This is premium cocoa powder imported from Holland. It is finer ground and richer than most American cocoa powders and makes for richer, deeper, chocolate-flavored baked goods than most cocoa powders sold in the stores. It is used by the best bakers and pastry chefs in Europe and America.

If you’re wondering if this is a good investment, be sure to check out all the 5 star reviews…
This stuff is AMAZING…cannot live without it! Gives baked goods a big punch of chocolate, no comparison to the stuff in the can. If you like truly dark, dense chocolate flavor, replace your usual cocoa with this in all recipes…it’s exceptional!
I’ve been watching this cocoa for weeks and finally broke down and bought it. I’m so glad I did. It’s so much better than the cocoa I used to use. The color is a rich dark brown rather than light brown, it’s finer, and it smells like chocolate instead of powder. My double chocolate chip cookies turned out with amazing flavor. I highly recommend this!

This cocoa is exceptional. If you compare it to what’s probably in your cupboard- probably Hershey’s…..There’s no comparison. This cocoa is dark and rick and wonderful. It really is much different(better) than what I’ve been using.
You may want to give some cinnamon from PP, too. Again, MUCH BETTER than what you’re probably buying at the grocery store.
I just received my cinnamon from a recent deal-using it in my Kathy’s Breakfast Coffee Cake recipe-it is a good-sized bottle too!
Another suggestion for chocolate aficionado’s would be Sharffen Berger and Valrhona-divine! 🙂
freecinn125 gets you a free 4 ounce bottle of cinnamon on your order.
Thanks!
Question – is this better or worse for people who are pre-diabetic? My hubby likes to make his own chocolate using dark cocoa from the store, so he can still have a little bit of dessert. Is this going to be better, worse, or about the same? I couldn’t find the nutritional facts.
Could I use this for hot chocolate? I know I’d have to add sugar, of course.
yes!
Someone in a review said they did.
Yes, it’s dutched which will make the hot cocoa smoother than natural cocoa.
FYI – you have to add the cinnamon to your cart in order to get it. Put the code in then search “Cassia Cinnamon” and it will show you which is free with the coupon. I broke down and bought the cocoa as I have always wanted to play with Dutch process cocoa – it is supposed to be so much better. I also bought some mint chocolate chips – 50% off – only $2.15 a bag. Going to try to con the hubby into pulling out the ice cream maker and making me some mint chocolate chip ice cream!
I can’t seem to get the code freecinn125 to work — it does not take off the price for cinnamon… anyone else get it to work? thanks.
I searched for cassia and it showed me which one I could get free
someone mentioned a while back that Cassia cinnamon isn’t true Cinnamon. What you want to use is Ceylon. Cassia has a much higher level of Coumarin in it (which can be toxic to the liver in large amounts) vs Ceylon. One site I read when it was mentioned a few weeks ago, but I can’t find it now, is a researcher said that Coumarin is toxic to rats due to their DNA, but human body breaks it down differently….
Anyway, don’t mean to freak ya out.. just want to give you the heads up, that if you do use Cassia, use it sparingly.
any idea what’s the shelf life like for this cocoa?
I’ve started to believe that Collin is a mind reader. I was just browsing for a good homemade chocolate cake recipes, and I opened this website to see if maybe there’s a good deal for baking stuff, and I saw this LOL. This isn’t the first time she posted something that I want or need LOL. Bought 3! Thanks Collin, you’re the best! :).
Shipping to CT was $8.xx
nesquick powder can be made with cocoa pdw:
use 2/3 c sugar and 1/3c cocoa powder…just heat a little water in microwave 30 sec for a cup then add powder mix, all before adding milk; otherwise, mix comes out chunky…
same recipe with hot milk makes hot cocoa
WARNING: “Dutch cocoa provides less antioxidants than natural cocoa because the alkali process destroys some of the flavanols (the powerful antioxidants found in cocoa). You can tell a cocoa or chocolate is Dutch Chocolate when the label indicates “Dutch process” or “alkali added” or “European style”.
my shipping was 9.22. anybody know what i’m doing wrong
My shipping was $9.22 with the cinnamon. However, after reading what Mel wrote about the cinnamon and the toxicity in rats, I removed the cinnamon from my cart and my shipping changed to $4.99.
