Love our Diono Radian! It allows us to keep our 3.5 year old rear facing for optimum safety. Got it during a previous Kohls deal. Great buy!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      That’s awesome to hear! 🙂

      • Karen

How do I get this deal

  2. Franfran

Looks for grandchild. Are they small? How can you still use backwards? I’ve never seen one that you can do this with past baby stage? Thanks

    • Jessie

They’re pretty big and heavy, but you can buy an angle adjuster for $10 that allows you to sit it more upright so it takes up less space. Most kids can sit rearfacing (safer) to at least age 3 or 4 with a Radian and forward face harnessed for a long time too.

    • Brittany

This is a convertable car seat which means it can be used both rear facing and forward facing. This is a very long lasting seat and most children would fit in it comfortable rear facing until 4. Both the AAP and NHTSA recommend keeping children rear facing until at least 2 and ideally until they outgrow the rear facing limits.

    • Adria

Here is a video on how to install it rear facing. It’s pretty easy. The seat itself is heavy but it gets great safety ratings. All convertible car seats can rear face or forward face, but this one has extended height and weight limits.

Diono is one of the few carseats that can accommodate an older child rear-facing, the safest way for a child to travel in a car and which reduces risk of injury up to 75% over front-facing.

Diono Radian XT has a steel frame and is narrow enough to fit 3 across, yet provides a roomy comfortable ride for our little ones. We had our Radians installed by a professional because they are a bit difficult to install, but once in, they’re like rocks.

  3. Rachael W.

Love our Diono’s too! We have two for our 4 & 2yr olds. can fit 3 across in a little Toyota!!

    • Lauren

Thanks for that info Rachael. We are having triplets in January and are looking for seats that fit 3 across in our honda pilot for when they are done with their infant seats.

      • Kim

Congratulations on triplets! Our friends have 3 across in their Pilot without any issues.

        • Jessie

The Pilot can fit many seats well.

Also to cut costs, the MyRide puzzles very well with the Radian when facing the same way and is much cheaper! It is a big seat but the base is narrow. I have one w/ a Radian in a 3 across in my Corolla.

          • Jenna

Thanks for this info! We have a Corolla and a Radian & MyRide. We haven’t used the radian in the corolla yet. After getting the radian, I feel like the myride we have is HUGE. 😉

      • Lauren

You might even be able to use these from newborn stage to save some money. I know carriers are easy to start, but with three I imagine nothing will be “easy”!

      • Sharon

Which one fits 3 across or do they both?

        • Bernadett

The diono will fit in any car.. 3 across.

      • LSte

Hi Lauren, hate to hijack the post but I’m in an amazing triplet group online if you are interested. And congrats on your triplets!

Love my diono, fits little babies all through kid. My daughter out grew her bucket seat at 7 months and it was hard to find a seat rear facing to fit her (shes really tall). Shes now 2 and a half and we still love her diono, it should fit her till shes ready to sit in a normal seat. I plan to buy it for any other children we have.Just a note it is very heavy, but very sturdy.

  5. rtaylor

I have been waiting for a sale on the Rainier! Now my 1 year old can feel like a “big” boy next to his 6 year old brother in his Radian. Thanks hip2save!

    • rtaylor

Also went through ibotta, so should be getting $10 back too 🙂

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

You bet! Glad you were able to score this great buy! 🙂

  6. jes

I love my Diono’s also. However, there were 2 styles from this brand that failed the safety testing done by consumer reports, hopefully not these models. Wish I could remember the models but I’m sure a quick google search will pop them up.

    • annad

This is one that has done great. The olympia and ranier i believe are the ones that didn’t

  7. Kendra

Can’t you price match targets price of $237.99? And then 25% off? It’d be 178.50 and receive $30 kohls cash.

    • Kellee

You would have to call and order it online, and then they would only let you use a 15% coupon, not anything higher than that. I’ve tried to do it a couple of times. 🙂

  8. rightasrainy

I have the Diono Radian RXT rear facing in my two door Dodge Challenger. I use an angle adjuster with it and have plenty of room. My two year isn’t even close to outgrowing it and I plan to rear face him until at least three years old.

  9. Kendra

What is an angle adjuster? And where can it be located?

    • Jessie

It sits the seat more upright so it takes less space (for older babies – not little ones). Amazon has them.

      • bernadett

This was my biggest issue.. car space w rear face.. this might be the solution.. thanks.

  10. Sar

Love our radian! It fits my 9 yr old with special needs and will for quite a long time. We have my daughter in a britax.. And I’d skip the britax and just go for the radian. Steel frame, higher weight capacity, low profile for easier transitions and waaaay easier to travel with!

    • Angelique

Awsome, need one for my 7 year old with special needs.

  11. jessicaf

this is an awesome deal ! I love my radian have 3 across in a Saturn car !! lol

  12. ana

Love our dionos. We have 3 all rear facing in our 2011 nissan altima.

  13. Sarah

Checked Amazon and diapers.com and neither will match the price (diapers will work out a coupon if you’re a new customer though).

Bought from Kohls–not the color I wanted but price was irresistible

  14. bernadett

Justkidstore.com had it for 199 on cyber monday.. so it comes n goes for a good price

  15. Kristie

I have 3 Pacifica car seats also by Diono. You can get these as open box deals as a similar price. (I actually got my 3 for about 220 each) I would recommend the Pacifica over the Rainier if your child is average or tall for their age. The wings that come out at the top are not removable and hit my average size 5 year old uncomfortably. The Pacifica is basically the same seat with out the wings that stick out so far. The Pacifica is also narrow and these seats can fit comfortably 3 wide in any backseat. I just wanted to mention this as at this price point I do expect to use the carseat for as long as possible, and it seems a lot of kids will outgrown the Rainer much sooner because of them physically not fitting under the “wings” any long.

  16. Kellee

I have the Radian RXT’s for my 3 kids and LOVE them! My 7 year old is using his as a high back booster now, but I didn’t switch him from the harness until he was 6 and a half. My (just turned) 6 year old was rear facing until August when school started as it made it easier for the car line drop off, but she only weighs 39 pounds and is tiny and still fits rear facing with no issues. My 3 year old is still rear facing at 36 pounds and she has no issues either. I have the angle adjusters for when they are/were rear facing for a little more room and they worked great in our Honda Odyssey. Can’t say enough good things about these seats!!!

  17. Kris

Thanks for posting this! I had ordered 2 of these car seats from amazon and they were scheduled to be delivered Monday . Canceled that order and will receive $80 in kohls cash plus $20 in yes2you rewards!

  18. Karlee

Does anyone know if this sale was only good yesterday? When I go to kohls.com it shows it for $339?

  19. melissa

I am not seeing the sale price when following the link? It is showing the regular price with the 25% off? Please help!

  20. sastx

It’s back to the regular price. I can get it cheaper on Amazon right now since it looks like now there’s no sale.

  21. Jennifer McCarrell

Looks like it is back to regular price.
