I’m going to have to check out those boots at the price, thanks!

    • rubysliprz

LOL.. I was thinking the same thing Victoria.

    • Dawn

Check out Belks, if they are in your area. They will have boots for $19.99. I don’t know where I saw the link; likely BFdeals.com but, not sure.

  2. CopperKitten86

Wow, I am impressed! Looks like they caved and decided to do a Black Friday special after all! 🙂

  3. Tim Fisher

I’m so sad they’re not offering the Disney snowglobes this year! Been a fan of those since I started doing BF a few years back! 😀

    • Kellie

I have been collecting the snow globes for at least 10 years. It’s like saying goodbye to a dear friend. I’m truly sad. I don’t want no stinking button. I’m going to go pout now lol.

      • Abel

I am also disappointed, I too have been collecting the Mickey snow globes for a long time & it was also a Black Friday tradition for me.

        • Elizabeth

I’m with you all 🙁 Every year on BF my sister and I always went to the mall only for the snow globes. I was so excited and I just realized they’re not giving them away anymore :((((

        • keith

i am also disapointed i my daughters and i started collecting several years ago and made a traditiion of going to penneys at 4am then to breakfast then to work. just disapointed

          • Steve

My boys and m father have been collecting the snow globes for years. We would get up at 4 am just to go to the mall and it became a family tradition . It is sad that that has to end.

        • joe

my wife has been collecting disney globes for years we are really upset with jcp how could they do this to us

      • Natalie

I am thinking the exact same over here!!

    • Ashley

I too am another Mickey snowglobe collector….so sad this year. I am NOT going to JC Penny this year!

      • Barbara estes

It’s killing me. Disney is my favorite. I just want to cry. Even through there giving out buttons they still could do snowglobes. Maybe next year they will see that and start them up again. They will just have to give out two to make up for this year.c3vy52mb

        • Natalie

          I agree!!

  4. jennyc62

Do those Black Friday prices apply online as well? Can I get those deals from home?

  5. Holly

I have a birthday coupon, I wonder if I can use on the BF sale items? Anyone know?

  6. jamie

Wow, slow cookers and toaster ovens for 8 bucks?! I might actually check this out haha!

  7. Naomi

I have $75 in JCPenney gift cards i got at family reunion this year in prizes! :-)! Been saving them for BF can’t wait to see wait deals i can snag!! :-)! Hopefully I can get stuff for myself and other people both!! :-)!

  8. Jen

Wow! They’re opening at 6am…looks like they’ll be getting my business this Christmas season (boycotting all stores that open before 4am).

    • nl

Yeah, I was upset when I heard no snow globe. I have like 10yrs worth or something… but I read the email from the CEO today and really thought about what was more important. And I love the fact that they not caving and opening on Thanksgiving. Family is so important.

      • Kellie

I agree with family being important but he could still have authorized another snow globe. =( I’m like you…I have like10 or so. I’m broken hearted that my little tradition won’t be continuing.

        • N

          It is a bummer

  9. KK

Does anybody know if JCP is giving away a Disney snow globe on Black Friday? My dd has 11 or 12 of these & I’m hoping to continue the tradition, but all I’ve seen for a giveaway is the pins. TIA

    • KK

Replying to myself–I just saw Tim Fisher’s post that says JCP is not going to give out a Disney snow globe. Bummer.

      • Linda

What a BIG disappointment. That was one of the things it was worth getting up early /staying up all night for. It was exciting to see the new globe each year we could add to our collection.

        • Kellie

I agree Linda. I guess there is no point in me getting up early and getting out in the cold. I’ll stay in my warm bed and giggle at the people fighting over the BF deals and all of the awful crowds and lines. But then I’ll be sad because I don’t have a new friend for my collection.

  10. Sarah

We are not giving away snow globes anymore!
Instead we are giving away buttons that have a special code in them. You enter online and have a chance to win an awesome trip! 12 winners on black Friday and one winner a day until Christmas!!!! Much better deal than the snow globes ! limit two buttons per day per person!

    • KK

Although you believe that the buttons are a “better deal” than the snow globes, both my daughter & I will miss the tradition of getting a new design to add to her collection each year.

    • Sarah

I am extremely disappointed that JCP will no longer offer the snow globes. I was fortunate to collect through the years and happy when they started putting years on them. I guess I won’t be getting up early this year to go to JCP! I am not impressed with the button offer. I remember taking part in another trip promotion which turned into a class action!

      • marie

I agree with this and I think that the new CEO is going to bring JCP to close doors soon Have no desire to shop at JCP any longer and it was my favorite store bye bye JCP you made a bad choice with this CEO

    • desiree huffine

yeah right!!! is that a winner for each store , at least with the snow globes everyone got one

  11. Melinda

That’s too bad that JC Penny is not continuing with the traditonal mickey mouse snow globe giveaways. That is one of the main attraction that draws people into the store on black Friday.

    • gee

That really does suck. my daughter has collected them since her first christmas 11 yrs ago, she is going to be so bummed. Your right that is the only reason they have so many early birds

    • Linda L Boudreau

LIn says I totally agree I would go for the globe and ended up spending alot of money on their deals now I will try somewhere else. I have the very first one and it has been a tradition for myself and my mother to go every year together then shop and out to breakfast. It is a sad moment for me.

  12. Steve Adao

JCP is making a big mistake in taking away the snowglobes. With snow globes everyone is a winner not just a select few!

    • nl

I agree with this. The globe brought me and I know a lot of others into JCP on Black Friday. Bummer

  13. Jocelyn

Does anyone know of any shipping deals for online on black friday?

  14. Suzy

That’s a shame about the globes, many people collected them, and looked forward to going their on BF. I probably won’t even waste my time now. When your time is rushed and have so many places to hit, the globe was a big reason why I squeezed Penney’s in. JCpenney has changed it’s image so much this past year, and I hear more is to come. Just my opinion, but not in a positive way.

  15. Rosanne

The snow globe was the ONLY reason I got up to go to JCP. It had been a tradition for me for the last 10 years. Everyone thought I was nuts to be so excited over them but they always knew that started my Christmas shopping tradition. Oh well, no reason to to get up now. I am sad that the stores have ruined Black Friday by opening on Thanksgiving day now. Once in the store, I always found some good deals! This year I will just find another store with the best deals when I decide to wake up. (sad)

  16. SFerrell

I am quite sure JC Penney will regret their decision to do away with the Snow Globe tradition. Like many traditions, it didn’t have to make a lot of sense; it brought something fun and consistent into our lives. This is a big mistake for them!!

  17. chuckie

No more Snow Globe. We are so sad, good bye Mickey. We sure will miss you . RIP JC Penney we won’t be up early and coming this Friday.

  18. desiree huffine

I wont be there now I went every year with my grandma and my mom for the snow globe, and then to shop thats the only thing that made me shop there was mickey!!! o well good bye jcp

  19. Mark

I too won’t be visiting JC Penny now. No snow globes is just Sad, I was going to get my daughter interested in the BF shopping with the Disney snow globe, which would keep her occupied while Mom and Dad shopped.. without the snow globes I won’t be visiting JC Penny, now or into the future.. Yes the snow globes meant that much!

  20. Cassandra

I am sad too about the snow globes. I looked forward to it each year. A little boy encouraged me with his excitement about them. That is the reason I would get up early for one. How sad it is that they are not continuing that tradition. Purely sad!

  21. Gwyneth

WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT!!!!!! My daughter has collected them for years, and this would get us up to shop at J.C.Penny’s first thing!!! NOT this year..really let down that you start a “tradition” then dump it..not good

  22. sharon

To bad about the snow globes. It was the first thing my daughter and I thought of for Black Friday. Now I won’t even bother to go in the store. It was a Black Friday tradition. Now with no globes why even bother going to JCP. I will pass this store by.

  23. Sam

put coupons with the snow globles and everyone would get a good deal.

  24. tori

I too am very SAD and will not be getting up at all on Friday. I have always started my day at JCP and the snowglobe is what I look forward to more than enything else for the day (spent $$$$ there tooo). My daughter says “me too”!

  25. sheila

Very sad about the snow globes… it has been a tradition for us for over 10 years. No reason to go to JCP now. 🙁

  26. Brenda

Crying at the thoughts of no snow globe this year. This is just another reason to dislike JCP and all of the square deal hoopla. IMO, JCP clothing, shipping and service has really went down in the last year.

  27. adri

this is the first time i have heard of the darn snow globes and i beed going there for years

    • beverly

      hahaha me too!!!

  28. Duke

The snowglobes have been a tradition since the beginning for me. Standing joke in my family that I’ll be in the BF line. Guess this year I’ll be snuggled in bed because their quality has gone down hill and there’s nothing but a snowglobe that drew me there the last few years. RIP Mickey Snowglobes!

  29. Becka

Wow no more Disney snow globes???? Really they could of stuck codes on the box. My only reason to go out on BF has gone out the window. 🙁

    • Brian

Becka is correct. I have no reason to even walk into JCP this year.

  30. Robert

Put the code on the bottom of the globe, I don’t want no button lol. I as well started collecting for my daughter about 10 years ago and made it a tradition to go to Penny’s first and yes sometimes buy stuff. I also don’t like this new sale idea either.

  31. Mike (Disney Fan)

It’s a sad day for myself & all the other loyal Disney Fans to learn that after a decade that JC Pennys is no longer giving out those cute Mickey Mouse snowglobes. Instead they are giving out cheap non-Disney buttons with codes to enter for long shot chances of winning a prize. I guess this will end my traditional Black Friday first stop & shopping at JC Pennys. Happy Holidays to my fellow Disney Buffs!!!

  32. Pookie

My family and I are very disspointened that they will not be giving out the globes this year. This will be the first year we won’t have one and it’s very sad.

  33. Yo momma

No snow globes = STUPID! If they were worried about free loaders just grabbing free snow globes and not buying anything, they could have just advertised, “with minimum purchase” or “for every $##” you get a free snow globe. I think most people would have no problem with that, much better idea than lame buttons. Good bye JCP.

  34. Francine

Very disappointed that you discontinued the Mickey snow globes, it was a nice collection 🙁

  35. Susanne Buttrey

No sonwglobes? Bah Humbug! I have all since 2001. BF will be a nice morning to sleep in.

  36. sandie

i’m with all of you! It was the only reason to go to the mall.. jc &.the snowglobes!!! Jc penny is a real disappointment this year!!! Who wants a button with one winner in a million!
The snow globe was a special little gift that brought us all to jc on black friday

  37. Marie

So disappointed. It was a sisters event every year. Been collecting for our kids. So sad.

  38. Linda Imhof

WOW! I am amazed to see that there are so many people like me. The JCP snow globe was a traditional black friday event for me was well and I am so disappointed they are not having them this year. JCP would always be my first stop on BF and I spent quite a few $$’s there after getting my snow globe. Won’t be visiting there tomorrow, that’s for sure. So sad to see this tradition end.

  39. Bea

Just found out no snow globes. Ok what is JCP thinking. All change is not good and this is not good. I have been collecting and spending money on BF at the old JC Penny for 9 Years. And the old JC Penny not this new JCP was the greatest for getting people in the store with the snow globes. Not some stupid button so your decision JCP to me was WRONG. No reason to get up and go shopping tomorrow.

  40. mary

Very disappointed that JC Pennys is not giving the snow globes away:( I have collected them for years. That’s why I got up so early and then I would purchase most of my clothing for the year there. Not this year:( I don’t see why they couldn’t give them away if you spend a certain amount. Like spend $25 and receive a free disney snow globe.

  41. Sheri

Also very disappointed about the snow globes…been collecting since 2001 when my daughter was born. A tradition me and her shared every black Friday.

  42. Shannon Slucher

Every year I wake my daughter up to go Black Friday shopping she gets. Snow globe every year . Tradition !!! Every year. Thank you for crushing her tradition !

  43. gqmama

Am I the only one that thinks it’s funny to see all these comments lamenting the demise of free snow globes?

    • Mike

You may not be the only one who finds it Funny… But the question should be how Funny will the Big Wigs at JCP think it is when they only see RED on BLACK FRIDAY because of their WRONG decision???!!!

    • Natalie Hughes

I find it kind of funny. I think these buttons will be BIG! 1 in 4 wins, so I like those odds. What would I do with a snow globe nick nack?

  44. Dawn Nalley

I’m very upset to learn jc penny is no longer offering the Mickey snow globes I have came on Black Friday every year for many years I have collected Mickey snow globes since it started it has been a tradition for me to come to your store and do a lot of my Christmas shopping on Black Friday so I could get a snow globe I shop all year at jc penny and I spend a lot of money and I think it’s unfair to say the globes were stopped because the store was afraid ppl would just for the globes and not shop that’s very selfish I think and I am so very disappointed in your store for not giving out the globes anymore

  45. Richard Buckley

Rich and Joan It was our Christmas tradition to start our shopping after getting our globe. (Long distants to travel to shop without snow globe.)

  46. Mike

I am a Big Disney fan like many other JCP shoppers and am sad to have no Mickey Snowglobe for 2012. But if you check the bottom of your other snowglobes from previous year you will see that the were made in China. Us collectors & JCP Big Wigs should really feel sad for all the workers in China that were put out of work because of this stupid decision! LOL!!! I’m sorry but somebody had to find something positive about this “GRAY” BLACK FRIDAY decision. Maybe another store that would like former Black Friday JCP shoppers will have Mickey Snowglobes for us in 2013.

  47. Marcia Knight

Such a tragedy! The Mickey Snow globes united many family members on BF. Mr. Johnson, please rethink your decision for next year. Another very disappointed former JC Penney shopper.

  48. Barbara

    I love the buttons!

    • Natalie Hughes

I love the buttons too! I just found out about them and plan on going to every counter every day to ask for them until they run out! I’m so addicted. Especially since 1 in 4 wins something. My husband and I each put in 2 codes today and we each won a $10 gift certificate. If we do this everyday til Christmas Eve we can get a lot of awesome stuff free (especially with a 5 month old).

  49. Barbara

I plan on winning a trip!!!

    • melanie

Won over $100.00 in Gift certificates since Black Friday. Buttons are better than show globes!

  50. Marcia Knight

I disagree with your opinion. Will you be displaying your buttons at Christmas time? We display our Mickey globes each year. Enjoy your buttons.

    • melanie

I’m making an advent calendar with my buttons!!!! Have won over $200 in certificates/gift cards. Could care less about snow globes.
