Can I use with T Mobile??

    • nicolegammeter

You’ll have to confirm with T-Mobile.

  2. Jen

Just had one that was left outside overnight in a rain storm. Thanks for making this Christmas present replacement a great deal!

    • nicolegammeter

      You’re welcome, Jen! πŸ™‚

  3. Casey

Awesome! I was able to snag this for my dad for Christmas. I was able to use $6 in points, too.

    • nicolegammeter

      Yay! πŸ™‚

    • Casey

I also found cases on Amazon for ~$5 for this phone. I’m so excited to gift this to my dad. He uses a Tracfone flip phone and he’ll be impressed that I think he’s “hip” enough to use it. If he can’t figure it out or doesn’t like it, I can always donate it and I’ll only be out $4!

  4. Yolanda

I’d appreciate if anyone know’s about it being compatible with AT&T?

    • Jeannie

No, it is not compatible. With tracfone, you buy their phones and use whatever service they provide. You do not choose your own service.

      • Deb

Right. However, where I live, the service is provided by a leading cellphone company, so my reception is great.

  5. diane

Kmart also has this available, with shipping if need be.

    • Pam

Thanks Diane for information about Kmart. I just ordered one for my Mom and have free store pickup. I also received $5.00 in points too! Thanks Colin!!

      • Claire

        Hey Pam,
How could you get $5 points?

        • Christie

          I got no points!

          • Claire

            I got 0 point, too.

  6. Creolegyrl

Thanks Collin! I will receive $5.00 in points for the purchase. Great gift for my niece.

    • nicolegammeter

      Sweet! πŸ™‚

Does any1 know if home wifi can be used with this phone?

  8. Erin

Yes it does have wifi. This would be a great starter phone for my 8yr old son.

    • Megan

I have an 8yo daughter and I bet she would like this as well.

  9. Laura

Thanks! Out of stock at my Sears, but kmart had some. Ordered 2.

  11. Mourrene

    Got one, amazingly!

  12. Jo

How does this prepaid phone work? How much do the minutes cost when you do prepaid?

  13. Barb J

got it for free with my points. my son has one already but I am going to give that one to his sister and give him the new one.

  14. Erin

Will this have have the same price in store also?

  15. TeresaS

I have this phone and like it. I switched from a very expensive phone and plan to this and it works just fine for me. The only thing is it takes a little longer to load things. But for the money I am saving it is well worth the wait. Getting another just incase I break mine.

  16. Christie

Colin will I be able to get the Target Ibotta app on this phone???
If so, it would be worth it for me to get! πŸ™‚ I miss out on a lot of deals because I do not have internet service on my current phone. πŸ™

    • Casey

Yes! It’s an Android phone so you will be able to download the free Ibotta app.

      • Christie

Yipppeee! I wonder if I have to pay the activation fee just for internet???

        • LT

No, I run it over wifi; never activated.

    • Paul

Note that ibotta may not necessarily be compatible. I bought the $14.99 Kyocera Event smartphone, around last Christmas, at Radioshack. I thought that it would be compatible, because it is an android smartphone. But, ibotta also requires camera autofocus, which not all smartphones have. So, you might want to check for that feature, if you want to use the phone for ibotta.

  17. Erika

I never had any smart phones, and I appreciate it if somebody can help me. If I buy this phone, I need to pay some activation fee ($45?) to start the phone services, and also need to choose pre-paid plan and pay as you go, correct? Even without the phone plan, other features such as internet browsing and apps would work? I’m wondering if I can give this to my son for Xmas instead of a tablet… Thanks for your help in advance.

    • Claire

Really? I just want two for each of my sons. Doesn’t need to be a phone. They will use it as a tablet. Will that still need activation fee?

    • Casey

I thought Tracfone’s thing was “no activation fees?” Where did you see a $45 fee?

      • Erika

I found the info. on the review at Walmart.com (review page 2, 6/16/14). Sorry, I do not want to confuse anyone, I just do not have any clue how the pre-paid smart phones work. My two questions are 1.To use the phone feature onthis phone, is the activation fee is required? 2. Where can I find the menu for payment option? Any info. would be appreciated.

  18. Natasha

Got 1 for my 9 yr old for Christmas! So excited! With my surprise points got it for $5.99.

  19. Laura

I got a few as gifts and took them home and noticed the upper left-hand side says must activate at register. Am I supposed to activate it for them or so they have to go in and activate them? Is there an activation fee? I’m so confused.

    • Claire

I did the same thing, and mine are ready for picking up. Someone please help! I need them as Thanksgiving gifts 2moro πŸ™

      • mharvin10

I bought 2 phones and already picked up at my local Sears. Then came back home and opened the packages. Connected both phone with wifi. So you don’t need to activate the phone if you would like to use as mp3 player, tablet (wifi).

  20. mharvin10

If you are planning to use this as mp3 player, wifi table, etc–you don’t need to activate it at all.

    • Claire

Great! Thanks for the information. I’m heading out to pick up mine. Happy Thanksgiving to all!

      • Christie

Thanks ya’ll! πŸ™‚ Hopefully mine will come in soon…it said 14-16 days. I hope they do not sell it to someone else like they did the wiper blades…I am really excited as I have been really missin out on the target deals! Yipppeeee Collin…thank you soooo much! πŸ˜€

    • Laura

What about as a phone though? Am I supposed to activate it for them?

      • mharvin10

If you need it as a phone, you need to active at tracfone website or tracfone phone number.

  21. Anne

Hello. I’m planning to send these to the Philippines. Im wondering if anyone has tried to unlock a Tracfone for international use over the phone or online? Can i call tracfone to do that?

    • mharvin10

      On tracfone website—

You will not be able to make or receive calls on your TRACFONE when you are located outside of the United States, Puerto Rico or the U.S. Virgin Islands.

  22. jhnicole

Out of stock.thanks anyway happy thanksgiving.

  23. Marla Windsor

I just ordered. It was unavailable but then I chose “pick up in store”. Seems to be fine. Thank you.

  24. Paul

I think that this is the same model phone that Walgreens will have on sale, for $9.99, from 11/27 to 11/29. But, that one is on Net10.

  25. sheila

Has anyone purchased this phone through store pickup and is able to activate the phone? I’m confused and worried like Laura about “can’t be activated unless scanned at register”. I asked the staff at store pick up and they had not scanned it but I could activate it. I’m kind of in doubt about that.

I called Tracfone and they said they must be scanned at the register to ensure the phone is not stolen.

They asked me for the serial no. on the phone but it is a gift so I don’t want to open it.
    Please help.

  26. Jennifer

Ordered this phone yesterday, chose pick up in store. Received notification it was ready for pick-up. Was charged for phone, one hour later the item I paid for and received notice that I could pick up, was mysteriously canceled because it was out of stock. Contacted customer service online and they left the chat window after I explained to them what happened and copied and pasted both e-mails that were sent within an hour of each other. Such lovely customer relations. Hopefully I get my money back. Glad I didn’t spend a lot but irritated because this was supposed to be a gift.

  27. marie

omg! why didn’t show out of stock before I check out.. I had to used my coupon and points its crazy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  28. Char

Can you use your Hotmail account on the Tracfone Optimus Fuel? Bought the Tracfone Optimum Dynamic II only to find out you could only pull up a Gmail account for your e-mail. Tracfone would not let me return the phone.

  29. Paul

I picked up the Net10 version of this phone tonight, at Walgreens. I paid $4.99, after using the GEAR deodorant $4 RR and $1 Robitussin RR. I have no intention of activating it, because I plan on using it on wi-fi, as a mini tablet, media player and a remote for my Roku and Blu-ray player. It works with Google dialer. But, is incompatible with ibotta, as I suspected it might be. It’s pretty responsive and has a 4 GB microSD card. It’s always nice not to have to buy a memory card. Though, I replaced it with a 16 GB card. It’s definitely a step-up, from the Kyocera Event I bought last year.

      Paul,
THANK YOU SO MUCH for letting us know that this smartphone was available at Walgreens!!! Using points and RRs, I got 3 for free! πŸ˜€
Your followup info on the ibotta incompatibility is also appreciated! πŸ™‚
