So,I just got back from my wags. I was going to do the nivea deal and then use my rr’s to roll into doing the got2b deal and any other deals I found. While I was perusing the store I heard a mgr. paged to the beauty counter. THere a lady was asking why her rr reward didn’t print. The manager said because she paid for it with a register reward. She said the company now knows if you pay for something with a rr- and therefore a rr won’t print out anymore. She wasn’t even buying the same thing (ex. a nivea rr for another nivea). SO that made me empty out my cart and head home. ANyone else have this happen to them?? DO they have a written policy regarding what rr’s can be used on and does it say you can’t get rr’s when something is paid for with rr’s?? This may ending my walgreen’s shopping days! Thanks

Molly, I went yesterday and bought the Nivea and the Bayer. I used the Chapstick (wyeth) and Visine RR to pay and got my RR for both. I have not had a problem as long as the manufacturer is not the same.

  3. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I’m going now to roll the Nivea RR into the Ecotrin. I’ll let you know what happens.

Between ending the ESR and some problems I’ve had with WAGs recently…I may shop there less too.

  4. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

    Okay. Stupid question here probably.

What happens if I buy a product and get a RR coupon – but then have to return the product (because I bought the wrong size) – but I have already used the RR coupon??

Do they just give me a refund of my initial cost less the RR coupon issued???

  5. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I paid with RR yesterday for all my transactions. And I got back all my RR. No problems with them. I did have a problem with the wrapping paper. It’s not that clear. And I had to managers tell me corp messed that one up. So you have to get the 2/$1 ones. Even though the more expensive one is in the picture. Who cares it’s cheap *free* wrapping paper.

  6. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Heads up I got a CAT today that says 4/26/09-5/30/09 Buy 2 or more Hershey’s Bliss Chocolates and save $1.00 with coupon on next order (this is not a redeemable coupon).

Dear Hip 2 save…My coworker just went to wags and there were several people using coupons in a row (different people, just all using coupons). The cashier got fed up and said “I don’t have to deal with these coupons anymore. I am calling the manager” Then the manager came up and he said, ” I agree, coupons and getting things for free is not helping anyone out”. He continued by saying that he doesn’t have to honor the RR and coupons.!!!! My coworker emptied her cart and ran home!! What can we DO???

  8. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

    Amy,
call Corporate ASAP! That is so out of line! Explain to them in detail what happened. They will probably call your store and have a little talk with the manager. Make sure to ask them if they can email you their coupon policy too.

  9. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I’m a little discourage with Walgreens as well. One store a manager told me I couldn’t use more then one RR per transaction (won’t go to that store anymore). I went this Sunday to a different Walgreens and the cashier warned me that if I pay with RR it won’t generate new RR. I told her to do the transaction and we will just see, she went ahead and they DID print. She said “well your lucky.” (She was very nice, unlike some cashiers I’ve run into). Why is Walgreens all of a sudden getting so rude about things?? They shouldn’t offer RR if they are 1.) a pain to customer/cashiers/managers and 2.) if managers aren’t going to honor them?

  10. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Thanks for posting there. I know I have nabisco oreo and cakester coupons somewhere 🙂

  11. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I have been having problems with the RRs beeping when I try to use them. I make sure to have the right amount of items and have “fillers’ but the last two times they have beeped. I just came back from Wags where I got the Scrubbing Bubbles Auto Shower Cleaner for $0.52! Even though there is some aggravation involved the outcome is worth it. I paid oop $3.52 and got back a $3.00 RR!

  12. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Thanks for the tip. My coworker called corporate and they wrote down everything she said, told her that they were sending the complaint directly to the district manager in our area and he or she would be following up with my coworker shortly. Hopefully the district manager will have a chat with his store managers!!! Thanks again.

    Anonymous,
You are so right! It seems like each Walgreens store likes to make up their own rules, whch in turn makes their customers more confused!:(

It really doesn’t make much sense and I hope they develop a written corporate coupon policy soon.

  14. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Thank you for your response. My daughter and I appreciate all you do. We are learning but it is difficult when I don’t know the rules.

  15. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I went to a different Walgreens today than the ones I usually go to, and the rules were completely different. They had signs on every RR item that says “Limit one per customer per day.” The cashier was telling every customer who got rung up that they can only buy one RR item because the store does not want you to keep “rolling” the deals. I am so sad!
