lol, I just got hired at Kohl’s and often their prices are so inflated. Even their toys at 50% aren’t that great of a deal. I always wish I could tell people to find a coupon or % off when they come through my lane and make outrageous purchases without any coupon or anything. I’ve only worked 3 days and already think I’ll probably quit before BF—finding it’s too hard schedule-wise with kiddos at home, and realizing next Tuesday I’d have to PAY a babysitter the amount I would make in 4 hours JUST so I could work (reason: my hubby just also got hired last Friday teaching night school Tuesday evenings at 3x what I make at Kohl’s) ——-how lame is this? I just don’t have enough piano lessons to teach and make it through the month! GRRRR.
But good luck to everyone! Wishing they didn’t open till Friday though.

    • Mella

I just got hired there too. Hate how they are open on Thanksgiving, plus the pay is terrible.

      • Anna

its retail what do you expect? they can find 100 other people who can do the same work so they dont have to pay more than minimum wage

    • Heather

Good luck figuring it out, Suzanne!

    • Marge

I seldom shop at Kohl’s because of their prices but occasionally I do shop online for clearance items like kitchen towels if I also have a 30% off code. Anyway, last year I got a Kohl’s gift card for Christmas and bought several things at the store. Since I also had a 30% off code that I received in the mail, I thought it would be a great deal. The cashier rang up my items and then deducted the $50 gift card before applying the 30% discount so I only got the discount on the remaining amount, not the whole purchase. She said that is Kohl’s policy. I tell everyone not to buy Kohl’s gift cards for this reason.

      • Anna

That is totally incorrect always ask for a manager they shouldnt have gotten away with that

        • Marge

Since I seldom shop there I didn’t think to ask for a manager, thought it was their policy which is really wrong. Thanks for the response Anna, I will definitely ask for management if I ever get another gift card and it happens again.

          • laura

That IS the case with Kohl’s cash but definitely NOT a gift card. You had a very uninformed cashier!

          • Anna

you should mention it to customer service make a phone call, they may be able to give you a $10 email that you can use in the store. Doesnt hurt to try

      • Sarah

I just went through this today and asked the cashier what their policy was. She said I could use my %off coupon (applied first) and split my payment between my kohls card and gift card. She said their policy is to split 50/50 but she did less to my charge because my amount spent wasn’t that much. I’m sorry you had a bad experience-at least you know now for next time and I hope it’s a better experience!

      • Annadm

My mother works for kohls and said to go back to the store with your receipt if you still have that and have them give you the money back.

      • s

Worst customer service ever – I actually cancelled myKohlscreditcard yesterday and would rather pay an extra 30 percent elsewhere than shop at Kohls

      • patti

You just had a girl that didnt know what she was doing. You give yuor coupons first then yourgift cards. I have shopped theresince they opened and never hd an issues.

    • Laura

I worked for Kohls for over 4 year… yes the pay is not that great, but they are an awesome store for accomodating family/ work balance. They are open lots of hours so perhaps there is a time when they could work and someone besides a baby sitter could watch the kids. In regards to the issue with the gift card and 30% off. That was not correct and in fact the register does the calculation for them when it comes to deducting coupons, not the associate.. check your receipt again…. if it was Kohls cash then yes that comes off before the 30%, but that does not appy for a true gift card.

    • Angie

I worked at Kohl’s for about three weeks. I found that the toys are over priced. You can get a decent deal on clothing if you have a coupon. The main problem I had with Kohl’s is that they don’t take time to properly train the employees. The just hire you and then stick you out there without any real knowledge about how to help the customers. I was so frustrated! Kohl’s was one of my favorite places to shop, but after I got to see things behind the scenes, I don’t even like to shop there anymore. Some of the items they accepted as returns from customers, and then placed back on the sales floor were very surprising.

  2. Emily

Do you think they’ll have a % off code for card holders? I’m hoping that I get a 30% off code to use in the store and online for some of these items.

    • Britt

I hope so, too. Because the deals I’m seeing I was actually able to get already for a BETTER price with 30% off. I will tell you this though, last year on Tuesday they started the sales online

  3. kim

will the deals be available online, too?

  4. candz

Hi Collin or anybody, i am new to this so i need some info and clarification. How do we get a Rebate? Through credit to Kohls, to the company, to my credit card used to purchase, or cash? What if i pay in cash? Also, with the upcoming Black Friday deals, will I also be able to use Coupons on top of the deal price? Thank you.

    • Retta

the rebate could be directly to the manufacturer, or it could be to a kohl’s rebate center. i did one last year through kohl’s, and I think it was through their own rebate processing center. usually you just have to fill out a paper form with your address & other basic info, include your receipt & mail it in. then you’ll get a check a few (or several) weeks later. paying for cash and/or using coupons should not impact your ability to submit a rebate. 🙂

      • Retta

oh, and most of the time you have to include the upc. so if you’re intending to give the item of a gift, you’ll have to figure how much the recipient will or won’t mind a small rectangle of the box missing, haha

        • Melissa

I was just trying to figure out if I would need to cut out the UPC for the rebate or not…. guess this changes my gift giving ideas.

    • Brenda

I would recommend making a copy of your rebate & receipt & saving it until you get the rebate back. Last year I had a $10 rebate that I never got through Kohl’s, but when I took my copy into the store & talked with the store manager, he gave me $10 Kohl’s cash to replace it. I do this with all rebates (I have a folder I save them all in until the rebates come & then I shred them.) Rarely do I not receive a rebate, but it’s happened a couple of times & I’ve contacted the company & they’ve made it right.

  5. Minu

*Varsity Rolled Microfleece Mens Lounge Pants $4.99 (Reg. $240)

Is the original price $24 or $240?

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Woops! Just fixed that!

    • Mickie

      Seriously? Obviously it’s a typo…

      • Katy

        Haha!!! Mickie, agreed!

  6. Melissa

I too, cannot believe how over inflated their prices are-especially toy prices. Even with the 50% off, that what typical toy prices are at Meijer or Target and you don’t have to deal with the crazies on black friday. Overall Black Friday is looking rather dull this year-plan on shopping online.

  7. MG

I’ve been so spoiled with these amazing deals and great price matching, thanks to Collin 😉 Black Friday seems blah! Hahaha! I may stop to get the printer 😉

  8. Lauren

After looking at some of the ads that are out for Black Friday, does anyone know the best deal for a one cup coffee machine?

    • LynnNV

Sears will have the Keurig mini single-serve brewer on sale for $59.99. Ad says choice of black, silver or red. I have the red one at work and love it. This mini brewer retails for around $99.99. Sears will also have the Bosch Tassimo single-serve brewer for $49.99. HTH.

      • Lauren

        Thank you SO much!

  9. Kara

Just a reminder with buying gifts with Kohl’s cash, if your recipient returns the item they subtract the Kohl’s cash in the order of the return, so for instance, if you bought 2 $25 items to get $15 in Kohl’s cash and someone returns one item, that person would only get $10 back for that item instead of the full $25 or even $17.50…learned that the hard way with a gift last year for my sister where she only received $9 back for what I thought was a great deal on boots, but I ended up paying her the difference because I felt bad!

  10. Vivian

My goal is to get a Kitchen Aid stand mixer!! Hopefully Kohl’s will have good deal thats comprable to last year’s. Collin please post any stacks you find as we approach black friday!

    • Liz

Vivian, usually there is a rebate from Kitchenaid which makes the deal great..however so far i dont see any ongoing rebate…so the deal is presently not as good as last yr.There was a $50 free glass bowl and a optional $12 magazine deal which could be converted to cash.My suggestion is do your research..because KA deals happen throughout the year.Just my 2 cents..im sure there are many people in this forum who have other opnions.

  11. Cheryl

I must be spoiled with all the good deals out there too. Kohls BF ad is a bit disappointing. Their prices are really not that great for BF deals- especially toys!

  12. mamasweetpea

was contemplating on ordering now with 30% off or waiting until black friday. one of the toys I’m interested in MegaBloks first builder tub is currently at $36.99 which is $25.9 after 30%. It will be roughly the same on BF at 24.99… but for kohls cash earning it is $15 per $50 instead of $10 per $50 now.

    • Ritz

last two black fridays i have shopped at kohl’s.com, they had a 20% coupon on top of these prices. so might be worth the wait

  13. steph

Absolutely nothing impresses me with this ad. Yes, the prices on some items are inflated! Probably to make up for the $15 Kohls cash.

  14. SK

Hey Collin, thanks for all the deal round-ups. Are you planning on doing a consolidation list of the best deals by category, ie.. all iPads, or phones or housewares, or cameras etc by category? I know that is a lot to ask but was wondering. You could perhaps start a discussion topic and ask people to comment on their opinion about the best deal on something, say cookware or printers or laptop. Just a suggestion. I am in the market for couple things but am going cross eyed trying to figure the better/best deal and compare store pricing. Thanks in advance.

  15. Bekah

Are these prices online or in store only? The ninja blender for $39.99 seems like a steal, but I will be at my parents where there is no Kohls (or anything else lol).

    • sarah

They do have the same deals online. I always shop online to get the deals and free shpping.

  16. Gina

I’m not that impressed with this years BF ad. There are a few things I might get. Is the $99.99 Keurig coffee maker a good deal? I don’t drink coffee but my husband does and I thought he might like it. I seem to make the worse coffee. He is always going through drive thru to get coffee. I have heard people love the keurig kcups while others don’t like the taste from kcups. Not sure what to do? We have a small cheap Mr. Coffee so I’m not sure of that is why the coffee I make taste so bad or if it’s just me.

    • Mel

depends on how strong he likes his coffee. my husband hated the Keurig bc one k-cup wasn’t strong enough. He had to use two on the smallest water setting, so it was just a pain for him.

  17. Ashley

YAY! Getting my Mum a Samsonite piece of luggage for our vacation and $79 is way better on the wallet than $299!!! But I agree with everyone else the toy deals are really disappointing can find better at Target right now pre BF! But I guess Kohl’s isn’t known for selling toys so what can we expect?! Keeping my eyes peeled for a sweet Kitchenaid deal too…please keep us posted Collin!

  18. Ashley

The Norelco Sensotouch 1160X Rotary Razor Gift Set for $89.99 is the same one that there is a manufacturer coupon for. Can you submit for the rebate and use the manufacturer coupon since some kohls accepts them? I always get confused if the rebate is a Kohls rebate or a Norelco rebate….

    • terri

does anyone know if you can use the Norelco manufacturer cpn at kohl’s and submit for rebate

  19. Jessica

Just an FYI, don’t buy those BIG One towels. They are AWFUL quality. I bought some last year during the Black Friday sale and they fell apart within a couple months – threadbare in places and look like I’ve had them for years and years. I’ve had other towels for years from Target or JC Penney that are still in better shape. Yeah, getting them for a couple $ might seem like an awesome deal, but trust me, it isn’t worth it for the quality. I bought them for my guest bedroom, too, so they rarely get used.

  20. Eroica

Hi Collin! I was looking at the BF ad for Kohl’s and saw some great deals that you didn’t mention here. The Oneida 82 pc set service for 16 at 47.99 is a steal! My set for 8 people was $50 and that was a good deal at that price. The Corningware is another great deal at 19.99 after rebate.

  21. Lindak

I was wondering about the $99 Keurig too. The model looks good because it has 3 different sizes of cups. Looking at the ad, will it be available online Tuesday?

  22. Jen

I only shop Kohl’s when I get it for pennies. Since I don’t have credit cards, they keep sending me $10 off $10 to lure me in and the older ladies always ask if I would like to open a credit card. No, thank you. (One time a cashier got a little attitude with me saying that is why they sent it to me. I politely said, no thank you again.)

I look for things I need or gifts for family and friends that are in the $10 range. Add a 20% off coupon, typically found on coupons app, to make the deal sweeter. I also have a $100 gc given to me last year that I use to pay the taxes. =FREE!
