Microsoft Retail Stores: Free YouthSpark Kids Camp for Ages 8-13 (Make Reservations Now!)
Looking for something to entertain the kiddos this summer? Microsoft retail stores are hosting YouthSpark Summer Camps for kids ages 8-13 throughout the summer. This FREE camp is divided into two age groups for beginner Game Coders (recommended for ages 8-11) and intermediate Game Coders (recommended for ages 8-11 or older). The camps are 2 hours a day, Monday-Thursday, and are available at Microsoft Retail Stores throughout the country.
Keep in mind that space is limited and workshops fill up quickly, so head on over here and sign your kids up now! Just scroll down, select your state and store, and then you will then be able to select the week and class you would like to sign up for. Please note that a parent must stay with your child(ren) during Camp.
(Thanks, Judy!)
This is awesome!!! My son has been wanting to do something like this and this is perfect (and free!!) Thank you!! Made our day 🙂
This looks like an awesome experience. Too bad they don’t have a store near me. I hope some of your readers will share how the experience goes.
Think this looks so neat, and I would drive a ways for it BUT my kids can’t go at the same time due to age, which would mean I would have to stay in the store for two classes (four hours) with my three non-attending kids.
They keep asking for a business name and information as required. Not sure what to do?
I just put Home for business and CEO for title 😀
Very confusing process. I think I have my boys signed up but had to make accounts for myself and my husband to do so. Asks for business info and other stuff. I have a call into the store to make sure I did things right and have been told I will hear back from them sometime today. Signing up for the Apple Store classes is SO MUCH easier 😀
The Microsoft store is too far to us, but I’m intrigued to know more about the apple camp. Is it similar coding camp or something else? I went to the apple site and their summer 2015 info isn’t out yet.
The Apple Store classes are awesome! They go fast so watch Hip2Save and put your email in on their website for them to notify you. They gave my son a free Tshirt, a USB memory stick and most importantly the knowledge on how to make a film in one and how to create a book using an iPad in another. (He has attended a class the past two years) He then had to present what he learned in front of the class. I would highly recommend even if you don’t own any apple products. So many schools use them now and what they learn is very helpful.
Thanks for the info. Yes I signed up to be notified when the summer 2015 info gets released. We have several apple products so this will be fun for them! 🙂
So excited to get in on this! All of the classes were filled by the time I tried to register last year. This year, I got it thanks to you. Thanks much for posting!
Did any one have a Microsoft store code $15 off $50 ..I will put it in a good use ..my email jojo172003@hotmail.com
Very confusing – hope I did it right, but thank you! This is a perfect option because their camp ends 7/31 and needed something for them to do until school starts! 🙂
