Do these things live in a shady area?

    • Jackie

Actually they love the shade. If you place it on a sunny spot it will burn and die.

      • Kristina

Thank you! I did not get my mother’s green thumb, clearly. lol

Yep. I learned the hard and expensive way lasr summer. Purchased 4 big and beautiful ferns and hung them under the frony and back porches. Even though they weren’t exposed to full sun, this New Orleans heat was too much for them May they RIP. πŸ˜–πŸ˜–

Beware of hitch hikers in the ferns . Last year my friend bought one and she got it home and put it in the house. Long story short, a week later found the small lizard that came out of it. We love in wisconsin and it was a tropical lizard. Another thing about ferns is that they are wonderful house plants inside. Mine is 5 years old and huge .

    • Tara

That’s funny you say that. I just bought two this morning and while checking out I noticed a lizard on my purse. Freaked me out, not a lizard I’d ever seen before here in Missouri. Ferns are staying outside for sure now.

    • TinaL

Found a lizard in mine also from Ohio its now crawling around my SUV.

      • Tara

        Oh my!

Do these ferns need full shade…not looking so well. Bought them 2 weeks ago at Home Depot for $5.00. I have watered them every other day. Pulled some dead out of it so they could breath. Help!
