[h2s_box]OK – so I have a confession to make, these Target deals weren’t quite under $10… but they were just under $12!  I actually had cooked up a great scenario prior to leaving my house and of course, things didn’t go as planned. Items were either out of stock or not sold at my local Target. However, I made the most of the trip and still scored some great buys![/h2s_box]

I purchased everything below for just a wee bit under $12 before tax…

And yes, YOU can score the same (or similar) deals too! Just check out the details on my transactions below…

For $10.70 (including tax) at Target I scored the following: two bottles of Kraft tartar sauce, a Velveeta skillet meal, two boxes of Mini Wheats, a container of fresh strawberries, a box of Magnum ice cream bars, and two things of Right Guard deodorant! Plus I got back $0.50 from Checkout 51 for the strawberries, so really like $10.20! 🙂

      Awesome!! 🙂

I am very new to this site, but have used coupons here and there before. Now, my big dream is to get $200 worth of groceries for under $100. I have been checking out sale ads for all competing stores in my area, and reading Coupon Policies(Thanks to the Newbies tab), but can anyone tell me if the Target gift card scenarios fall under Walmart’s policy to match competitor coupons? I love this site and want to learn as much as possible!
Also, do coupons stating “one coupon per item” mean that you cannot stack them, like you did with the coffeemate deal? (Sorry for all the questions, but I want to learn).

  2. Mike

Thats so awsome im gunna copy what u did. And they are all printables. No searching for coupons!!!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      😀

I priced matched meijer’s little bites at target, got 5 for 10 then 2 of the boxes Were lowered with cartwheel and paid 1.25 for 2 of those. I also bought 2 special k’s that were lowered to 1.57 and had 1.00 off 2 and will submit for both ibotta offers. Also got the moments snacks and used cartwheel and a .70 off 2 peelie. Lastly, I price matched amazon’s elmo’s train price and then used 50% off cartwheel. Total was about 20 with red card! Awesome day! 🙂 thanks for all the help with these savings!! 😀

  4. Nicole

I just noticed this evening that there is a 20% off assorted Capri Sun 10pks that would bring down the OOP cost.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Hi Nicole,

Since that Cartwheel is only valid on the 10-ct packs, it won’t work on the 20-ct packs (which go with the gift card promo).

      • Guest2

Thanks for the heads up on the Coffee-mate coupons! I love that stuff!

        • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

          You are so welcome!!

  7. mom

I have been saving my target gift cards for November/December shopping…amazing how they can add up in my drawer..$5 and $10 gift cards after a year will go a long way with Christmas shopping 🙂

    • Becky

      That’s a great idea!

    • S

I do that too. My hubby thinks it is great, and my friends think I am crazy for saving them. I am glad I am not the only one. They add up fast when I buy the diapers and formula as well for my little one.

    • Melanie

I do this too! My friends think it’s odd, but it definitely goes a long way around Christmas time!

    • Anne

I think that is great, too. We save $40/month in a separate savings account. I keep meaning to do swag bucks because it wold be great to save for christmas.

    • Jessica

Did this last year and had over $120 to spend on Black Friday….really stretches my dollar 😉 but I admit, I have to take them out of my wallet or I want to spend them on extras 😉

    • Melissa

I save them and give them to my nieces for birthday and christmas presents! They are teenagers and they think it is cute how I give them a bunch of $5 gift cards! This past year I gave them each 20 $5 gift cards ($100). They loved it! I also signed them up for shopkick so I remind them to scan for points whenever they go to the mall or target!

      • Kristy

I keep all my gift cards in a binder assorted by group. Yeah I am that bad. LOL Anytime I get a gift card from Crowdtap or anything else it goes right in there for Christmas!

  8. Elaine

Collin, what was your original trip going to be? 😉

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

LOL! Well, I was going to get a few of the Right Guard Clear deodorants (but they were completely wiped out 🙁 )… and I had planned on taking advantage of the Dial gift card offer, but my local Target didn’t seem to carry the variety I wanted.

    • Shanna

My cashier at target told me If I use coupons cartwheel won’t work is this true.

      • AR.

Soo false!! Per cartwheels FAQ page, you are allowed to use 1 target coupon (such as a printable or mobile), 1 manuf coupon and cartwheel per item. The only thing about cartwheel is that it figures the % off after any paper or mobile target coupons have been deducted. I do give the cashier my cw barcode to scan last bc it has frozen the registers giving it first.

  9. Elaine

I got the right guard deal-three OOP for $0.68. Mobile coupons for 2 apples, an onion, and a small package of pork chops. With my redcard, the total was $3.00 even. A healthy dinner and a great smelling husband for less than a big mac!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      LOVE it! 😀

  10. Ashley

I hope to go there tomorrow!

  11. Cathy

Can you buy more than one product on the cartwheel deals? Like 50% off two of the kelloggs Special K moments? Or is the cartwheel only good on one?

    • AR.

There is a limit of 4 like cw offers per transaction, but the kelloggs offers are limited to 2.

  12. Van

I had an awesome target trip yesterday. A gallon of milk, 3lb bag of apples, 1 pound of grapes, a bag of frozen cherries, 3pk of Kcups, 2 Special K moments, market pantry deli turkey, 2 chobani yogurts and 3 color wonder coloring books for 15.04. I love target!

  13. Mandy

I always thought that the gift card was valid until the next day? Was that not ever true or did they change it?

    • Shea

Sorry, not true Mandy! It’s like a regular gift card!

    • S

I don’t think that is true. I have been saving my gift cards every year til the end of the year for about 5 yrs now.

    • Ashley

I’ve always been able to make that my first order then use the gift card toward the rest

  14. Alison

I love how you display your purchases! It sounds silly but I have actually done this at home a few times when I have had especially impressive hauls. My friends and family are probably very tired of getting these pictures with texts saying, “Guess how much I paid for all of this?!”

  15. Jen

I really like seeing your purchases with coupons and how you score great deals. It makes me happy this isn’t extreme couponing style. Your couponing is more for the average couponer:)

  16. anne

Random, But I’m working on a macbook air and just tried printing those KFR coupons and it gave me some message about “you did not choose an application to open….” message. Has anyone else ever seen this and how did you get around it? I’ll try another computer in the mean time 🙂

    • Jenni

I had to right click on the program and manually open it (Red Plum’s coupon printer Print @ Home). If there is a question mark in the lower left hand corner of the error message, click on that and it will tell you what to do. Good luck! It took me a while to get it figured out!

  17. Monica

I found another match-up today. Ragu pizza sauce is $0.97 per jar, use the $1/2 from a recent RP and get 2 jars for $0.47 each. We LOVE homemade pizza in our house. I stocked up with Pilsbury crusts last week at Kroger ($1.25ea before coupons).

  18. Kay B

Are Capri Roarin’ Waters included in the buy 3- 20pks get a $5 gift card? Does anyone know?

  19. Priscilla

I just found an email from Kelloggs with a $.70 off 1 of the Special K moments bites. The subject is ‘Slam Dunk! BIG SAVINGS & B-Ball Recipes Inside!’ Makes for an even better deal! Couldn’t get the coupons on the regular Kelloggs site to print. Something’s screwed up with java.

  20. Heather

There were a lot of items we needed refills on in our household (including medicine, laundry detergent, groceries, pet supplies, paper products, etc.). After seeing your deals posted, I went to Target. I spent around $200 for everything (a giant cart full!), but I ended up saving around $150 thanks to coupons, Cartwheel, sales, free gift cards, etc. So thank you, Colin, for the heads’ up on more great deals!

  21. Amber

Anyone else having issues printing from redplum since they switched their coupon printer. Ive tried 3 different computers, all which are updated with the most current Java. It asks to run, I hit Run and nothing it doesnt print. I know its not my computer ive tried 3!

    • Brenda

      Amber,
      You could try switching browsers.
I normally use Chrome but couldn’t get coupons to print. However, I have had no issues printing coupons using IE or Firefox.

    • faith

Amber, I have Mac. With coupons using java, I usually have to go into my Safari Preferences, make sure java is “enabled” & then “manage websites” & change to “always allow”. Then I can print no problem. I always go back in & change everything to “ask” after I’ve finished. Hope this is clear. Good luck.

    • Melissa Stone

It’s because you updated java the java 51 doesn’t work correctly with it usually alot of people are having problems due to the new update i just re downgraded mine to the java 45 works no problem after that.
