    • SallyDixon

      Basically the same thing

  2. Stephanie

They address the same thing. I like credit Karma better it stays up to date better. Also it help me find a medical bilk that has went to one of those debt collectors

I was all about credit karma up until about 10 days ago. Checked both mine and my husbands credit scores on our way to buy a car. Both of our scores were 80 points off.

      • Michelle

Credit Karma is only an estimate. It says that on the app. Mine is always higher when I go to the credit union.

      • Livvy

Was your actual score 80 points higher or lower?

Eighty points off is not a good estimate.

Doesn’t the government provide it for free. Annualcreditreport.com provides your 3 reports per year by law, you can then order one from every 4 months and keep a running live tab on your credit every year

It’s a report. Not score. Getting the score costs $.

It’s a government requirement that the 3 reporting agencies (Experian, Equifax, and Transunion) provide your credit report free once per year per agency. It’s a good idea to check them all because they do not always match. They have to correct problems you find.

You are correct. Best thing is get a physical credit report. Any derogatory items dispute. If they don’t respond within 30 days to credit report agency, they have to remove it. Worth a try. Also any older credit card, these are to be removed after 7yrs from date of service. Too many inquires can hurt credit. They come off in 2yrs.

On my capital one quicksilver ap it has credit wise that gives your score. I also use credit karma

Anyone looking to get actual reports & scores, you can get each report free once per year, as someone said above. If you need the scores, 2 of the 3 offer credit monitoring trials – using those, you can get 2 of your scores for under $5, which is all you’ll probably need. Just cancel the monitoring before you get charged full price, easy to do. We did this earlier this year before we got our truck. While I know it’s not for many people, our Credit Karma score estimates were spot on.

I got locked out for 30 days because they didn’t like my answers to my questions about myself, oh well.
