The last time I tried to use a coupon at Office Depot they didn’t accept it because “the item was already on sale”.

  2. Tara

If people have the coupon for the expo markers but aren’t going to have any use for the markers, I’d suggest getting them and donating them to a local school. Expo markers tend to cost teachers sooo much money and they run out fairly fast. I know as a teacher that’s something I’d really appreciate having donated.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Great suggestion, Tara! πŸ™‚

    • Carla

I wonder how long these markers are good for before drying out.

    • Carla

I donated these markers along with other supplies to my child’s teacher and didn’t even get a thank you! Won’t be doing that again!

      • Laura

Don’t you hate that! I’ve given Christmas presents (giftcards) without a thanks. Done doing that. I’ve got better things to do with my money!

      • Stefanie

I’m so sorry that you don’t feel appreciated! I am a teacher and at least for the beginning of the year, things are insanely crazy and it’s hard to even keep track of who brought what when the kids are bringing things in. I know some parents sent in things off of the 7th grade teachers’ wish list this year with their students, but we have everyone turn supplies in all at once in our classrooms, so it would have been really difficult to keep track since there is soooo much going on. I am certainly thankful though!!!

      • Sarah

Don’t feel un-noticed- I’m sure it is appreciated. I remember feeling surprised when my son started school a few years ago and I GOT a thank you note for supplies. I actually thought it was strange… but obviously thoughtful. Since then, sometimes Ive gotten thank you’s, sometimes not, but my desire to help doesn’t change.

        • Denise

          Great sentiments, Sarah πŸ™‚

    • Ketsy

Sorry you both feel that way. Although it is great to receive a thank you, I donate because I know it is needed and not for the merit nor for the thanks. The beginning of the school year is very hectic. Teachers are occupied settling your children down and getting them into a routine. During the holidays, they are as glad to get a break to spend with their loved ones. I’m pretty sure they appreciate every little bit. Thank you for donating πŸ˜‰

      • Jeanett

It is frustrating not getting a thank you for the gifts and donations we give out. But, you can think of it this way, you get a thumbs up from God. …and because you’re sharing your blessings, more blessings will come your way.

  3. Ruthi

Just an FYI—-today is the last day for the spiral notebooks for a penny, but when I was there a little bit ago, the gentleman told me that the wide rule and the college rule have different sku numbers so you can get 3 of each for a penny each.

    • prit

      For mee too!

  4. Julie

Is there a limit on the expo markers?

    • Carla

      3 per person

  5. Sarah

I wish that the expo marker coupon would have been in our area coupons. We didn’t get it. πŸ™ I have to have three packs for my kids this year.

    • rae

I hardly ever buy papers and just order coupons from clipping services. It keeps me honest about only buying things I’ll use or rather only getting coupons for the things I’ll use of I buy them. There are a few you can order through and eBay also.

  6. anna

I did not know that they took coupons. Going there tomorrow to get free stuff, thank you for posting.

  7. AJ

Where is the expo marker coupon?

    • Regi Redge

      7/26 Smart Source

  8. Suzana

Has anyone submitted their rebate forms from this week yet? How did you do it? I want to make sure I do this week’s rebates correctly before buying more rebate items starting tomorrow. TIA!

  9. Nikole

How do the rebates work here can you buy it all in one transaction like if i were to go today and get the pencils that are free after rebate if i get all 3 in the same transaction would it still work?

  10. Thankship2save!

There was a IP for the expo markers a few weeks ago. We already started school. I’m hoping to scrounge some coupons to stockpile for later.

If you gave a gift and didn’t get a thank you, I encourage you to not be discouraged. Keep doing good! πŸ™‚

  11. Dawn

You can buy all of your rebate items in one transaction. The printer generates one form for each ITEM you buy–so if you buy 3 of the pen sets, you will get 3 forms and 3 duplicate receipts. If you buy 3 pen sets and 3 Avery label sets, you’ll get 6 rebate forms and 6 duplicate receipts. My “receipt” was a mile long because I bought about 12 items in one transaction!

Someone posted on a different Hip2Save thread about the Office Depot rebates that they had called the company and were told they could submit LIKE rebates in one envelope, but you need to do one form for each item. You cannot mix rebates for, say, pens and highlighters together. So I submitted 3 pen rebates with 3 dupe receipts in one envelope. Then I did another envelope for all 3 of the Sharpie highlighters that I bought. The reason you have to do separate envelopes is because the “address” is different (the zip + 4 differs and the PO box matches that +4).

I haven’t received the rebates yet so I can’t say for sure this works.

    • Sandy

I did the same thing, so I’m hoping it works!

    • Serena

Well I hope that isn’t the case because I submitted them all in the same envelope….I hope I get all the rebates! We’ll see I guess, makes me nervous

  12. Kara

Are you able to price match the expo deal at Wal-Mart or target?

    • Evan

I just left my Target & they are constantly getting things wrong. Their LP & LOD say they no longer price match stores other than Amazon, WM.com & TRU.com. I pulled up their website & was arguing w/them about it bc it’s sad that they create their own rules. Lady at GS said we no longer price match WM too. WHAT? Where do they get this stuff? WM is your direct competition so no u don’t PM them? They kept saying it was a new policy from corporate. I had to shake my head at it. It’s so annoying. 😣
Each week it’s a new policy it seems.

Off topic: If anyone is interested in a trade, I have a $10 off $10 code from Bon-Ton to be used in store only and it expires tomorrow Sunday, August 23rd. I’d like to know what anyone has to offer of similar $10 value? It would be best to be a code that can be sent via email (the Bonton’s is an individual code sent to me via email). Thanks!

Can you price match staples washable marked for .75 cents and still do buy two get one free?

  15. STACY

what’s the limit on the copy paper?

  16. T

I just left Office Depot. Was told I could not use coupons on top of a sale

  17. Carrie

Was just at office depot to check it out i didnt find the 1cent deals πŸ™ orange county,ca. I did get the 24/box ticonderoga pencils.

  18. Snowflake

Wish they’d had this expo deal before school started..we were required to send several packs. Does anybody know if the markers would be still good, not dried out, a year later? At this price it would be worth it to buy now and save them for next year.

    • momof3

This is what I found on expo’s website!… “How long is a marker supposed to last?As with any writing instrument, this depends upon users and frequency of use. When not in use, Expo markers stored horizontally with caps installed tightly will last approximately 2-3 years.”… with that said, it is good to stock up now πŸ™‚

    • Dawn

I have a lot of unopened expo markers from last year’s sales. I put them in my students’ pencil boxes this year and they work perfectly. I stocked up today for next year! πŸ˜ƒ

  19. Beckster

I had no problem price matching the Expos and Sharpies at Walmart today. Plus both items had a free bonus pen. Score!!

  20. Cairlin

In Atlanta the manager printed out the freebie/almost free coupon policy because the register needed an override. One coupon for a pack of Sharpies and one for a pack of Expos allowed.

  21. Jana

I love this office supplies. I made the family get ready early so I’d be there before all the other shoppers. After harassing the children and husband about how much of an ordeal this awesome sale was…we arrived to an empty store. Oh well, more deals for me!!!

  22. Michele

To anyone that’s scored these deals at Office Max/Depot: when do you go? Every time I go all the items on sale are completely cleaned out πŸ™ Teach me please!!

  23. Evan

No go using the Sharpie & expo coupons. The store had a flyer printed at each register to not take Qs on those items. It was odd. I only had 2 Qs for my 2 items, but I had 10 OTHER items well over $50 total. Boo 😑😑
