Yippee! Be sure to take care of your servers! Tip them what your bill should of been, not what your total is. I am a server and I know how upset I get when someone uses a BOGO and tips me $5 when if they wouldn’t of used the BOGO they would of left me $10!! Sometimes it’s not how good your service is, it’s how much your bill is.

This is so awesome! We are headed to Disney World in a week. Rainforest Cafe is the only place we’ve chosen to eat that is not included in our dining plan! I will be couponing even at Disney! ๐Ÿ™‚

    I agree with Nicole.
    I tip for service,too:)
I just have a question to everyone …. I came from a country where don’t have to tip for service and I always wonder how much is the right amount for tip? (service for hair salon, restaurant,etc..)
I never left $10 for tip…Is that wrong?

General rule of thumb is 15% of the bill 20% or more if its really good food and SERVICE. A tip is just that a tip not expected but appreciated. I tip on my server because they are not the ones preparing my food but they are the one that is going to make or break my experience there. To many servers today think just because they are a server they will automatically get a big tip based on your bill-not so if your waiting on me. You should just tip whatever you feel that server deserves based on your experience at that time.

I agree with the first comment. I have been a server and make a pretty good amount of money on tips. If you rack up a bill for $300 (common with the Hibachi groups I’ll get), then it is not right to tip just $10, correct?
I think the tip should be reasonable to how much you are spending at the table. That $300 didn’t come from just one meal per person, that $300 came from drinks, bottle service, appetizers, desserts, pictures, etc.

I don’t know how this post became a lesson on tipping but since it has, I thought I would put my two cents in. I have been a server for 11 years and you should definitely be tipping on your bill and the service. If the service was good than 20% of your bill is what you should tip. Not many people know this but servers are not paid min wage, but instead a server’s min wage and it is only $3.15, and after taxes we don’t get a paycheck or if one it is minimal, a couple of dollars. We depend on you to tip us so that we get paid. I do agree however that if you receive lousy service, you can tip accordingly to let the server know such. That is what we think when we don’t receive the standard 20%.

Nicole, Anon, Thank you for respond to my question. I was so surprised to know that servers are not paid min wage.I’ll keep in my mind about that ๐Ÿ™‚
