For those of you who have kiddos who would prefer to hang out with Fancy Nancy, Poet Extraordinaire, you may opt to head over to Borders instead at 11AM. Borders is requesting that you come dressed in your fanciest best (this is right up my daughter’s ally 🙂 ) and they’ll provide the poetry writing, giveaways, word games and more. Note that Fancy Nancy herself will not be present.

Thomas versus Fancy Nancy…which one wins in your family?

(Thanks, MiamiMommySavings!)

For those of you who want to tackle an Earth Friendly arts and craft project on Saturday, head on over to your local Lakeshore Learning Store on April 17th from 11AM-3PM where kids can decorate an Earth Day bag.

Is the planter box at all participating Lowe’s, or just some?

    • MoKeaton

Yes, that made sense. Are all Lowe’s participating, or just some?

    • Alicia

If you just start the sign up process on the Lowe’s Build & Grow site it will list the stores participating in your area.

too bad these are all for kids 3+. 🙁 my son is only 17 months.

I know, I was so excited about the planter for my 3 year old and 18 month old… only to find out its for those in grades 1 and up!!! Major bummer

Wow! They all sound really awesome… We picked the Planter because my mother in law is a teacher and she made her own garden at shcool with her kids so I thought that would make a cute mothers day gift from the grandkids…. On a side note there is a Lowe’s 2 miles from my house and it was very easy to sign up…. Thanks Collin, this is going to be great!

Thanks for the reminder. I’ve been wanting to do one of the Lowe’s projects with the kids, but hadn’t yet. I really like the planter. Very cute!

My daughter will be thrilled with the fancy nancy event! Thanks for the info!

Signed up online for the Lowe’s planter clinic for my 7 year old son. He is not very hands on unless it is a video game. this should be good for him.

Fancy Nancy! I love her. Does anybody have any 8/9 girls that still like Fancy Nancy? I would love to throw a Fancy Nancy birthday party for my daughter’s 9th, but I am worried it might be too young. Any ideas? or should I hold off and do it for my next daughter’s 7th birthday?

Thanks Collin! I am taking my daughter to the one a week from Saturday making bird feeders! She is excited and LOVES watching the birds eat off of our makeshift feeders (out of pine cones and peanut butter 😉 )

Thanks for posting Collin. My 6 year old daughter is learning about the parts of a plant. I pulled a weed the other night and she got made at me for pulling a ‘root’! I’ve signed her up for the Lowe’s project this weekend. Looks like an easy way to hae her make something, plant and learn. Oh, and get her and my husband out of the house for a little while on a Saturday! Have a great weekend!

my girls do these things at lowes and they love it and love getting to use a real hammer, and the patches are alot like the ones with girlscouts. i love the planters they made this morning and they have fun. next week will be a birdhouse.

We enjoyed making the planters too! It was fun and just for future reference the age is just a recommendation, my youngest is 5 and he did fine with a little help from mom, there were even kids younger then that there. The bonus was that they gave the kids seeds and soil, along with a reusable bag that had a coupon in it for $10 off $50 purchase! We can’t wait for birdfeeders next week!

I did this with my Nephew today and he’s 7 and he loved it! Can’t wait to take him next weekend. On the door they had what they were doing every Sat. up to June. Looks like our Sat. mornings are going to be busy for a couple of hours now 🙂
