Well, today’s “Follow Me Monday” video is once again me sitting on the couch, answering questions, being lazy… BUT this time I have a special guest! 😉

As you may remember, I had you all email in questions that you were hoping I could answer. I received a total of 25 pages worth of questions, so just like the previous “Follow Me Monday” video I’m at it again trying to answer as many questions as I can– which is not very many due to my rambling.

Enjoy!

  24. Erin

Ma is sooo cute!! She reminds me a lot of my Grandma. My Grandma was frugal to the core! Growing up, we never went to the store to shop, we shopped Grandma’s stockpile!! Hugs to Ma!

  25. Kate

What a fun video! Though I didn’t learn a whole lot, only because I have been following you since almost when you first started (well, I guess I learned that!), it was very entertaining and encouraging! Thanks again for all you and your family do!

  26. theresa

Love your Grandma! You can’t beat a good real estate deal – love it. My Mom started me with coupons when my son was a baby. He is twenty-eight. I love your blog. Thanks much.

  27. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Colin, your Grandma is a riot! I am so glad that I logged in one last time for today. You come from good stock girlie. I really enjoy your good karma and positive outlook. Keep up the good work. We love ya!

  28. Michelle/Bettendorf

Ma is ADORABLE! LOVE IT LOVE IT! She is one proud grandma:) How exciting to share this with her:) Thanks for all you do. I have been saving money like crazy, because of you! By the way, $3 something for cereal on sale??!?!?!?!?! That is crazy. Teach grandma a thing or to will ya or ship her cereal once a month, that just is crazy. My price point for cereal is about .50 a box and I get that pretty often:):) Take Care. Bye Ma! Have a safe trip!

  29. Janet T

Awesome video Collin! Your Grandmother is great! I was right at home with her accent, most of my family lives on Cape Cod. 🙂

  30. Nicole Price

Oh my gosh! How great is your grandma? This was one of the best follow me monday vidoes yet. She’s awesome 🙂 Thanks for sharing your time with us…you should really take her shopping before she goes home and stock her up on some cereal and shampoo and stuff 🙂

  31. savyshoppingmommy

Probally going to think Im a dork, but Im only 28 and all my Grandparents have passed on more than 5+ years ago. Before I became a stay at home Mom I used to work with Senior Citizens as a Program Coordinator for a Rec Senior Center. Just being around Grandparents it brings a smile to my face and a few memories go through my mind and kind of just make me feel at peace. Your Grandmother is ADORABLE…and just seeing your few interactions with her, make me think you have the same relationship I did at one time and actually made me shed a happy tear while watching this video! Spend as much time and Cherish your “MA” as I already know you do. 🙂 Oh and when you got near the end and said okay this email is from Crystal…I was like oohh its mine LOL…and it so was not…maybe next time! Apparantly your already read a ton from Michigan during this video!

  32. Linda Anglin

Eeek! I waited until it was quiet in my house to watch and now it won’t work here or on the youtube channel – Help! I need my “Follow Me Monday” fix!! It starts fine but then these little circles come up and spin and it freezes every 6-7 seconds. Can anyone help?

  33. Tuesdae

First I want to say thanks for working SO hard for finding deals for us. Your grandmother is so adorable…makes me miss my grandmother who passed away 2 years ago…she did use coupons and actually kept track of her savings…LOL. She was still alive when I started couponing and she use to say that I got it from her 😀 Everytime I am at the store…mainly Publix…I always apologize to the person behind me for the delay and I always different reactions…some ignore me, some praise me, some ask how to I do it and where I get coupons but I must say…the cashiers are always interested in how much I saved. Anyways…thanks again for you HARD work Collin!!! I love HIP2SAVE!!!

  34. Tara

What a great video! Your grandmother is absolutely adorable!

  35. Linda

My parents live in Massachusetts, and my mom tries to do lots of her grocery shopping at Aldi in Raynham, MA. You can get good quality cereals there for about $1.50. She shops there every 3-4 months with her best friend, and buys enough frozen meat & fruit, and paper goods for the next few months.
I text my sister and mom the WGs deals every week, and they love them.
I totally scored a deal on the Scrubbing Bubbles cleaner today- paid $2.99 for both a starter kit and the refill. I lost the Target $5 gift card coupon (oh well), but still made off pretty well, and will turn in a second SC Johnson rebate when I get Ziploc bags soon (BOGO). The teenage guy cashier was super impressed. 😉
And I totally went through my closets and cupboards last night, and donated 2 grocery bags full of stuff to a local food bank. They were so excited to get the stuff, and it was great to empty out my space.
    Thanks Collin!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • Linda

Oh, and I stopped off at a grocery store on my way home from Target, and saved more than I spent. I love it!!!!

  36. JoR

    your grandmother rocks!!!
    thank you both

  37. Lesley H

I loved your video and your grandma. Her spunkiness reminds me a lot of my own grandmother who died last year at 92. My husband always wanted me to take lessons from her about how to save on our grocery bill. I’m saving more than her now and eating the foods we love (grandma cut corners and ate the least expensive items she could find!). Thank you for your hard work and for introducing us to more of your family.

  38. Dawn

Collin, you have quite the HIP Grandma 🙂

  39. Sandy

Oh my gosh..your gramma is adorable! I take my mom shopping with me almost everyday. We get a walk in and score somedeals. At 89 she is an extreme couponer!

  40. D

I really like what your grandma said ” Don’t let anybody ever discourage you, keep on going…” that put a smile on my face. 🙂 That quote can be applied into following your dreams/goals and not giving up on them. 🙂

    • D

By the way I’m writing that quote down on paper and putting it on my wall board for inspiration! 🙂 thanks for the video!

  41. JenniFer L.

Thank you so much for this video. I hope those of us who worry about the line behind us will be inspired by Ma’s advice. Yes, It is Hip to Save!

  42. Emily

Ma is awesome! I did miss the written comments on the video. Those are always the best! 🙂 I also just wanted to say that I scored .75 cent deodorant at walgreens without a coupon. I am in the first stages of couponing so I have not gotten to spend cents on health/beauty products yet.

  43. Sara Hintz

Ok, your grandma just absolutely made my day… I needed a good giggle with her dancing. She is just precious… it is obvious how proud she is of you and your website:)

  44. Sally

Wonderful video…. lucky, lucky you to have your grandma with you. My tip: Ask her lots of questions, about her life, her husbands, your mom, dad, aunts and uncles. Have her write names on all the photos; one day (when you are much older) you will have so many questions and won’t be able to get answers. Enjoy every minute with her.

  45. Rebecca

You go, Grandma! You seriously rock!

  46. Suzy

Well now we know where you get your awesome personality from. Love your Ma and her shirt and dance.
Give her a “squeeze” from all of us.

  47. Kimberly Harris

Hello Grandmaw from Russellville Ky. Love ya !!! Great video Collin , thanks so much for all you do.

  48. Katy Carnes

Love it….love it….love it….thanks for the smile!!! Thanks for all you do for us Collin!!

  49. Nicole Dz.

That video was AWESOME! LOVE IT! Very HIP!!!!

  50. kristen

Best video ever! I just want to squeeze that cute little grandma! Love her!
