This link isn’t for virgin coconut oil, it is for their refined coconut oil. It’s better in some uses anyways, but just a heads up!

Whoops! Thanks for catching that! Just fixed!

So what is the difference between the two? I just started using coconut oil for stuff…

        • Lisa pop

Refined coconut oil is tasteless/odorless and is best for cooking because it has a high heat tolerance of 450degrees. I know it’s bleached and goes through some high heat process while being made. Unrefined coconut oil has that coconut flavor/scent and it’s still good to use for cooking. I’m sure there are more differences but those are the main ones that I know of off the top of my head.

            Thanks for the info Lisa!

I have been using this product (virgin one) in my coffee every morning. I started about 10 days ago. I CAN’T believe the difference in my skin!!! It is so moist and soft (I live in CA, it is very hot where I live and it dries out my skin).
    And, it doesn’t taste bad!

Coconut oil in coffee never heard this before…can this oil applied to face as well?

      • Q

Yes, it can be applied to face. Also, I use it as a conditioning mask on my hair. So far, in my coffee is my favorite! Again, I can’t believe the difference in my skin! Super soft and almost a slight glow on my face!!!

I’ve been using coconut oil for years. I cook hibachi foods with it and actually prefer an unrefined oil because it adds richness and flavor to the food. Also trying replacing regular oil in your brownies! They won’t dry out even if they remain uncovered and the chocolate flavor is enhanced no matter which type you use. Absolutely the best brownies you’ve ever had.

My two fav. brands are actually Nutiva and Carrington Farms (I end up buying the second more because typically better prices) Before you buy please educate yourself a bit on refined vs. unrefined.
For consuming I personally would only use an unrefined virgin organic, but to each their own.

Right now Costco has Kirkland Signature Organic Coconut Oil 2/42.3 oz $19.99 (expires 2-14-16)
