Could you please tell me, when you purchase the Groupon does it give you the code immediately, or do you have to wait until the deal is over? Great deal, thank you!! 🙂

  2. Courtney

Hi Collin – have you tried this? Groupon says it’s not valid on ‘accessories’ – will it still work with the mugs?

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I was able to test the deal and it did work on the mugs. Keep in mind that your code is available immediately but is not meant to be used until tomorrow.

      • rebate queen

I was able to do your whole deal scenario immediately

  3. katie

in your title, you say 18 boxes, but in the deal scenario, you said 16…

    • Rachel

I think the 2 extra to make it the 18 boxes come in the Lucky Irish Set. HTH! 🙂

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Yep, there are 2 boxes of Irish Creme in the Lucky Irish set 🙂

        • katie

oh, ok. now i get it.

  4. Amy

This deal is probably too rich for my blood, but in case any body was wondering, Gevalia coffee is SOOOO GOOD! They are small bags (inside the boxes), but definitely worth the $2.78 a box. Wish it was for a smaller amount just so I can get some of that coffee again!

  5. Lisa

Redemtion of this groupon starts at midnight…I hope that the buy 2 get 1 free is still going on then as well as the Lucky Irish set 🙂
Either way I love this coffe so it is a great deal!!

    • rebate queen

I was able to use mine immediately

  6. rebate queen

    11% cashback at shopathome!

I was able to use my groupon immediately. The deal scenario worked just as you posted it!

  7. Coco

The only way to get the 99.89 total with the Irish cream set is to order FIFTEEN bags, not 16 bags – and that makes it 2.94/bag.

    • Coco

There was a website glitch, I called and they got the 16th bag put on for me, so nevermind!

  8. Brittany

it looks like the bags are 8oz. I believe normal grocery store bags of seattle’s best, etc are 12oz. Just something to consider!

  9. caprice

How do I get free shipping?

    • Jane

i couldn’t get the order to go through without a shipping charges so I called and the customer service person finished the order for me and is going to credit my card back for the shipping charges.

  10. Heidi

In case anyone else uses a Discover card, it’s 15% back from ShopDiscover.
Also, I just did a ton of math to figure out if this would be a good deal compared to the coffee I usually buy at World Market with their deals, and if I bought 20 boxes of Gevalia coffee with this deal for about $55, that would be approximately $4.13 per 12 oz. bag at World Market. I think it’s a pretty good deal.

  11. Jess Clark

I was able to do this deal immediately! I actually got 15 boxes of coffee, the Irish creme set that included 2 extra boxes of coffee and 1 box of tea. I did have $1.90 overage I had to pay but that’s a fantastic deal for 17 boxes of coffee, 4 mugs and 1 box of tea. We figured it out and together, including the $50 groupon and $1.90 overage…..we only paid just under $52 for nearly $140 worth of Gevalia products!!! We are avid Gevalia customers and this is the best deal we’ve ever come across. Thank you so much Collin 🙂

  12. Hillary

Split the deal with my dad who is also a huge coffee drinker! Really glad about this.

  13. ana

does anyone know if these mugs are sold separately? I searched pedestal mug in amazon but couldnt find these 🙁

    • Natalie

they are sold under acccesories but i don’t think accesories alone are included in the deal.

      • ana

Thank you 🙂 Ill see if I can find them there

  14. Courtney

You can also get 3% cash back purchasing the groupon through ebates!!! 🙂

  15. caprice

    I got these:

    Tea Classics Basket $29.95 * 1
    Medium Roast Variety Pack $0 * 1
    Lucky Irish Set $29.99 * 1
    Organic Green Tea $0 * 3
    White Tea $6.45 * 1
    Mixed Berry Tea $9.99 * 1
    Peruvian Organic Whole Bean $7.99 * 3
    Peruvian Organic $7.99 * 1
    Irish Creme $7.49 * 1

    Very good deal!

  16. Marlena

I had to pay shipping! 🙁 Still a good deal on this coffee. 🙂

  17. Lauren

This is an awesome deal and the coffee is so delicious. If you like flavored coffee, the Dark Chocolate Truffle is REALLY good and I also like Vanilla Nut and French Vanilla. You could try so many different varieties with this deal!

  18. Nikko M.

I got 19 bags of coffee for the cost of the Groupon & an extra $.37. We LOVE Gevalia, but only usually buy it as a splurge a few times a year because it’s on the expensive side. 3 bags of their coffee plus shipping is around $27 usually so this is a fantastic deal! My husband told me yesterday that we were getting low on coffee. He’s going to be really surprised when 19 bags of it gets delivered. Thanks Collin!

  19. Babs

Love coffee deals thanks got 8lbs of coffee for around $55. One lb is kona coffee which typically can be found anywhere from $30-$60 a lb. Very very happy. Love the site.

  20. Kate

I’m not seeing the B2G1 free deal. Did that end?

  21. Krista

My groupon will not work with the buy 3 get 2 free and I can’t find a buy 2 get one free offer now! Anyone else?

  22. Scarlett

Unfortunately this scenario no longer works; the Buy 2 Get 1 Free deal is nowhere to be found and the Groupon will *not* stack with B3G2 Free or the 20% Off $100 deals. Seriously bummed. =(

    • Krista

Me too! Did you try calling or anything?

      • Scarlett

I haven’t tried calling (never seem to have great luck with customer service). I’ve tried to work it every which way, but the Groupon switches to “Not Applied” when combined with any other offer. It seems to be working as a coupon versus a gift certificate, which is disappointing. Not sure why it was stacking with the B2G1 but I’m so sad to have missed out. Maybe they’ll bring it back? I think the Groupon is valid through June …

        • Krista

That was what I was thinking too. You know, worst case it is 50% off of some good coffee. I try to remind myself that sometimes these things happen when you chase great deals and i have had lots of great deals come my way so maybe this just is not one of the most awesome but still okay!

  23. Kim

I called and they were able to stack the B3G2 for me with the groupon.

    • allie

Did you use the Groupon? Do you mind if I ask what your order looked like? How many bags or boxes of coffee did you receive?

      • Scarlett

I’d love to know this as well; now the B3G2 free sale is only letting me get 2 free coffees for the entire order, whereas yesterday there was no limit. Gevalia is proving to be much more of a hassle than it’s worth! =(

  24. Scarlett

To everyone having issues with this deal:

I just got off the phone with Gevalia customer service; the B3G2 free promotion is now limited (maximum of 2 free coffees per entire order), and neither the B3G2 sale nor the current 30% off promo can be combined with the Groupon.

The CS rep I talked to said they’ve received many calls with similar complaints, and essentially the Groupon is being treated as a coupon/promo code and NOT a gift certificate. So it cannot be combined with any deal, incentive, etc – and they’re no longer allowing CS reps to make orders for Groupon people on the phone. They will only tell you how/where to use the code on their website, and are rejecting any attempt to combine discounts.

I just requested a refund from Groupon. Was really excited about this one, but nowhere in the fine print did it state that the voucher could not be combined with other offers – and that’s what Gevalia is now claiming. Oh well!

    • Krista

Scarlett, please let us know if groupon refunds… I may do the same! I am really disappointed in the inconsistency of the offer- some are able to get crazy good deals and others are not!

      • Scarlett

Hey Krista, I responded below to ChicagoDude about getting a refund from Groupon (they’re super friendly and easy to work with – much unlike Gevalia!) Hope it works for you too! 🙂

  25. Scarlett

Likewise! I’m confident that Groupon will refund; the Customer Service guy at Gevalia said that they had been instructed as of today not to take any more phone orders from people using Groupons, so that definitely falls under “merchant not willing to redeem” in Groupon’s return/refund policy.

What really bums me out is that the voucher stated that it wasn’t valid until March 8th, so I dutifully waited to use it – whereas if I’d redeemed it right away (using a scenario similar to the one Colin posted above), it would have gone right through with no issues. Now I’m wondering if Gevalia will begin cancelling orders that people were able to sneak in early. Someone on SlickDeals said that their order is still “pending”, so I guess we’ll see.

Will let you know if the refund goes through!

  26. chicagodude

Yeah, Gevalia is really giving themselves a bad rep now…..

Same issue here, compiled my order yesterday based on B3G2 discount, had $110 for 20 coffees, but waited until today because I thought I couldn’t use my Groupon yet. Today I opened my basket again and tadaaa….suddenly it’s $160!
Of course I sent a complaint, about both the B3G2 deal and the Groupon stacking, and I got a reply that I should call CS and they would help me apply the Groupon.

Now the fun part: I called CS and guess what? The guy I spoke to told me there is no such thing as a B3G2 deal, he only knew about a B2G1 deal!! WTH, I got the link for that deal from Gevalia and was staring at their website with B3G2 as we spoke!!
Obviously the CS guy was completely useless….

Seems I’m heading for a refund….You know, I probably would’ve done the Groupon deal even without the B2G1 or B3G2 discounts, but Gevalia’s way of doing business, (i.e. suddenly stopping the B2G1 discount, changing rules of B3G2 discount and lousy, oblivious CS reps) has completely turned me off for using them at all…

I think Gevaalia will soon realize that it would’ve served them better to honor the Groupon + B2G1 together and take some minor losses, instead of these shenanigans and and all the bad rapport they’re getting now…..

    • Scarlett

We’re on the same wavelength; I would have been pretty happy with the Groupon deal + free shipping, but dangling the carrot of all these great combinable offers and then snatching them away (and as you said, acting as though they never existed) has really turned me off.

Good news from Groupon though. I used the form on their website to report an issue with my purchase; initially they offered me a $50 Groupon credit, but I sent the following response to their email and within 15 minutes or so they had processed a full refund to my credit card:

“I called Gevalia directly and was told that they were no longer allowing phone orders that were to be paid for with a Groupon voucher, and that they had made changes on their website to prevent Groupons from being combined with any Gevalia website offers. As there was no mention within the voucher PDF nor the Gevalia Groupon page that this offer could not be combined with Gevalia promotions, and that what I was purchasing was essentially a coupon code versus a gift certificate, I would appreciate a full refund instead.”

So anyone looking for a full refund (versus a Groupon credit, which I believe anyone qualifies for if they request it within 7 days of purchase), try using a response similar to the one above. As long as you point out that the merchant is giving you redemption problems and that the Groupon voucher did not state “cannot be combined with other offers”, they should provide a refund. HTH!

  27. chicagodude

Seems Gevalia shot themselves in the foot and realized too late that the Groupon combined with B2G1 or B3G2 discounts would cost them too much profit…But you can’t change the rules after the game has already started!

  28. Marlena

I don’t care HOW good the deal is with Gevalia, I will NEVER order from them again! I have had the WORST customer service from them and am now out $100 because they couldn’t cancel an order. I placed it on 03/07 and have called back SEVERAL times to cancel the order and NO ONE has been able to do it. So now I have an order that is to be delivered to me today (that I don’t want), I have to WAIT for them to send me return labels so I can send it back, ONLY AFTER they get the coffee back can I get my money refunded!!! So maybe by May I’ll get my $100 back!
