My email also included the Bonus Star offer pictured above – Buy any food item after 2PM from April 17th-22nd and snag a Bonus Star (note that this offer cannot be shared and you must pay with your registered Starbucks card to get the Bonus Star)!
Remember, you earn 1 Star every time you pay with your registered Starbucks Card or Starbucks mobile app at a participating Starbucks. And if you’re a Gold Member, it only takes 12 stars to redeem for a completely FREE beverage! Awesome! 😀

I got this email today, and wanted to share the scenario I came up with to maximize my savings. This is a YMMV as it depends on your participation in the bagged Starbucks deal at Target. Here is what I plan on doing:
Purchase 7 medium coffees at Starbucks=$14
Get 7 stars plus 7 bonus stars= 14 stars
14 stars = 1 free drink plus 2 stars towards my next free drink
Purchased 10 bags of Starbucks coffee at Target and paid $26.90 after coupons and enter the star code found on the bags = 10 stars
10 stars plus the two from the bonus star deal =12 stars = another free drink
Submit for the two $5 gift cards for buying Bagged coffee = $10 free which is another 5 medium coffees for free!

Teresa, there was an extreme price cut on certain flavors of the 20oz bagged Starbucks. Reg. price is $12.99 and it was marked down to $3.49 and then I had $2/2 coupons.

One great tip someone posted a while ago, if you get order two drinks, pay for them separately to get two stars. Otherwise if they are in the same transaction, you only get one star. I don’t know why but that has happended to me and never knew why and since then, I go the extra step to do two transactions and it’s been fine.

I hope it does. I drink iced VIA every day and I have been saving up codes from the new boxes I have bought for the past 2 weeks between Target and Kroger. I have 30 codes ahead waiting for a good Dash!
All, just remember that any free 12 star/birthday offer will expire within 30days of receiving it. I work for Sbux, and once the offer expires it’s gone! There is no way of getting back your “freebie”.

I didn’t receive the offer this time, but have in the past and decided to test it out. The way it works is that you can get a bonus star EACH day during the promotion. (Actually, if you chose to, you could purchase more than one food item in separate transactions and you could receive two stars (1 regular star + 1 bonus star) for each transaction. It’s an easy way to rack up some extra stars either to make it to the gold level or to earn free drinks 🙂 Just make sure you purchase the food item(s) with your registered gift card AFTER 2pm. Quick question: let’s say I was going to buy a food item everyday for the next three days. Would i just get the 3 regular + 3 bonus stars from the food purchase. Or would i get the 3 regular + 3 bonus stars from the food purchase + another 3 bonus stars from buying in a row?
You will get your 3 regular + 3 bonus immediately, and then you will receive an email with a star code for another 3 stars.

I still have not received my bonus stars. I emailed them about, but have not heard back from them. I should receive three stars for making a purchase three days in a row, plus another star for purchasing a food item after 2 pm. AND, I bought a drink this past Saturday and Sunday and have not seen those stars show up on my card yet, but the transaction showed. 😛 Go figure…
