Need to stock up on lunch boxes for school in the fall?! Then be sure to head over to Target and check out the Embark lunch boxes or to Walmart and check out the Arctic Zone insulated lunch packs. Not only do these lunch boxes contain coupon booklets with over $15 worth of coupons, but they also offer a FREE 6 month subscription to Parents Magazine (be sure to look for the advertisement tag hanging on the side of the lunch box). If you do not wish to receive the Parents magazine, you can write refused on the advertisement and return it with your receipt; in exchange, you will receive a check for $4.96 (note: you will not receive a check for the cost of the lunch box; you will receive a $4.96 check which is the value of the 6 month Parents Magazine subscription)!

The lunch boxes range in price from $3.79 to $12.99 at Target and start at $3 at Walmart so snag the cheapest lunch box and this will turn into a FREE lunchbox (if you opt not to receive the Parents magazine).

Below is the list of manufacturers coupons found in the lunchboxes:

I saw that and from what I read I thought it meant they will reimburse you for the mag subscription if you already subscribe, not reimburse you for the cost of the lunch box. Am I wrong?

    • Megan

We bought the same lunch bag pictured in gray for $3.99. I was looking at it while hubby was driving us home and was sooo excited to see this. It was an item we needed anyway, so getting a refund on a subscription we don’t need is pretty sweet. 😀

  2. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

What if you already have a subscription to Parents Magazine??

    • cindy

You can do as she says and write refused and get the check.

      • cindy

Also, says on card that if you get it already they will add 6 months onto it.

I bought my son a backpack at Toys R Us and you get a free lunchbox. It had these coupons and magazine offer inside also. Its only certain ones though. My daughters did not have anything in it.

I just got back from Target today–got 2 active wear jackets, a skirt, a bra, 4 Bic pen packs, 4 Strident gums, a Quatrto razor gift set and 9 composition binders for $6.24 (retail $97.11). I have not been to Target in quite a while. I just went for the pens but did a little clearance shopping with the new Target coupons that were recently posted–found some very good buys. Missed the lunch pail!

composition notebooks were on sale for 25 cents at my Target. Did not see this advertised but may have been.

    • Piyamas

I never, never, never find these deals at my local Target. When people write in that stuff is on clearance, I go to the store and it’s just regular price (recent example: Tide stain tablets) It’s so frustrating.
If it’s not too much trouble, could you list the items and how it came out to 6.24?! I’ve got to be doing something wrong! Thanks.

      • Janine

Same thing happens to me when I go to my target:(

        • jiya

          Same here.

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I look in clearance on a regular basis sometimes I find stuff and sometimes I don’t. Used 2 $5 Target clothing coupons on the jackets priced at about $4 each (free with overage), the $2 Target apparel on the skirt so about $2.50, bra was $5 on clearance but actually rang up at $2.50 (surprized me), the gum was free after coupons, Quattro set was $6 but $2 after $4 coupon, pens 40 cents after Target coupon, composition books $2.25 and used leftover $ from a GC so came to $6.24 with tax. I was just lucky on this trip.

You’re not doing anything wrong–think it is just luck sometimes. I got a raincheck for 4 Monopoly board games (in March?) when they were priced really low like $6. My Target was out. The next week the games were priced at $10 plus if you spent $10 or more on a board game you got a free Hasbro card game ($5-6). I got 4 Monopoly games priced at $10 and on a whim also purchased the 4 Hasbro card games. The card games rang up free. I then presented the rain check to the cashier and used 4 $4 Hasbro Monopoly game coupons. In the end I got 4 Monopoly games and 4 Hasbro card games for $8 plus tax.I did not plan it–it just worked out that way. I put those items away for Xmas.

I bought my daughers the cutest lunch “purses” and these coupons were inside. They were $9.99 , but the bags are just so sweet!

  6. Julie

I got my hubby one in black for him to take water, pop, etc with him to work. Its the perfect size for that–and with the magazine refund….FREE!! 🙂

  7. Lisa

I saw this same lunchbox with the coupons at Walmart for $3.00.

  8. Renee

Do you return the Parents certificate to the store? Or send it out in the mail?

    • Audra Z

You send it in the mail with a copy of your receipt. The card says no postage necessary but you will have to put it in an envelope with the receipt so I’m not sure why even bother with No postage necessary.

  9. Hollie

This is cool! I was shopping with my Dad yesterday and he was looking at the lunch boxes because he needs a new one. I guess I’ll have to go pick out one for him and give it as a gift!

  10. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I got 2 today, and the mail in “rebate” if you don’t want the magazine is a limit of 1 per household. FYI

    • rblondish

I had the same question, there is an email address on the magazine card. I going to send an enquiry and I get back to you.

      • Teri

I have the same question. I got my first lunch pack about a month ago. Just got another one at Target this past week and about to send out another magazine “refused” card. I probably should use my parents’ or mother in law’s address, huh?

  11. Danika

I remember seeing this post this morning but not thinking much about it. Then we went to buy school supplies at Target. My son picked out this exact lunchbox with no input from me! I didn’t even think about it until we got home and he opened it up and said “Hey look Mom! There’s some coupons in here for you!” (I have him well-trained!) Thanks for this post…I would have just thrown away that Parents magazine card!

  12. Crissy

I picked up one of the $3 bags at walmart yesterday. I’m skeptical about whether I’ll actually get the Parents reimbursement, but we’ll see. This is the first rebate I’ve submitted. I tried to do them before, but I’m not organized enough to follow all the instructions & send them in by the deadlines, so after missing out on a few I decided not to do them right now. Do you typically send your rebates by certified mail or anything to have proof that you actually sent it?

  13. Samantha H.

I also went to Target and bought a lunch box with the coupons inside and the Parents magazine subscription. I paid $3.99+tax and will be getting the refund for the magazine so it’s free + a little overage! I also make copies of what I have submitted for refunds. I haven’t had any problems except trying to buy the Oil of Olay body wash back in the winter at Big Lots for $1.00 each, 3 total, and getting a refund of $15.00. They sent the letter back stating I didn’t buy the right product but that is the only issue I had. I have received rebates from Toys R Us and Lowes recently without any problems.

  14. Kate

Mine did not have the same coupons. I only received the last 5 listed. I specifically wanted Caprisun and nada.

  15. Stacy

Anyone have the fine print on these? I assume it’s 1 per household, but is that for both the Embark WM one and the Arctic Target one? Meaning, can we do both?

  16. dr_beanz

Where did you find your lunchboxes at Wal-Mart? We had none in the Back to School section; they were some in the housewares, but not this brand at all.

    • Crissy

My WM had a whole section of lunchboxes/bags with all the school supplies. I saw more of them on another row with the travel mugs & tupperware.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I found them in Back to School…by the backpacks. Only $3. My coupons were kind of sucky, but I’ll try the magazine thing…

  17. kceldridge

My aunt just gave me her set of coupons from buying these and I remembered this post. Wondering if anyone out there got their rebate for this?

    Thanks.

  18. mary martin

I sent this in – no rebate yet – any contact info?
