Just read an article on Marketwatch about this movie. So far its been a huge flop for Disney. I thought this seeing the trailer and the name for it. It could easily be named something else and I bet that would’ve created a different outcome. So far my prediction is spot on. lol

I thought the same thing when I saw the previews. I kept thinking, “Am I supposed to know who that is?” LOL. I didn’t realize it was from a series by Edward Rice Burroughs until recently.
That said, I did see the movie and it wasn’t bad. I’m not a big fan of science fiction either. I think they should have marketed it differently with a better title and it would have done more business.
It is sad that it is not doing well. The books are a fun read and the series does have a pretty good following. I saw the movie over the weekend and I really enjoyed it. It was not as violent as the books (but that is just Disney), but overall it captured the essence of the 1st book. I hope it does better so they can show the other alien races that are not in the 1st book 🙂
