Backpacks states limit 2 total per promotion. Is this 2 per item or 2 total?

  • Sharon says:

    2 total

  • Meg says:

For me the FUL SWEET MELISSA DAYPACK, BLUE shows the price @ 25% off for $ 29.99 but says ” MaxPerks exclusive. Get $39.98 back in MaxPerks Bonus Rewards (item# 23375250) online only, limit 2 backpacks total per promotion. ”
My question is will I get 39.98 even if I buy for 29.99 or no?
    Thanks in advance.

You will only get the price you paid…the rewards are never more than the price paid.

    • KJ says:

I ordered the same bag and was curious as well.

      • Angie says:

KJ, Did you received the backpack? I just got it in the mail and it had NO supplies in it. I called Office Max, but I was wondering if this is a common problem with this backpack. I really would have chosen a different one if I knew this was going to be a problem. :)

  • Maggie says:

How to get the Max Perks id?

  • J says:

The Melissa backpack doesn’t include the school supplies, does it?? I didn’t think it did but the comment on staples got me thinking it might.

    • Rachel says:

This is the description: “A casual daypack bundle is great for primary school.. The Sweet Melissa features two main compartments, organizers, and stash pockets in the backpack and core school supplies”. Based on the last line, I’d venture to say YES, IT DOES! :)

    • KJ says:

I was under the impression that it was.

    • Angie says:

I just got 2 of the Melissas in the mail and it contains no school supplies. I called Office Max and he said he will let me know in 24 hours. But he did says I will NOT get all of the items pictured?! I will update this but I just wanted to (a) let others know and (b) see if it is a widespread problem.

      • KJ says:

        Any updates?

        • Crystal says:

I also bought 2 of the Melissa Day pack and no supplies. I called yesterday and they told me they would contact me within 24 hours. I called back today and they goofed on the picture, but I will be receiving 2 $10 gift cards within 2 weeks.

  • Ketsy Alexander says:

Great deal regardless but last year included messenger and brand backpacks :(

    • mindy says:

I got a messgenger bag for my daughter, it was in the same rack w/ the backpacks and they told me it’s part of the 1c deal. She loves her bag. I bought her FUL backpack last year and it’s still looking good after a year. Love Office Max….hope they’ll continue to do this next year.

    • Kim says:

My hubby has a FUL backpack and loves it. He has had it for several years.

  • michelle says:

I am new to office max. It seems likeit would be hard to use the price of the backpack the next month. What do most people use their credit to buy?

  • Sherrie says:

I got a home mailer for double dollar days. It doubles every dollar you spend with max perks the code is MPASS1 I hope everyone can use it. It worked on the two backpacks I got!

  • Molly says:

I was just at my Officemax and they had some High Sierra backpacks, my son got one for $64.99. I asked just to make sure that it qualified for the promo and the managers said that if it wasn’t with the other ones on the wall it should. Does anyone know how long it takes to show on my account if I am getting the rewards for it? TIA

    • juanita says:

I just went to the store and bought one that was $69.99. I spoke to the manager to make sure it was included, because I thought I saw a price limit of $59.99 somewhere (blog or website?). He said yes, it was included, and there wasn’t a $ amt. limit. I get home and check the office max website and there it says it is on the backpacks reg. priced $29.99-$59.99 and the total reward amt. is $119.98. So…….I call customer service to check on it and well…….they think it should be covered since I only bought one (limit is 2) and it is under the total limit $ amt. But they didn’t sound so sure. They said to check on my rewards page in a couple of days. I am worried that the backpack I bought won’t be eligible at all since it is not in that reg. price range listed online. The manager had $100 backpacks there under the promo signs. Spiderman backpack that someone else bought might have the same problem since it is priced $29.99.

      • Jennifer says:

I just did the same thing with (2) $80 backpacks in-store. I also used (2) $10 coupons that was mailed to lower my out-of-pocket. When I got home I called customer services and was told the backpacks were part of the promotion! They were the Ful Slingpacs with electronic chargers!

        • Juanita says:

Better check your online rewards page. My purchase just posted, but the bonus rewards column say $0!!! I will call customer service again and see what they say. I am kinda irritated about this. I can return the backpack, but there probably won’t be anything left for me to buy to replace it. Pretty sure there will be a lot of upset people out there though.

  • Alla says:

Thanks for the heads up Collin. I went and got my 4 years old a Spiderman $19.99 backpack and it’s also gonna be a penny after the maxperks, plus it had a bonus lunch bag with it. He is sooooo happy with it :)

  • Erin says:

Did anyone get the supplies with the blue Melissa backpack? I received my bags today and did not get supplies, and went back to the website and they’ve now edited the description and removed the “core school supplies” from the product description!

    • Angie says:

Yep, I just posted the same to see if I was the only one having the problem. I called Office Max and he is looking into it but he said I would probably not get all of the items pictured. I don’t think I would have gotten the bag without the supplies. I will return the bags without it. I am supposed to hear from them within 24 hours, but based on their ability to write an accurate description, I am not holding my breath!

  • Marie says:

I called office max customer service because the back pack did not come with supplies and they said they would mail out a $20 gift card ($10 per backpack) due to the error. They said the wrong picture and description were on the website.

    • Marie says:

Also when my box came with the backpacks it had target and the target logo all over the box. They put a label over a previous label on the box with shipping info. The outside of the box even listed the backpacks that were inside as well as targets dpci number! It also said sporting goods 1/31/10 transition on a label on the outside of the box! The backpacks themselves had target tags with dpci numbers as well. Office max must have bought targets old inventory?! Found it kind of interesting.

    • Jenn says:

Thanks for the information regarding the 10.00 Gift card. I just called and they advised that the picture and description for the Melissa Blue Daypack was in fact one from last year and they will send a 10.00 gift gard as an apology for the error. But you have to call to get the gift card. She said that you will still get the full rewards (29.99) for the item.
I also got the same box from “Target” — the CS rep didnt know why the box had Target on it.

  • Aubrie says:

coupon for this week – additional 20% off
Print off or show it on your phone

  • Becky says:

I ordered the Melissa bag as well assuming it comes as shown. The package is coming tomorrow but it shows a shipping weight of 1lb. I’m guessing no supplies. VERY misleading!

  • Jenna G says:

I’m so not judging. My first reaction upon receiving the packs without the advertised supplies was not a happy one. But, after taking a breath or two, I realized that even without the supplies they were well worth the price. And how great has Office Max been to me this past year or so. Here’s hoping that the rewards keep rolling.

    • Erin says:

Yeah, I’m not upset by it necessarily. I will donate at least one of my two bags I bought, maybe both. I was excited to be able to donate a bag with a bunch of supplies. Seemed like a great gift for a child that needs it, and with the supplies included it just made for a super easy process. But regardless, it’s nice to be able to give a child a nice quality bag.

      • J says:

Agreed! They seem like really sturdy backpacks! And I got them by rolling MaxPerks Rewards! I think OfficeMax is wonderful for offering this every year!!!

  • Anna @ Frugal for You says:

I got the $10 Office Max gift card by mail yesterday! Thanks for all who commented that they called corporate after receiving a backpack without supplies. I was just going to return mine. Now, it’s like we made $9.99 overage on this bag! Plus, it is an awesome bag that I know my son will be excited to get for his birthday.
