*I did a lot or research on car seats for my daughter and found that this seat is one of the safest made in the US. I loved all of the reviews and qualities of this seat. It has a tall back, fitting kids longer in size and height, especially for rear facing! My daughter is so comfortable in this seat. I would buy it again in a heartbeat!
*This thing is really well-built. I know it is more pricey than others on the market, but when it comes to safety I don’t think you should under buy. Get the best you can afford. *We LOVE this car seat and I’ve recommended it more times then I can even remember. One big plus is it is made out of metal instead of plastic like a lot of other seats. This allows it to have a longer life (I believe this seat lasts ten years when others expire after 5-7). Yes, car seats expire and if you’re going to follow any expiration date it should probably be your child’s car seat!

We have these car seats. The kids love them. Be careful though, rear facing takes up more room then most others. They are also not a breese to install (we used to have evenflo with the quick latch. My extra tall 4 year old fits in it nicely with the harness still. My 2 year old doesn’t sit up as high, so he complained at 1st about not being abke to see out the windows. We can fit 3 kids across the back seat of our nissan rouge with them too.
Love this seat! My daughter is very tall and it was hard to find a seat for her, also i didnt want to buy tons of seats for her. And has great safety ratings (diono also sells a seatbelt rachet thing to tighten the belt, which helps to install the belt better) Super heavy duty(can be hard to move). If we have another child i will def be buying this again, its great for lil babies too.
The MightyTight to help tighten the install is extremely unsafe as it can overstretch the belt. You only need less than 1 inch of movement at the beltpath for a safe install. 🙂

I have the Britax Marathon, Boulevard, and a Classic 50. And I am also purchasing one of these tonight. A friend of mine has 3 of them installed on one row in her car, she LOVES them. My favorite part is that they last for 10 years before expiring. This time, I know I won’t have to keep buying new seats because the old ones expire. Can’t wait til it comes in!
No experience with this seat, but we have the Britax Pavilion and are very happy with it. Easy to install, easy to get toddler in and out. He is 18 months and seems very comfortable rear facing.
I have this one and the britax boulevard, and they are both really nice. This one takes up a lot less room (it fits in my husband’s Mini Cooper convertible) and feels nicer. The bigger plus to the britax is it is much easier to wash the cover. If I remember correctly, you have to mess with the harness on the radian. My son doesn’t seem to prefer one over the other.
Britax shells are typically outgrown quickly rearfacing. If your kiddo is below the 30%tile for height britax is fine, however much taller than that and theyll outgrow it rearfacing before the ideal 4 years 🙂 my daughter is 3, 38.5inches and still has plenty of room to rearface in this seat

Does anyone have a problem tightening the straps?? It’s not as easy to tighten it to the level it’s recommended as other car seats?
It uses a ratcheting system. You have to tug tug tug as opposed to a straight pull 🙂

I have been looking at the britax carseats because of the recline back. How is the recline on this carseat? We travel and I like to recline the carseat for my sleeping 2 year old.
One thing I love about the Diono we have is the recline. It’s just enough that my girls can fall asleep and their heads don’t fall forward and get all wonky looking if you know what I mean which helps them sleep much longer and more comfortably.
Can thus be used for new born ??
Yes it can, might be a real pain though if your hospital requires you to put baby in car seat before leaving the room.

Because it looks like you can’t just take it in and out of the car. Removing an entire seat of this kind each time is not fun with a newborn 🙂
any hospital requiring you to put a baby in the car seat before leaving the room is beyond ridiculous, and I would have my baby at another facility…mom of 4! However, I would always always want an infant carrier car seat for my baby, taking them in and out of the car when they are newborn is way easier if they are snug in their seats and can stay asleep through shopping or while you put groceries away

Another thing to keep in mind newborns sleep a lot so getting the baby in and out of the car might mean waking her up each time. Unless you really don’t plan on going anywhere the first few months then its a great idea. Im thinking about buying this for my 4 month old since she seems to get sweaty in her carseat and shes not a baby that sleeps in a carseat so I wont have to wake her up and worry about her not falling back to sleep.
I agree. I’m buying this for my 4 months old, who is very tall and will outgrow the infant seat really soon. You don’t want to have to move the newborn all the time, much easier to lift a carseat in and out and I actually find myself using the snap and go super lightweight stroller the most. Got it on craigslist used and it’s my fav stroller to use going in and out of stores. As far as hospital goes, it takes a while to install the seat and it’s bulky and heavy, and my hospital required the baby to be in the seat so this car seat would’ve been extremely akward to carry and then take time outside the hospital to install it…..not fun.

Yeah they take back the kohl’s cash earned from the amount returned.
and recently it seems they are double dipping on returns, they take the kohls cash from the item you earned it on, and should you happen to need to return an item you redeemed it on they take it from there too, had a long discussion with corporate (I spend about 9 grand a year at kohls so I was getting quite irritated) and they agreed that I was correct but haven’t offered a solution or adjusted their return policy

My daughter is almost 9…she is close to 60lbs. She says the other kids at school are no longer using “car seats”. I think this is ok for her? She is a very average sized kid at school. Not petite and not large at all. I would like her to stay in a booster until she can sit like a young teen and she doesn’t. Thanks for any imput.
I wouldn’t. I had bought this seat for my daughter when she was 6 and she’s average height and on the thin side and she didn’t fit. I bought a britax frontier instead. I don’t know about a 9 year old in it though. The frontier also boosters up to 120lbs. My 9 year old is in a backless booster now.
My 7 yr old still fits in his fine. He isn’t “small” either.
Maximum height in this seat is 44″.
No that is the max height for rearfacing. Max height for forward facing is 57″.

We have 4 of these car seats. I guess it sort of goes without saying that we love them 🙂 We have two in each car. Our 4 and 2 year old love them. They are especially nice for small cars because of the low profile. I would highly recommend this brand to anyone. This is an incredible price!

These are great seats. I bought 2 last time they had the baby sale + 30% for card holders + earn Kohl’s cash, they came out to around $160 each if you consider the Kohl’s cash earned. $200 is still a great deal though, I love that you can rear face in them so much longer than other seats.
We bought the diono when my daughter was 1.5 yrs old and she just turn 3 yesterday. We spent 2 months researching for one that allows her to be rear facing as long as possible and with good safety rating. We finally chose this and our daughter loves it. We like that it will grow with her since it converts to booster seat when she gets older. So no more buying car seat for her. Even she is 3, she is still rear facing… Probably will be rear facing for a good while
