Does collect 3 means collect them by any means? I mean if I buy coffee from say Target, will that be considered valid for this promotion?
I save my stars from coffee for star dashes and they have always worked. You can only enter two stars a day so make sure you don’t wait until the last day to enter them.
Most Target stores aren’t linked yet so need to go to regular Starbucks

Mine was buy 10 get 10, 12/12, 15/15. I used to go to sbux everyday for drip coffee and became a gold member many times over. I’ve been on hiatus for two months because they don’t seem to reward their loyal members :(. I did mention it to their customer service when I called about missing stars.

I suggest having a secondary account with another email address. Once you get the bonus stars code, you can add it to your main account.

My dash sucks, too. Mine I have to go 6 days in a row to get 6 bonus stars, or 10 days in a row for 10. My husband hardly goes and got the 2 bonus star deal for buying any espresso drink. They do suck at rewarding gold members. I’m happy I got a nespresso maker for Christmas, now I will be going there less.

I got 4 and 6 purchases for 10 and 20 stars, respectively. And I go to starbucks five days a week religiously to take a break from work. Maybe it’s because I’m a man. Hah.

You now can redeem rewards at Starbucks inside Target. I think that change happened right before the holidays.
My Starbucks inside Target too. I couldn’t redeem any offer with the code at the store. I was very excited to see now they could, but the employee said they couldn’t put those code in the register. Sigh.. 🙁
Pay for items one at a time. You get stars by transactions not by items so break them up! On bonus star dashes I usually pick up some $5 gift cards too. If I don’t gift them right away I can always add them back to my account later. Great teacher gifts for after winter break though! 🙂

Just remember there is a limit (or at least there once was) to how many stars you can get from purchases in a day (I think 3). Great idea with the gift cards!
Do entering codes from starbucks packages count? Or does it have to be paid with with your card?
Yes, they count! I met my last bonus dash by doing just that.
I also earned mine doing this. I always save my stars from coffee for this. Plus, my neighbor gives me hers because she doesn’t like anything but black coffee. So I get my free latte and buy her a brewed coffee when we go out.

Yes! I had to add new cards through my phone app yesterday because their website would not load no matter what I tried.

Evie: Mine was the same way… I tried and tried, but couldn’t get in. When I went back to try again a few minutes ago, it showed that I had already joined the dash. Click on the link again, and it will probably tell you you’re in, and to sign in to verify. Scroll down, and you should see your progress. Good Luck 🙂

I saw the Star Dash on my account a few days ago but had to sign into my account on a computer. The app didn’t show it.
Is anyone else having trouble joining the star dash? Every time I click to enter the star dash it takes me to the log in page, but I don’t get any confirmation saying I’ve joined the dash. I called Starbucks, but they were no help at all.
Mine took me to the login and after I just sat there distracted for little bit the page refreshed and said I’d joined the dash.
I just logged into my account and then in my account info at the bottom was the deal. You had to join it and I clicked to join it and it said that it was active for me.

A few things on this as my mom has worked for Starbucks for almost ten years. I’m pretty sure there is no limit on how many stars you can earn in a single day. I redeemed a freebie and the next day bought teacher gifts for my girls teachers and had all 12 purchases rung up separately and within a few hours I had the email that my freebie was waiting.
Also, as somebody else mentioned, ring each item up in a different transaction. I take my teens and I buy each item separately. I figure if this is the rule then I will play their game! The amount of money we spend there, they can give us a freebie every once in awhile!
Also, your free item doesn’t have to be a drink! It can be used on any food item as well! I got a panini the other day with it! They don’t outwardly come forward with this info but it’s THEIR rule, use it!!!
And for the drinks you can get the large size. There is no size restriction on your freebie.

I get stars with the VIA instant coffee but I am having problems with the starbucks website. The page will not load for me to enter them. I have tried two different computers. I have the app but I can’t figure out how to load them on there. Any suggestions? Thank you

Can someone explain this line, “it only takes 12 stars to redeem for a completely FREE beverage!” I have 14 stars, but it doesn’t show a free beverage. What am I missing? Thx!
Once you get 12 stars, you get a free drink. You should receive an email or see it in your account (sometimes there is a bit of a lag.) If you don’t see it, contact customer service.
The 12 stars applies to Gold members you must still be green member level.
You need to earn 30 stars to become a gold member then after that every 12th star earns you a free item. Remember your free item can be any drin drink or any food item.
Also, when I logged into my account online it gave me a code for reward members for 10% extra off of the end of year sale. The code is MSREXTRA. There were some decent deals.
I have another gold membership question. I just hit 30 stars last month, so to keep gold do I need 30 more between last month and next November or do the next 30 need to all be in 2015? Is the membership by join date or calendar year? Hopefully I’m making sense. I just entered some more stars but now I’m wondering if I wasted them and should wait till tomorrow 1/1/15 to enter more. Thanks!
It goes on a “rolling” year not a calendar year, so you will have until November 2015. You didn’t waste them.

Sucks! Gold Member status attained 3x every year, but my New Year Dash is just buy 6, earn 6; buy 9, earn 9; buy 12, earn 12.
Whereas, my dd reaches Gold Member status 1x this year and her deal has a buy 5, earn 20 stars. WTF, this Xmas/ New Year dash sucks, big time.

I had the earn 3 for 10 earn 5 for 20. I earned six. When do the rewards stars show up? I haven’t recieved another Starbucks email.
Someone said he received a confirmation email that 20 bonus stars will be added by January 27th.
I earned 6 stars but when I log in my starbucks account, the reward dashboard showed “Nice try! You didn’t quite finish this challenge.” What the heck…..If I didn’t receive my bonus stars by 1/27, I’ll email the customer service.
The same thing has happened to me! I just reported this to customer service through the web site. I’ll post again when I get a response.
Here’s the response I got:
“I’m sorry you are receiving a message saying you didn’t complete the New Year Star Dash Promotion. Bonus Stars will be rewarded via email to qualifying participants throughout the day on 1/27/2015. If you don’t receive an email by then please be sure to respond back and I will be happy to fix your Stars for you. I apologize for any confusion this has caused.”

I have had HORRIBLE luck with the dash and bonus star promotions. The one mid December if you purchased a breakfast sandwhich, holiday sweet and a holiday coffee didn’t add to my account. Now, I had the dash thing and it was 6 days in a row get 8 bonus stars, 10 days in a row get 12 stars and 12 days in a row get 20 stars between December 28 and January 12. I went 7 times in a row and still have not received an email about the dash. This is getting really OLD!

Jasomm, yes same thing has happened to me and now it is January 30th. I entered the code on January 27th and the stars were never credited to my account. Last night I sent an email to Starbucks customer service. Will see what happens.
