What are the best flavors? I’ve got a smaller framed 15 y.o. boy who needs to gain weight and muscle mass (per doctors orders). He’s not a picky eater, just incredible metabolism. I would appreciate flavor recommendations for a teenager.

Kate, our regular flavors around here are the vanilla and the double rich chocolate. You can make those two taste like so many things, so you’ll never get sick of them. One of my favorites is the chocolate powder with either a couple of tablespoons of natural peanut or other nut butter, or peanut butter powder (though your son could handle the straight extra calories). Frozen banana covers up all flavors and is really good if you put kale or avocado in there so it doesn’t taste strange. Add those healthy fats to increase calories but not sugar. You can also put in some greek yogurt to up those calories and give it great texture with fruit. Throw spinach in there–it blends completely and you can’t taste it at all. Make either with strawberries or blueberries or any other frozen fruit too, so they seem a little frosty like a milkshake. They do make a gainer powder, but I think you could do it this way and better control the healthy aspects of the shake. I also love the mocha cappuccino (as an adult) because it has the slightest coffee flavor (I blend a scoop with a cup of coffee and it’s like a frothy latte). Good luck!
