Calling all Kindle owners! If you purchased a Kindle book published by Hachette, HarperCollins, Simon & Schuster, Penguin or Macmillan between 4/1/10 and 5/21/12 on Amazon.com, check your Inbox for a possible credit. The email will be coming from account-update@amazon.com and will have the Subject Line “You have a new _____ book credit in your Amazon account”. Your credit will automatically be applied to your next purchase of any Kindle book or a print book sold by Amazon.com, regardless of publisher (you don’t have to do anything to claim your credit). The credit applied to your purchase will appear in your order summary. Click here for more information.

Did you qualify for any credits?!

(Thanks, Melissa & Gina!)

I got one from Barnes and Noble-actually I haven’t gotten it but I got an e-mail stating that it would be credited to me in 1-3 days. It’s for $8.XX. It says I will get an e-mail when it’s deposited to my account and I will also get a printable certificate that I can use in store!!!

      • Laurie

        Hmmm
I received the B&N email stating 3 days but no dollar amount. Oh well, anything will be nice. It’s something I didn’t expect.

        • Jennifer

          I didn’t see a dollar amount in the e-mail I received, either. I’ll have to double-check.

          • Jennifer

So, there is no dollar amount in my e-mail, but I was able to take the settlement ID # and find the amount I would get through the Barnes and Noble website FAQ. I will get 1.46. Don’t spend it all in one place, I guess? 🙂

  4. Lauren

I got a “notepad” app the other day on my kindle and was given a credit of .99. The app was free too.

  5. Brianna

  8. Kelli Sanchez

  11. Cathy

Barnes and Noble NOOK book credit…over $30 🙂

  12. Julie Toms-Fago

    Oh boy! I received $25.57!!

  13. Greg

Just got an email from Amazon. We are getting a $57 credit!!! I did see in the fine print that the credit can only be used towards future e-book purchases thru Amazon (as opposed to using it towards other non-book Amazon purchases).

  14. Jennifer

    I got $1.46

  15. LeLee

    .73! Lol

  16. Rebecca

$150 dollars. I knew it would be a lot… My MIL reads like a crazy woman!

    • Gina

      Wow! Awesome!!

  17. Charity

I got $2.19 and ended up finding a “Lego City” paperback book that was priced at exactly $2.19 – my son will love it! =)

  18. Clare Mitchell

I received two dollars and change.

  19. Cheryl

I got $4.63. Nice surprise on a otherwise quiet Tuesday!

  20. rebecca

$ .73 here too! Makes me wonder how they arrived at that number. I’m guessing there are total spending brackets and depending on which bracket you fell in, you got X amount of money. I guess 73 cents is better than nothing so yippeee, lol. 🙂

    • Gina

It’s based on the numbers of books you bought from the publishers in the lawsuit .73 x # kindle ebooks

  21. Theresa Miller

    I ended up with a 196$ credit. Apparently I read a lot.

    • Amanda

Oh man! That’s enough to fund maybe a month of your reading right? lol

  22. Maggie

It also depends on the state you live in. It’s not a “promotion.”

It’s actually a class action settlement for alleged price fixing — the amount you get depends on the settlement negotiated in your state and the number of e-books you purchased in the past. Minnesota’s Attorney General apparently negotiated a better deal than other states.

Case documents, including what you are settling if you are a member of the class, can be found here: https://ebooksagsettlements.com/

There is a link there for a “check request” option, but claims had to be submitted by 10/21/13 to get a check instead of a credit.

  23. Suzanne H

    Hubby got almost $12!

  24. Tabby510

111.02 from Barnes and Noble! I can’t wait lol I obviously read a lot
