I heard from an employee that Walgreens is going to start the reward card nationwide in a few weeks. A fellow couponer told me she wont like it because you wont be able to earn and redeem points in the same transaction. I also heard no more RRs either. I guess Walgreens is trying to get rid of couponers in general.
they are going to a Rewards Card, but RRs WILL CONTINUE. I have talked with the store manager, and he has assured me RRs will not be going anywhere right now, he has ads for the next 2 months and there are RR deals. Besides, Wags will loose too much if they get rid of RRs (no way they can compete with CVS & RA, since they both offer rewards – UPs & ECBs)
You know how CVS has quarterly ecb’s, well thats how the Rewards Card will work. Not only will get get points for purchase (which will be based on your OOP, so no different than CVS), but you also get bonus points for buying items in the ad. Once you get to so many points, you can redeem for a Wags GC. Some deals will be rewards based, other deals will have RR.
I don’t think they are trying to get rid of couponers, just trying to keep pace with the other drug stores. So don’t knock it until they officially roll out the program! And give it time to work out the kinks.
I think it’s a good idea, like CVS and Rite Aid have limits on the UPs & ECBs, Wags will be able to have limits (and control individuals who clear shelves simply because they can).
I talked to a Wags manager yesterday that said they were not going to have RR after the new system goes into effect in Sept. Guess we need to find out for sure from corporate.
I agree that we need to find out. But if they end their register rewards, I will quit shopping there.
my daughter works for wags, they get their cards on the 15th with more information,,,, but from what she currently understands there will be no effect on the register rewards… this is suspose to be an added perk !!!! Lets hope so !!!
i would like to give u guys the proper information about the new wags rewards card as a wags employee first off they are not doing away with rr second it a perk for our custumers who shop there all the time but you must have the card to get the sale prices and use the wags coupons u cant use a store coupon witout the card or vice versa they have to be used together also you will earn extra points on lots of items you buy the ad will also have deals with points and rr deals still to when you earn 5000 points you may use it to get 5.00 off your order or you can max out at 50000 points for 50 dollars off a order only thing is you cant reedem and earn points in same order so you would wanna reedeem your points in an order that you wouldnt get points on also you cant earn and use points on tobbaco alchol stamps gift cards phone cards dairy scripts ect all the rr excluisions it is an awesome deal if u shop there alot as u will still be gettin rr and can use coupons now u will be gettin points to any more questions just ask i will try to answer

For the clear, walgreens coupon, it says when you print it, limit one coupon per purchase and maximum of two identical coupons in same shopping trip. Ive heard the same thing and I’ve asked a couple of cashiers about it and they didn’t know anything about it changing. If they change it then I won’t be shopping there anymore, their prices are way too high for me. The only way I justify buying from them is because I get RR so I feel like what I’m buying is priced ok if I can use RR to get something else free.
I tried the huggies deal a while ago and it didn’t work. The August coupon book coupon is for Little Movers only not Pull ups.
I was also confused about this. The August coupon says Slip Ons, so it shouldn’t work for regular diapers or Pull Ups, right?
I also tried this one with little movers, and they would not accept the August coupon book coupon as it was for Slip ons. Slip ons is a type of Huggies Diaper that slip on, but not pull ups or goodnights. Each has its own “label” type and the book says Slip ons. So, at least at my walgreens, they would only use it for that type of Huggies Diaper. Otherwise, it would have made a great deal for diapers!
I have heard about the rewards thing but havent really read much about it. I am at walgreens at least once if not two or three times a week for milk or eggs. Their milk is crazy cheap. They are about $1 cheaper than wal-mart/hy-vee per gallon of milk and .50 cheaper than the gas station by my house and thats when milk isn’t on sale. I will continue shopping Wags just for that reason.
Also for anyone who has gotten their paper yet: Is there a softsoap coupon? Collin says $1/1 in the 8/12 SS up above but no mention of one in the coupon preview. I am in need of bar soap and prefer soft soap over dove so Im really hoping there will be a coupon.

Yes. The manufacturer doesn’t care that the store is giving you one for free. The manufacturer sees that you bought two and will reimburse the store for you getting 2. I hope that helps. Collin has a section for “coupon newbies” that might explain it better.

This coupon was originally a pdf file, which you can print unlimited prints of to begin with. Then, someone along the line made a page out of the file and was sharing it with others on here and that’s how I got a hold of it and I just thought I would share with everyone else. A few months ago when I got this coupon e-mailed to me and used it at my Walgreens I didn’t have any problems using more than one in different transactions, but I guess that would depend on your cashier/store.

When you use in-store coupons, when there is like a limit 6 and you have 3 manufacture coupons do you have to buy 3 more items to use for a filler. I’m not sure if the in-store add coupons count as items? Does anyone know? Thanks so much.

Really- nice to know, b/c yesterday I bought 4 items w/4 MM, and used 1 ad coupon limit 6 & bought 6. But then I couldn’t use any of my RR’s b/c they said I exceeded the coupon. but the total price was like $5.00 not including tax. I had the glade RR’s I wanted to use- then the lady told me, I could only use the RR on glade product. I knew that was wrong, so I just paid and left. So that’s why I was thinking I exceeded the item limit.
RRs are treated as Manuf coupons. So you already used 4 manuf qs for 4 items, that’s why the RR beeped, 5 manuf q’s on 4 items. You would have needed a filler to use the RR(s) If you had 2 RRs, you would have needed 2 fillers. In store coupons don’t count towards product to coupon ratio, so I try to find cheap items that I need whenever I need a filler, like jello, tomato sauce, pencils, etc.

The poise coupon for two dollars off is only valid on the gel tube or the lube – at least mine says as much.

My Walgreens (Atlanta, GA) refused to accept both coupons ($1 walgreens & $2 manf) for the Clear haircare deal. They said that both are manufacturer coupons which is why I couldn’t use both.

Checkout walgreen’s gift section for the Gillette Proglide Giftset. It comes with fullsize body wash, deodorant, shaving gel and it is rolling the RRs and the coupon worked w no problems. I just tried it! Great deal!

Just to let you all know, transfer a prescription to walgreens from a competitor and get the $25 dollar gift card, THERE ARE NO LIMITS, so you can transfer as many prescriptions as you want ! Also, we will start accepting Perx or Express script insurance again on September 15 th, that includes tricare, and anthem, so come back to walgreens and don’t forget to ask for the gift cards on each script you transfer. I am a Pharmacy tech.

My Walgreens in Chicago refused to accept the Walgreens coupon for the U by Kotex and said that it didn’t scan anyways. The cashier also said that I needed to get the Kotex pads pictured on the coupon. I still purchased the U by Kotex pads because it seemed like a good price with the manufacturer coupons.
