To celebrate Geoffrey’s Birthday, Toys R Us is having a Buy 2 Get 1 FREE sale on various items including ALL Hasbro Games and LeapFrog Tag books– which means you can score some pretty sweet deals…

Deal Scenario #1:
Buy 3 Monopoly and/or Sorry Games on sale for $7.99 each
Minus buy 2 get 1 FREE sale = $15.98 for all 3
Use 3 $4/1 coupons found here (no longer available 🙁 )
Final cost ONLY $3.98 total– just $1.33 per game!

Deal Scenario #2:
Buy 3 LeapFrog Tag Junior books $10.99 each
Minus buy 2 get 1 FREE sale = $21.98 for all 3
Use 3 $4/1 coupons found here or here or in the 9/19 SS
Final cost only $9.98 total– just $3.33 per book!

If you have any issues trying to snag these deals, explain to the cashier that you are getting one item free from the stores sale, however, you are still technically “buying” that item according to the manufacturer. The store is NOT losing out because coupons should be treated the same way as cash.

  1. Tawanda

Thanks C! Bday parties have started and these make great gifts!

  2. diana

Leap frog tag books MUST be used off a 13.99 book – according to the coupon AND toysrus (took them in last sale)
But still a good deal if used on regular books

  3. sophia

Its only allowing me to print two??
I tried printing one more to get the deal but its saying I already printed out what Im allowed or something like that?
    Help?
How can I allow it to let me print one more?

    • Lizel

Limit is usually 2. If you have to Laptops/desktops you can print another set of 2.

      • sophia

Oh darn! Looks like its a trip to the library for me!!

        • tilla ham

fyi don’t think you can print coupons at library because at least at our library it will not allow you to install coupon printers

    • Liz

There is the same coupon today in the USA weekend magazine from the paper!! Yay! Now I have three coupons. Heading to TRU now.

      • Rita

FYI, the #s at the very bottom are the same but the #s under the barcode (top right) are NOT the same. The top right #s/barcode is it’s unique identifier. This is not a PDF coupon and should not be copied.

        • Brandy

Rita, Which coupon is not a PDF?

          • nikki d.

THE 5/25 coupon listed above for Toys R Us….

        • Julia

So how did this coupon come about then? You’re saying we shouldn’t print it out?

      • sophia

Liz!!! Thank you!!! LOL! I DID clip that coupon and didn’t even realize it from 30 min early in the day!! You saved me a trip to the library! 🙂

  4. mariam

I got the same coupons in my smartsource paper today…. Im in Illinois by the way

  5. Miranda

How can I use multiple coupons in one transaction if it states on the coupon itself ONLY ONE PER CUSTOMER/TRANSACTION? Do you just try anyway and hope they take them?

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

My coupon states: Limit one coupon per purchase. There’s no mention about only using 1 coupon on your entire shopping order.

  6. Melanie

I noticed the coupons say LIMIT ONE COUPON PER PURCHASE, so how would it work?

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

One coupon per purchase of item – you are buying 3 games so 3 coupons can be used.

      • Melanie

        oh duh! lol. thanks

  7. Mama Bear

I don’t think that the $4 Tag Book coupon is supposed to be used on Tag Jr. Leapfrog has always had a separate $3 off coupon for those.

    • Bridget

The coupon does say ANY Tag book over 9.00 🙂

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I agree that the coupon is meant for the TAG books, which are different from Tag Jr books. Two different products…two different names…different coupons. They require a different electronic pen to work, so I do no think the coupon is meant for both.

  8. jen

    Bought
    two sorry games 7.99 each
one clue game 17.99 (so expensive but my daughter wants it for xmas)
    used 3-$4 off coupons
and the $5 off $25 coupon

    Total for 3 games 8.98!
Used at the Murray, Utah location and checker at customer service was excited about the great deal I got.

  9. Tallymomma

I got these same coupons in my Parade Magazine in my news paper today. I’m in Tallahassee, FL. Just a heads up to check before ya throw them away 🙂

  10. Liz

Thanks Collin! Just got back from TRU. Worked great, used all three coupons and the $5 off $25 for a few more items. Saved me $35.99!!!!

  11. ANDREA

I got Monopoly City, Life 50th anniversary and Harry Potter Clue for 44.00. We have been wanting all three games. Great deal!!

  12. Mila

Is the sale only for today?

  13. Kathleen

UGH! I was at Toys R Us today too. I could not remember what games were on sale and they did not have any flyers. I called my mom and asked her to tell me which games were $7.99 since I didn’t see any sale tags. She told me the sale was only on 9/25 so I didn’t look any further. UGH!!!

But I did get 3 Play-Doh play sets and 3 four packs of doh, and the new EyePet game using copons for about $74 with coupons. They also gave us a $10 gift card for buying the EyePet game (which isn’t active for about 6 hours).

  14. Melanie

does anyone know how the long the sale goes on for?

  15. cheryl

whats the best deal for the playdough coupon ? i really want to use it, but get the best possible deal. cheap, i know! haha

  16. Jennifer

I was wondering if any one had tried to do this deal on the card games or if they think it would work?
The coupons don’t seem to exclude them (the wording is eg ANY monopoly game) and they are only 5.99 to start with.

    • mandee

I thought it was only hasbro games and got all messed up but at the end I got a minni connect 4, sorry, and the sorry card game and the sorry card game was free so I guess so also the when I got home I looked at the rest of my coupons and it said no for card games but it worked.

  17. Bridget Leary

well , I just came back from TRU after trying this deal, and the problem is, the buy 2 get one free is only on Hasbro games. I was not able to match up the games on the 4.00 coupon with any games on sale for 7.99 included in the buy 2 get one free deal 🙁

If anyone has figured this out , please post 🙂

    • Bridget

ok, so now I see that sorry, monopoly, and scrabble are all parker brother games ( marked on boxes), but it is a subsidary of Hasboro, but will this work on the hasbro buy2 get 1??

      • Tera

yes the coupons work on all those games, and the buy2get one free works on parker brothers game too.I just left the store and did diffferent transactions and they worked with theparjer brothers games, but the 4 dollar off coupons only work on the specific games.

  18. Jodi

Worked for me this morning in WVC, UT. I bought 3 Monopoly Jr games that were on Clearance for $9.99 each and they were b2g1f, also got 3 Leapfrog Jr Tag books. I was able to use all 6 $4 off coupons as well as $5 off $25 TRU, I paid $15 for 6 items. Thanks Collin!!!!

  19. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Anybody know if the sale is only for today?

    • Liz

No, the sale runs all week!

  20. Kathryn

Do all toys r us accept coupons? Or is it better to call ahead?

  21. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

our toys r us will not allow you use a coupon with the free item…..asked for the manager and they wouldnt not accept it.

  22. Janae at Frugal Finds 4 Frugal Minds

The sale is good through 9/25!

  23. Anna

Saw this awesome possibility today in the ad, went to try it out this afternoon. Bought 2 Sorry! and 1 Monopoly. Worked like a charm. The cashier tried saying that she couldn’t take the $4 off coupon on the free item and I gave her a “What? Why not?” look, she then proceeded to scan it and it went through. After tax my total came to $4.94!

  24. chrystal

so I went into TRU today and they flat-out refused my Q’s . they said its 1 Q per purchase, and I had explained to them I am”purchasing 3 items so I can use 3 Q” they refused,i even talked to 2 managers! where do I go from here…….I want to explain to them that they are wrong, but how do i when they all think they are right!?!?! I said its 3 items I am purchasing in 1 transaction!
    Help me Collin!!

    • Janae at Frugal Finds 4 Frugal Minds

You can call Toys R Us Corporate and explain what happened and how upset you are. Or try going to a different Toys R Us.

      • Ann

I had the same issue and then they told me it was the corporate policy NOT to accept any printed coupons! They had to come from the newspaper. Grrr… Held up the line for quite a while. So embarrassing and frustrating. Corporate will for sure hear from me tomorrow!

        • Andrea

I’ve used printed coupons at TRU before. Did it last December when the games were on sale and for the Toy Story 1 and 2 Blu-ray combo packs. Never had a problem.

    • Danielle

I had the same thing happen. I did call corporate and was told that Toys R Us does not accept coupons on any items that are on sale. WTH???? Corporate was less helpful than the cashiers and managers. GRRRR

  25. Bridget

Wahoo, I went back and got Sorry, scrabble, monopoly + Hey Taxi (game, too cute) on clearance for 4.98 and a dry erase lined poster on clearance for 6.98. Used the 5 off 25.00 , plus 3 of the 4.00 off coups for the games. Total out of pocket was 11.82 :).

  26. Nicole

2 Monopoly and 1 Pictureka flipper (on clearance for 12.48, originally 29.99) with 2 online coupons and 1 for Pictureka = 4.98 for all the games!!

Since the computer recognized the monopoly games for 12.99, then automatically deducted $5, it recognized the Pictureka (12.48) as the cheapest to give me free.. then $12 in coupons= one happy birthday closet for less than $5

    Des Moines store

    • Tera

I wanted to do the pictureka game but it was not included in the buy 2 get one free i though!

    • Sarah B

So glad to see there is someone from the Des Moines area that follows and has tried this. Sometimes I wonder if things work as well here in Des Moines as they do else where. Everywhere else seems to always have great sales, but Des Moines seems to be lacking. I will have to go and try this out! Thanks for the post!

  27. Rie

I did the first deal scenario and bought 1 Sorry & 2 Monopoly games + the $10 Tinkerbell dvd preorder for a total of $25.99. I handed the cashier the 5 off 25.00 TRU coupon first which she scanned and seemed to go through. I then gave her the 3 $4/1 MQ coupons which went through without a problem either. After all this, the cashier tells me I couldn’t use the 5 off 25.00 TRU coupon because my MQs brought my total under $25 and gave me that coupon back. I didn’t make a big stink b/c all things considered this was still such a GREAT deal. I’m just wondering how are some of you ladies able to use 5 off 25.00 coupon if the MQs brings the total under $25?

    • mandee

give them the $5 off $25 first after they scan it give them the rest of the coupons.

    • mandee

look on your resp she may have given back a coupon that went threw it says $5 off $25 and it breaks it up on each item your buy.

      • Tera

I just always let them know that those coupons always apply to the total before coupons and as long as it scans they take it.

    • Jill

The exact thing happened to me. I actually was going to purchase 4 games as I had 4 – $4.00 off coupons. When I got home, I noticed on the receipt that the system automatically gives you the third game at 0.00 cost. So if you only have three or four games, it brings the total back under $25.00. The cashier would not allow me to use the $5 off coupon because my total was only $9.91. I beg to differ. I asked the clerk to wait a second while I got another item, she told me that it still would not work and gave me my coupon back. I wish she would have let me, however, I got such a good deal that I can’t complain (4 games that are normally 16.99 for $9.91). I am stocking up on stuff so that we may give them to charity at Christmas time. However, I still have 4 – $4.00 coupons and the $5.00 off of $25 so I am going back and trying it again!! This time I will make sure to get one more item for about $2.00 to make the total over $25.00.

  28. Rachel C.

If you go tomorrow and pay $10 to preorder the Tinkerbell blu-ray, you can do this deal on Tuesday:

    Tinkerbell blu-ray – $29.99
    3 Monopoly/Sorry games – $7.99 ea ($23.97)
Preorder Beauty & the Beast combo – $5.00
    Preorder Toy Story 3 combo – $5.00
-$7.99 (buy 2 get 1 Hasbro game promo)
    -$5 (5 off 25 ToysRUs coupon)
    -$10 (Tinkerbell deposit)
    -$10 (Tinkerbell printable coupon)
    -$4 (Hasbro printable coupon)
    -$4 (Hasbro printable coupon)
-$10 (save $10 on disney movie when you preorder Beauty)
-$10 (save $10 on disney movie when you preorder ToyStory) – these both work together!
=$2.97 oop (+ tax) AND get a $10 gift card!

So technically you will pay $12.97 for 3 games and 1 blu-ray combo pack, but after the gift card it’s like you are getting it all for $2.97!!!!!

    • Rebekah C

      Ok, I am confused:

      Tinkerbell blu-ray will be- $19.99
      3 Monopoly/Sorry games – $7.99 ea (B2G1 $15.98)
Preorder Beauty & the Beast combo – $5.00 (I thought they were $10.00)
      Preorder Toy Story 3 combo – $5.00 (I thought they were $10.00)
      -$5 (5 off 25 ToysRUs coupon)
      -$10 (Tinkerbell printable coupon)
      -$4 (Hasbro printable coupon)
      -$4 (Hasbro printable coupon)
-$4 (Hasbro printable coupon) – You should be able to use a third one
-$10 (save $10 on disney movie when you preorder Beauty)
-$10 (save $10 on disney movie when you preorder ToyStory)

= $8.97 OOP + get the $10.00 GC and $10 Q to pay for Beauty and the Beast, but how much will it be when I pick up Toy Story? Seems like a good deal.

    • Rebekah C

I found out, the amount you have to pay to pre order the movies does not count toward the $25 you have to spend to get $5.00 off 🙁 makes no sense to me, but that is what they said.

  29. Terah B

Thank you for posting this deal! I bought 6 Sorry games. I used the $5 off $25 and 6 $4 off coupons. Total out of pocket was $4.98!!!! I am one very happy shopper 🙂

  30. CHENG

    Hi,

I went to ToysRUs today to try to get the BUY 2 GET 1 FREE promotion.

I printed out three coupons and was told that I could only use 2 coupons instead of 3 coupons. This is because on the BUY 2 GET 1 FREE promotion, one of the board game is free and you can’t use the 4 dollar coupon. In the end, I only managed to use 2 coupons instead of 3. So, not able to enjoy 1.33 dollars per board game. In the end, each board game cost me about 3 dollars. Still consider quite ok.

  31. Melanie

I went and did the deal with the tag books, but at my toysrus the books were 13.99 no 10.99 so I ended up paying 17.20 rather than the 10 something. still a good deal I suppose but not as good as listed here.

  32. Rebekah C

I bought 6 games @ $7.99 and used 6- $4.00 Q’s and the $5/25 Q, and payed $3.98 including tax! .50 per Game! You have to make sure that they scan the 5/25 before the 4/1 Q’s.

  33. smellyann

Can someone please tell me where I can find the $5/25 SQ?? I missed it… 🙁 Thanks!

  34. Smitha

Anyone know of any printable coupons for Leapfrog Tag Junior System? I wanted to get one for my daughter…

  35. margaret in seattle

remember there is a $5 off coupon included in SOME of the hasbroa card games a while back when target had the crazy deals on board/card games? it makes the deal even better and the coupon even include scrabble that i really want to get. i will call my local toysrus to make sure first, they will take coupon on a free item, and secondly, $5 of 25 can be used on purchase over $25 BEFORE all coupons.

  36. danielle

I just got back from TRU and got 3 tag books. I used 3 $4 off coupons and the $5/$25 and only spent $11.58! Each book is originally priced $13.99!!!

  37. smellyann

PLEASE can someone email and tell me where/how to get the 5/25 coupon??

    melanie_odette@yahoo.com
    Thanks!

  38. kelly

Went today and got connect 4, clue, and monopoly. None of them were on sale though…. I saw someone write the sale is 9/25? Does anyone know if that is true? None of the games were marked lower than $12.99 (monopoly). Still a good deal and thanks for the info!

  39. Diana

I called my toysrus to make sure they accept coupons and internet printed coupons and the lady helping me said as long as the computer takes them they honor it. Then I asked about using a 3rd coupons for the free game and she said the same thing that they leave it up to the computer, if the computer will take it they dont have a problem with it.

  40. batkins

I’ve tried printing the hasbro coupon from 3 different computers and it has told me everytime that I’ve reached my print limit! We haven’t printed ANY…. Any ideas how we can fix it or if theres another site I can print the coupon from?

    • Andrea

It is usually out of prints when that happens. You either have to wait for it to reset or it won’t reset. I only printed two when it ran out. 🙁 Bummer

  41. dee

i have not printed a single coupon but its gives the message coupon limit reached… plz help

  42. SB

    Today I went and purchased:

    Buzz Light Year Operation $19.99
    Pictureka $19.99
    U Build Sorry $19.99
2 – Cake Bakery Playdoh Sets $15.99 ea
    Burger Builder Playdoh Set $15.99
    3 – 4pk Playdoh $2.49 ea

I used 3 $4 off coupons for the games and 3 Buy Playdoh Set get Free 4pk Playdough coupons.

    Value: $115.41
    OOP: $57.47 + tax

There were lots of clearance options to really make things a sweet deal, but I wanted to get items I knew I would gift out this year, so I bought each item with a specific child/holiday in mind. I’m pretty happy with my haul 🙂 On a side note the 4pk playdoh were B2G1F, and the lady took all 3 coupons, so that was an extra $2.49 off my total purchase. You can easily use the $5 Off coupon with this scenario as well.

  43. Julia

I just bought 3 tag books and 3 leapster games, I went in 2 times to use the $5 off $25 both times and used 3 MF coupons for each purchase no problem!

  44. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Is anyone having trouble printing the $4 off Monopoly coupon now? It let me print one the other day. But even on a different computer it says I’ve reached the limit.

  45. sarah

Is anyone having trouble printing the $4 off coupon now? It let me print only one yesterday. Now on a different computer that I never used its says print limit reached.
