Great news Amazon Shoppers! It appears that the minimum FREE shipping threshold for NON-Prime members has been lowered from $49 to only $35! There hasn’t been an official statement released that I am aware of, but you can read the shipping information here or when you head to checkout.

Orders including $25 or more of eligible books qualify for FREE Shipping. All orders of $35 or more of eligible items across any product category also qualify for FREE Shipping. With free shipping, your order will be delivered 5-8 business days after all of your items are available to ship, including pre-order items.

Note that Amazon Prime members will continue to receive free 2-day shipping with NO minimum purchase. Go here to check out all of the Amazon deals we’ve posted recently!

    Thanks WalMart !

Lol, that’s what I was thinking!

    • Wren

Same here!! πŸ˜†Free-market capitalism and competition is so great for companies and consumers!! ❀️

      • Casey

lol I was thinking the same!

I JUST saw this while i was looking at something on Amazon! I was like, whoa! but awesome! πŸ™‚ and headed over here to tell y’all, but apparently y’all saw too. πŸ˜‰

I hope they reduce the minimum to $35 because I’m not a prime members. After the increase to $49 I stop ordering. Last holiday I order books with a promo code from amazon. I found other online sites to order from.

Same here. I was usually waiting to get my little orders up to $25, then at $49, I said forget it. Walmart is a bit of a drive, especially in the pouring rain today. I don’t mind waiting for things I’ve had on my wish list or for great sales but my little apartment prohibits too much shopping for lack of storage, thank goodness, lol.

  4. Garfield

This is probably because Walmart announced that they would offer free shipping with $35 purchase.

  5. Emily

So happy that Walmart and Target (and many other online stores) have ramped up the competition for Amazon with their shipping policies. I have prime so it doesn’t even affect me directly but I was super annoyed when they raised it up to the $50 threshold.

  6. Sarah

Walmart’s deal is still better because it’s free 2 day shipping, wheras I’ve noticed Amazon’s free shipping takes FOREVER to get to you. Not like a few years back where you could order and receive from Amazon in a week. It’s always longer than that if you don’t have prime.

    • Christie

In some cases I think orders are being shipped from China as I order a bra bag and it took a month. Amazon lost a lot of money from me when they went to $49.

Tip…If you use a discover card, you can use your rewards to pay…It has really helped me out! πŸ˜€

      • Me

I have a Amazon card and NEVER use my rewards to pay… instead I pay with my card to get the 5x points back then go to my CC and pay how much I spent on the order with my rewards, that way I still use my points and get points back!!! πŸ˜‰

Depends where it comes from I think. I just ordered with walmarts new 2 day shipping though and unfortunately it didn’t come when they promised – they didn’t even ship it for 2 days and then they sent it ground. :\

      • Annie

I think that’s true. I just ordered something from Walmart and it arrived in 4 business days instead of 2 days. That worked out fine for me, but it could be disappointing if you need an order to arrive quickly.

  7. darlene miller

Thank you Walmart I had stopped ordering because Amazon had raised the rate to $49 so I thank you!!!

  8. Emily

    Yay!!!!!!!

ATT is doing the same thing with offering unlimited Data since Verizon is πŸ™‚

    • Daniela

      Tmobile as well.

  10. Kathryn

But seriously you should all have Prime. So worth it!!! Not sure what I did before an Echo and Prime!

    • Leigh

Lol right? I was thinking “okay, but who doesn’t have prime?!?”

      • Daniela

I love getting guaranteed deliveries in less than 2 days, book a month, prime pantry, “Netflix”, “pandora”, 2% cash back with the Amazon card. It pays for itself pretty quickly.

        • Heather

          Wait, Netflix?!?!?!

          • K

I think she means Amazon streaming video and Amazon music.

            • Daniela

I figured for those who don’t have Prime, maybe they wouldn’t know what I meant. But yes video and music. I use both services every single day. I rarely watch live tv anymore, I just catch up on older shows I missed the first time around.

              • Elizabeth.M

Not to mention, awesome customer service!!

    • Bethany

Agreed! I don’t like Netflix, I love Amazon streaming! I save SO much because I’m able to buy items when they’re cheap and not have to wait until I meet a minimum threshold in my cart. (99% of the stuff I buy is on sale, and we all know how fast an Amazon sale can end.)

  11. Katie

This is great news for me! My Prime membership is going to end this month and I can’t afford to renew it. This will help lessen the blow and possibly allow me to still shop at Amazon πŸ™‚

    • Michelle

I’m not certain but I thought there was a payment plan where you could pay less than $15 a month for Prime. May want to check it out. And, the student prime is cheaper if you have a college student with a .edu email address. This is what I use since my daughter is in college.

  12. George Maxwell Jr.

I’m happy amazon smartened up. Thank you walmart !!

  13. Aly

I’m glad Amazon reduced their price on shipping also. So much for Walmart’s 2-day shipping. I ordered three items from Walmart.com two days ago (Thursday) and two shipped yesterday (Friday) giving me delivery this next Thursday….a week delivery! And, the third item is set to ship in a few days!
