    Collin I have suffered from IBM all my life. I mean since I was a baby. The doctor told my mom that I was too lazy to go. (Seriously?!?) I have found that as soon as I find something that works, my body adapts to it. The only thing that I have truly found that helps is large quantities of water. Smart Water seems to work especially well. Walking also helps. I hope you find a combination that works for you.

    I have the same IBS as Colin. I am seeing a lot of no coffee comments, which isn’t a big deal for me, but I do drink a lot of iced tea and chai tea (both decaf). Does anyone know if this triggers it as well?

    For those of you with IBS, I would recommend making your own kefir (water or milk). When you ferment it yourself, it ensures that the cultures are active, as opposed to store bought ones which are often killed through pasteurization. I got grains from a friend a couple of years ago, when my toddler was having constipation issues, and it cleared it right up. Water kefir in particular tastes great (like a fizzy fruit juice spritzer when mixed with a splash of juice) and is the best option if you’re dairy free. You can buy them here (I am in no way affiliated, and would give you some for free if you lived nearby): https://www.culturesforhealth.com/starter-cultures/kefir-cultures.html and you can read my post about making water kefir here: https://fromscratchclub.com/2013/01/24/diy-project-water-kefir/
    Also, putting my feet up on something like the squatty potty also helps! ๐Ÿ™‚

    Hi Collin,
    I don’t have IBS but know several people who deal with it and I’m sorry you do :(. I haven’t read through all the comments so someone has probably mentioned this but I will just in case. Peppermint oil has helped the people I know when they have flareups. They use it in capsule form. Also, for years I have used a combination of peppermint, ginger, fennel and anise. It helps so much – even the nausea & bowel problems caused by migraines. I hope you get relief!

    Hi Collin,
    Nice saving video. I will definitely visit Staples this week. BTW, I like your cardigan, I have been looking for such black/gray plaid cardigan for long time, but didn’t have any luck. From where you bought it? TIA ๐Ÿ™‚

    Hi Collin: I have to tell you about this Staples thing – I took your advice and went there today – unfortunately, they were out of the Keurigs ๐Ÿ™ – BUT: I decided to get the 5 ream package of paper-it was $26.99 – 2.99 (coupon)= 24.00 AND THEN when i entered the REBATE stuff – I get a $22 PREPAID VISA GIFT CARD for this purchase – I scored 5 reams of paper for $2 (plus the “free” one after rebate): 6 REAMS FOR $2!! Total for 6 reams of paper, 1 pkg erasable markers,1 pr. scissors, the Charmin 16pk double roll and a $2 clearance calendar: $12.83! Thank you!!

    I know someone who was misdiagnosed with IBS for years. Her symptoms sounded just like yours (especially when she was traveling). She later found out she didn’t have IBS, but really had Crohn’s disease. She has been treated for that and her symptoms have drastically improved. It might be worth getting a colonoscopy to see what’s going on. Good luck!!

    I scanned through the comments and didn’t see anyone with the same question so if I’m a repeat … sorry lol. I was just wondering when it comes to the Easy Rebates … do they reset? For instance I got the 5 pk paper last time it was on Easy Rebates and that one ream. Can I do it again now or will it be denied since I’ve already received a check and a visa gift card?

    Thanks =)

    P.S. you hugging that Keriug was hilarious!! =)

    Collin, I love your videos but missed this one due to my Grandfather passing away. I was watching your current video posted today when I saw this one pop up at the end. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I noticed you had the low fodmap book. I have IBS-D and went on the low fodmap diet about 6 months ago. Some of my main triggers are onions and garlic…which are in almost everything. I cut out everything and feel like 99% better. The diet is hard to follow at first but totally worth it when you start feeling better. I see a GI specialist and a dietitian. I definitely recommend making an appointment with a dietitian if you are going to follow the diet. If you have any questions, please contact me. I have done so much research, there are thousands of recipes on pinterest and a ton of IBS bloggers to help out there. You are not alone!
