Sent from reader, Michelle:

My late grandmother lived with us from the time I was pregnant with my son until she passed when he was 5 years old. She always looked up and down the aisles in every single store to find a toy that she described as “one I bought for my boys when they were young…a picture came across the screen and it played nursery rhymes.” She never found it.

Now my son is 6 with a 10 month old sister that my grandmother never got to meet.  While searching through Target’s Toy Clearance, I found the toy she always talked about! Regular price $20 and I got it for $6.  Now my son who had such a strong bond with his great grandmother will be able to give his little sister this toy for her birthday and explain the reasoning behind it. I wouldn’t have found this at all had it not been for Hip2Save reporting the clearance. My mom cried when she saw it knowing that it was something my grandmother always wanted to buy for my son. Thanks!

Awwww, what a sweet story. I’m 32 and my grandma had one of those original toys. (I believe it was from Fischer Price) It plays 10 little Indians as the pictures scroll across the screen. She passed away 3 days before Christmas- going on 6 years ago- and my mom moved into her house because my family couldn’t stand to see her home go. Anyway- that toy, amongst a few other classics, is still there and played with by mine and my sister’s (NINE!) kids whenever we go over there. Each time it’s played with, it reminds me of my grandma and takes me back to when I was a kid. 😊

Thanks for this touching post, Collin and Michelle. How awesome that you were able to find such a sentimental toy ❤

Love your story! I will be one of those grandmas some day. My mother in law and own mother said they are too old to be involved in my children’s lives (6 and 14yrs old) since i had kids later in life… so this story gives me hope. Tears in my eyes with happiness for you!
