So are you buying the gift card itself separately then having to add money to it? Or just by purchasing it for an amount above $5, the gift card is included free?
You buy the gift card and get the toy for free.

When you purchase something that earns a gift card you can take this one up to the cashier. Give it to them before you start the check out and let them know you will be earning a gift card and to use that one. My store will do that and I use them for gifts.

Just pointing out a fact, go back and read again, where’s the rudeness? It is a fact that Target used to come up with new GC cards quite frequently.
