For me…the ecoupons only failed to work once….I didnt bother to go back for an adjustment but I’m pretty sure they would give it to me! Just make sure yoi check your receipt before you leave the store!
Matt- I have had certain things that I’ve loaded onto my card not work… I’ve learned to print out my “list” and when I show the customer service my receipt (proving I didn’t get the discount) and then my printed out “list” of e-coupons, they have quickly given me my money back. I always bring that list now because for some reason sometimes they don’t work. hth

I find I have to double check my receipts at Safeway to make prices/sales/coupons are accurate. Very frustrating.
Same here. I find myself going to stand in their customer service line two out of 3 trips because of price problems. So annoying.

Agreed this program is great in theory but I find I get over charged a lot. While they will usually just honor it when I suite them I had it added I don’t always notice in the store and if its crowded it can be a hassle to get the refund back.

So happy to have you closer to the West Coast and posting deals at Safeway. I went by today to get my free Balance Bar (they had 2 dark chocolate varieties). I plan to go back on Friday for the free Pillsbury treats. Thank you.
Getting things for free should not be frustrating. Be prepared, because well *things* happen. Print your list or take screenshots with your phone. If you must, talk to a customer service person or the manager. It helps to know them! And don’t forget, you can only use your J4U savings at the store you registered it to.

I shop at up to four different Safeways and J4U works at them all. I rarely have problems at the cash register (sometimes catalinas don’t print) but I often find stores do not stock items I have loaded onto my card.

Didn’t get this but I did have a free balance bar and free Campbell go soup in my account. Although i do like this program, I have to say that I have gotten overcharged for alot of items in the past. I never really go back to the store for a refund because i have a baby and a toddler and its just too much of a hassle to go back.
Save your receipt and take it in the next time you go back (no matter when that is). I once took my receipt in (from 3 weeks prior) because they left my bakery item out of the bag. I wasn’t going to make a special trip for $2.50 when I didn’t need anything there so I waited. They had no problem with it.
Crystal, you might want to go back if you get a chance….last time Safeway made a mistake with an overcharged item, I went straight to customer service and they gave me back the difference AND they gave me a $5 gift card….the guys said when an item is charged at regular price and the Just for U savings don’t go thru, then Safeway will give you a $5 gift card for the mistake….just FYI 🙂

I was charged the full price for the toaster strudel so make sure you check your sales receipt. They did refund my money but it meant extra time in customer service.
I didn’t get thos, but I got a free O Oraganics salad bowl, free lunch!

I got these and the balance bar also…. I rarely have problems and if I do they fix it right away. I use the self check outs at Vons that way I take my time and look at all prices. Also if you got the $2.00 off coupons from your smiley account, the campbellts bag soups are 1.99 with your just for U making them free!!!
Thanks for letting us know! I go there occasionally if I’m in the area, so I’m glad I checked as I got both coupons. I like the program, but just wish the discounts showed up as items are scanned and not at the end bc it would be easier to see if there’s a problem. Wish the one I went to had self-scan.

They were Buy 2 get 1 free at my Safeway so with this loaded to my card I bought 1 and got 2 FREE 🙂 SCORE!!!!
They were also Buy 2 Get 1 at my location, so I only payed $2.99 for three. ( 2 were free!)
