Target has The One Spot 70% off on Halloween items, along with some ‘fall/Thanksgiving’ decor too! And, I found several coloring books, crayons, containers (2 to a set) on ‘red dot’ clearance! Lastly, the pumpkin buckets were marked at $0.50, so after the Cartwheel for buckets – they were only $0.30![/h2s_box]

My Target had a lot of stocking stuffer items at 70% off in the One Spot. I was able to get stocking stuffers for my entire classroom. I was able to get the four packs of Rose Art play dough for $.30, plus light up balls, silly putty, Crayola twistables and markers and more! I work in a low income school, and I give a stocking every Christmas to each one of my students, so with these deals I will be able to fill their stockings at a fraction of the cost!

    • Brandy

That is amazing of you Anne. What a sweet thing to do for children who will definitely appreciate it.

    • Katie

How sweet! Those kids are lucky to have such a thoughtful teacher!

    • Jaime

What is the symbol on those items? i.e. black triangle, blue square, red circle, etc?

      • Jessica

I believe they are red circle. I got quite a few gift bags for .30 each!

    • Denise

Yea for teachers! Great idea, Anne!

  2. Theresa

Got up and up small dishes on clearance today plus cartwheel were $1.41. Frankenberry with cartwheel was $1.40. Baby’s first Halloween pj’s in kids section were $4.98

  3. Heather

I used coupons plus Cartwheel and scored Halloween paper plates, granola bars, juice boxes, Softsoap hand soap, pretzels, popcorn, fruit snacks and more for $22!

  4. Rebecca

My kids are past the dress up stage but just wanted to remind those with little ones that this is a great time to get stuff for the Christmas, birthdays, etc. for making a dress up box. Full costumes, silly hats, wigs, glasses, etc. all put in a trunk make a great gift.

    • Kimberly

That’s what I’ve done the past couple years for part of my daughter’s Christmas. I wait till 90% and poof great Christmas present! 🙂

    • Katrina

My daughter asked for Dees up clothes for Christmas. 🙂 I will be making my rounds tomorrow.

    • Erin

Do note that some of these costumes don’t hold up well. I got my daughter the cutest witch costume for $2.50 last year and it fell apart within an hour! Even at only $2.50, I’m not entirely sure it was worth it. Not saying this isn’t a good idea–just that you should think of the costumes as disposable and spend whatever you think one-time use is worth to you. If it lasts longer, it’s a bonus.

    • Emily

I was just coming here to say the same thing! I was the Christmas Hero with two of my young nieces! I bought a ton of discount costumes and created a dress-up trunk! For the one that lived locally, I bought a discounted storage ottoman and filled it with dresses. I also glued an ikea mirror on the inside of the lid. For the one that lived across the country, I bought one of those fabric storage bins and stuff to decorate it with her name. It looked like I spent a ton of money, but I didn’t. I even threw in some costumes and accessories that I found at second hand stores.

  5. Nikki

Collin, how many days a week do you go to Target? lol.

  6. rene

Paper bags with an orange stripe were .99 for a 90 pack.

    • rn30032

that is what i got Rene…perfect for lunch or whatever
      i got 5
      I am in atlanta

  7. Melissa

There is a Cartwheel offer for 30% off the pumpkin push-ins valid through today. I got two for $2.45 each. Saving for next year!

  8. momof3

Got up&up heavy duty paper plates packs for $1.41 after cartwheel! Really needed some and I stocked up. Also in the one spot I found small pooh board books for .30 cents, perfect stocking stuffer for my 1 year old

  9. Mim

Pretty picked over in Christiana Delaware. The halloween section was a mess with things thrown all over the floor in the aisles. I did find mr. potato head pumpkin push ins for $2.45, orange striped paper bags for .99, light up window pumpkin for $4 and lots of dollar spot items that were on clearance for .70. Candy wasn’t really a good deal at only 30%. Hoping some will still be there when it goes to 70%.

  10. Rachel

Not much left for non-candy items in the east SF Bay Area. Picked up a couple little wall sticker decorations, and a halloween straw sippy cup. VERY bare shelves. I doubt anything will be left when it goes to 70% off!

    • annadm

what store? Pleasant hill was gone in minutes pittsburg still has a bunch that store waits until it goes to 70%

  11. Loretta

On another note, CVS had all their fall and Halloween candy at 75 percent off today. They had a ton of it. Needless to say, I stocked up well! :-). Their other Halloween items were all at 50 percent off as was Walgreens. Their Halloween candy was 50 percent off.

  12. Sue

I am thinking if going for the Red Card and would like to know if I will get the 5% off even if I use a target gift card to pay for the whole purchase?

    • Jennifer K.

No, you only get 5% off of whatever you pay for with the Red Card.

      • Sue

        Thanks😊

    • Lisa

The target red card credit card is the last thing for a purchase so the 5% comes off at the very last moment. If you are using a giftcard that will cover the entire order then you would not be using the target card and no 5% off.

    • Kelly

You will only get 5% off on the purchases that are paid for with the red card. So if you spent $25 and used a $10 gift card, you would only get 5% off of $15.

  13. Angela

My store still had a ton. The Halloween trick or treat bucket cartwheel 40% was still valid so I got two buckets for .30 each! Lots of half off Halloween clothing and some was circo and got another 10% off there. Gel window clings were 30% off in the dollar section so ended up being cheaper than the 50% in the Halloween section (those started at $3).

  14. Sabrina

Our store did something different and had 40% off of all Halloween (food and non-food) today!!??

    • Kevin

that is quite weird haha! i’ve never seen a target clearance for 40% off. Seasonal stuff usually goes in the 30% then 50% then 70% then 90% order. Food and candy will always be less than non food items so im not sure why your target is doing 40%. Did you try price checking some of the items to see if they rang up as 40% off?

      • sabrina

Yes I did price check and it was 40% Some signs even said “40%, taken off at register” so we had to tell the cashiers to do the discount, however most stuff was price checking ok. I’ve been doing the holiday clearance sales for years and this is the first time I’ve seen them do this! this is at the target closest to me, but I haven’t checked the others ones that are a bit further away, but I might go do that tomorrow!

  15. Jess

I picked up quite a few costumes for 90 percent off last year. Hoping they make it that long!

  16. Amelia

The quality of many of the costumes is awful. I purchased several princess costumes last year at 70% off and they ripped apart without hardly any wear.

  17. Jennifer K.

Is anyone else noticing that clearance shopping isn’t as much fun as it used to be? I used to be able to pick up REALLY NICE stuff a week or more after a holiday at 90% off. Now it’s all picked over and almost gone before it hits 70%. Not sure if it’s because the stores are putting out less to begin with or if more people are buying at full price.

    • Jennifer B

Yes! My Target just put their summer stuff at 70% off a week ago!!! It sat at 30 and 50% for a few months!

    • Mer

I went to my local Target this morning here in NJ and I found some great summer clearance items at 50-70%. I found the Coleman BBQ tool set for $9.98, large bags of potting soil for $3, a fifty foot hose for $8, large garden rake for $5 and lots of Halloween items for 50%. Also make sure to check the nail polish. I was able to get Halloween Sinful Colors (black, glow in dark, clear, green glitter and purple/orange glitter for .99 each. Many things that were on the 30% shelves actually rang up at 50%. Also, if you have a CVS near-by their candy is 50% and when I checked out I got $4 Extracare Bucks so I paid .19 for 2 bags of M&Ms.

      • Teresa

        Hi Mer,

How did you get the mms for .19 cents at cvs? Did the ecb print out? Thanks

        • Mer

          Teresa,
They were 50% off making them $2.10 and $2.09 per bag and when my receipt printed it had a $4.00 ECB coupon at the bottom so the cashier let me use it on the transaction. I only paid $.19 out of pocket.

          • Teresa

Thanks for the reply. Can I ask which M&m’s triggered the ecb?

            • Mer

I bought a bag of peanut and one peanut butter.

    • MommySpendsLess

I noticed that too. It seems to be all clearance, not just seasonal/holiday. I’m not sure if more people are shopping at Target, if blogs/forums/TV shows are making more people aware of how to find/where to look for deals or if stores are pulling some stuff back or stocking less. Mine seem to have stuff left but as soon as it hits 30% off it all disappears. I’ve noticed my local Targets are getting better at marking things and moving them to the clearance section too. It used to be sometimes shirts, socks, baking or paper/plastic goods would be marked down but not stickered or moved so if I had the patience for a treassure hunt I could find goodies for 90%.

    • Erin

Definitely! I’ve always shopped postholiday clearance for the next year. Since the recession, I noticed stores carry a bit less merchandise, Target has been offering pretty good deals (especially Cartwheel deals) before the holiday to move it, plus LOTS of sites post when each markdown takes place–even though stores don’t mark down on the same schedule. My stores are *always* behind in marking down postholiday clearance and I dread when Collin and others post about clearance. My theory is that people go and buy even if it hasn’t been marked as low as the posts they read, and that kind of wipes things out. I was so happy to see Collin’s note about waiting it out for higher reductions. Otherwise, though, I think there is a better overall selection of clearance. I found some nice deals on housewares, kid’s furniture, clothes ($5 boys’ size 10 Wrangler shorts) and toys ($9 Creeper with sound, reg. $30!) recently. I don’t bother trying to find the clearance stuff posted because clearance varies and once it is posted, everyone is looking for it.

  18. Pam

Meijer has their Halloween items marked down 50% off too!

  19. jessica s.

I did great! 50% off candy cvs extra bucks I had = $25 of candy for $5, 50% off candy at walgreens, 70% off fall dollar spot items (got lots for thanksgiving!) Then 50% off nice paper plates and plastic cutlery, just 1.49 each at Target!

  20. Jennifer

I received my target text with the new coupons as I was shopping at Target Saturday morning. They had 2-pk Puffs fall design boxes for $1.49 and there was a $1/1 multipack text coupon and a $.25/1 Puffs multipack manuf. coupon. 2-pk of fall design Puffs boxes for $.12 each.

    • Juju

Thanks for the tip on the Puffs!

  21. Stephanie

Atlantic Station in Atlanta, GA still had a ton of stuff in the dollar bins at 70% off- I was able to pick up flickering candles, orange & back twine, various containers, finger towels, etc all for 0.30, and a bunch of nicer baskets and some glass candy containers for 0.90.

The Halloween section still had some odds and ends decorations, paper products, pinatas, and costumes at 50% off. Tons of candy as it is holding at 30% off.

Other finds in the store were Halloween catnip cat toys at 50% off in the regular pet area and pet sweaters at 70% off in the dollar section.

  22. Tara

There is a 25cent ibotta offer on any brand cereal for target
