So as I mentioned just a bit ago, Walgreens is offering up a 20% off regularly priced items store coupon – valid to use tomorrow, August 20th only! If this coupon works like the last Walgreens coupon that was released, you will likely be able to use it on a buy one get one free sale and a buy one get one 50% off sale. A few months ago they changed their computer program so that the senior discount (which works the same as the Friend & Family discount) doesn’t apply to the sale items. I used to be able to get the 20% off on the sale price but that is no longer the case. I expect that the Friends & Family 20% off is the same. A cashier told me that the Senior discount is the same as the employee discount and that’s how they ring it up.
It does work on regularly priced items. But I really loved the register reward deals with the 20% off the sale price.
I didn’t think Walgreens accepted coupons on free items anymore?
None of the deals posted are using coupons on the free item. When I initially glanced over the post I was thinking the same thing, but than I read through the deals more carefully. Look at the parts under the ‘deal scenario’ and see the number of items it says to purchase. No coupons on free items so we should be good to go 🙂 . Hope this helps!!

At our Walgreens, the Hefty bags are not Buy 1 get 1 free, but Buy 1 get one 1/2 off. Definitely not as nice deal 🙁
According to the new coupon policy, you can not use $1 coupon on the 50% off Rimmel Nail. The coupon can not exceed the price of the item. At my Walgreens, the rimmel nail is 1.69 each, so if you bought 2 1.69 + .84 = 2.53 – .34 = 2.19, can only use one coupon -1 = 1.19 for 2 which is still a good price.
Confusion still exists for both consumers and cashiers. We are all ethical people (or try to be). Evelyn, thanks for clearing it up.
My Wags explained that the total value of the coupon(s) cannot exceed the transaction total (which I also believe is in the coupon policy) Since the total of the items equals $2.68, I can use both coupons. However if it was a $1.50 coupon, then I’d could only use 1 coupon, using 2 would exceed the transaction total.
Walgreens has become my least favorite store to shop (I have to say they are now below Walmart on my list LOL!!)
I went to Wal, last night and tried to get the Caress, BOGO, and use 2, $1.00 coupons. I was also purchasing the tampons that were free with RR. I only could use the $3.00 RR that i had from last week or the manufacting cpns. It should have at least let me use one of the $1.00 off cpn for the caress and the $3.00 RR from last week. I’m not sure what has changed but…this store is getting so bad about accepting cpns.
Has anyone tried the arm & hammer detergent? Do you like it? I normally use tide but ran out and this is a good deal!
We’ve always used it and love it! We also have an HE washer, not sure if that matters.
Consumer reports claims that A&H is just as good as Tide, I switched years ago and love the smell of most of the A&H better than the Tides. 🙂

The 20% off Q didn’t work for me for the arm&hammer deal. Is this b/c it is a promotion? It was still a good deal. Should I call?
I am wondering if the 20% off will work with the hefty bags and the arm and hammer since it appears to be a sale promotion not regular price as 20% coupon calls for.
20% does work on Hefty bags. I just did it.
I did the Hefty deal and it did work. The Arm and Hammer will not work because it is on sale for $6.79. The regular price is $6.99.
Did not work for me either. Actually it didn’t work for anything I had a coupon on. 🙁
FYI the discount is 35% off both items if you get 1 at 20% off and 1 at 50% off. To me this is easier to figure. So if there’s something else in store that’s BOGO50% and you want to figure out how much the F&F coupon would save you (assuming it would work), just multiply the regular price by .65 and that’s how much you will pay for each wyb 2 or multiples of 2.
Does this count as a coupon in your coupon to items ratio? If I’m only buying one item and I’m using a manufacturer’s coupon on it, can I still use the 20% off coupon, or do I need to have a filler too? Thanks!

20% coupon is not valid on sale price item. It’s written on the coupon “valid on regular price items”.

That is a sale price at $6.79 so it will not work. I did not buy.
i haven’t tried this yet but I don’t think it will work since the 20% off coupon excludes sale items and the arm and hammer is on sale B1G2 free
