Thank you!
People need to be eating less meat, not more.
people need to stop telling other people what they “need”…
Agreed. To each his own.
eating lots of meat not good for u. I dont think this diet is good!!
false. Eating red meat IS good for you. And Paleo isn’t a diet, but more of a lifestyle change. Its not just a meat based diet, but also lots of fruits & veggies. What ppl need to eat less off is all the prepackaged junk littered with man-made ingredients and fast food. But to each their own 😉 I dont’ follow Paleo exclusively, but I can tell you that my body feels so much better once I started incorporating paleo foods in my meals.
Yes, it’s true, meat isn’t “good” for you. However, the Paleo diet isn’t all about meat. You can find your protien in something else. I don’t follow the Paleo diet, but I have read many books on it. I can really appreciate the idea of eating as close to natrual as possible. Like Mel said, cut out the processed foods alone and you’ll start noticing the difference. You can’t even buy celery salt anymore without “added” stuff in there. So just eat as close to raw/natural as possible and your good to go! 🙂
No one was talking about “prepackaged food” being good for you. I was talking about eating lots of meat, especially “red meat” is not good for you. Current research supports what I’m saying. I know a lot of people on the paleo diet eat a lot of meat, not just fruits and veggies. And it is a diet, when you can’t eat what ever you want it’s a diet, period.
What I meant by prepackaged foods is Meat products like hot dogs, deli meat, sausage, etc… eating too much of that, yeah, that isn’t good for you. But red meat in moderation (like several times a month is OK) And that’s from my dr.
And just b/c I choose not to eat certain foods doesn’t mean I’m on a diet. Its my lifestyle/choice. Doesn’t mean I don’t indulge in chips or cookies from time to time :0
Thank you, I got the book so I can figure out what a Paleo diet is!
I started the paleo diet in March of 2011, weighing 234 lbs 5’2″:
lost 10 lbs per month, not hungry. Lost total of 100 lbs, been a steady 130 for months now. Eat like a caveman! It works
ps all my labs are excellent!!
That is awesome!! Congrats!! I have friends on this diet who are doing really well with it too!
WTG!
Congrats! That is awesome!!
Thanks to all! It changed my life and I can’t imagine ever going back, I don’t miss any of the “bad” carbs!
Son was just diagnosed with ulcerative colitis and the Paleo Diet is highly recommended. Wow, coincidence that this offer would come up? Hmmmm…..Someone is trying to tell us something! Thanks Collin!!
Thank you!! I have been following a Paleo lifestyle for almost four months, and it absolutely is a permanent change and not a temporary “diet” in the way most people use the word. I have zero desire to ever again eat processed, refined, GMO foods that my body cannot use to function at an optimal level. I have never felt better–my skin is glowing, I have so much energy, and I don’t get that heavy, crummy feeling after meals. I don’t sit down to a plate full of red meat either–when I do have it, I am fairly sure my serving size is less than most people pile on their plate, and the rest of my plate is full of fruits and vegetables. It’s also grass-fed beef from a local farm, which has far less saturated fat and calories than the grain-fed stuff you buy in a grocery store, as well as higher levels of CLA (known to ward off cancer and help fight belly fat) and vitamins and minerals. We only eat beef a couple times a week though, we also eat corn and soy-free pastured chicken, fish and seafood and enjoy an occasional meat-free dish!
