soooooo….If I spend $35 dollars, They add the gratuity, THEN I apply my $25 certificate….so essentially I have to pay $10 + tip + whatever the certificate amount was?…..Can anyone help me that has used these before. I’d like to tell my hubby about them, but he’s so skeptical, that I have to be sure! 🙂

      Morganne,
I guess it depends on the restaurants also. I’ve used it once. The server told us drinks and tax are not included. I agree on the tax. The certificates states that the 18 percent gratuity is different than the tip (this I don’t understand). The certificate suggest we tip our server. It just sounds like not too good of a deal to us. I heard others don’t tip because the gratuity is the tip, and that their drinks are added to the meal and the $25 gets taken off of those total, before the tax is added. I’m even confusing myself in my attempt to explain.

that is typical for most restaurants some have different rules though…my husband and i used these on our vacation last year and really enjoyed ourselves! i would recommend restaurants.com deals for a week vacation we saved about $200 just by using these certificates

Im going to California next month with my boyfriend and were going on a tight budget. Were both college students so money isn’t something we really can splurge. I just wanted to know if we could use these when we go or if not did anyone have any ideas how we can save money on eating and maybe even Universal Studio tickets.
