What is Your Favorite "Hip" Deal from 2010?
As 2010 is coming to an end, I thought it would be fun to look back at the last 12 months and share my favorite deals and have you share your favorite deal(s) that you were able to score! Although there have been some deals that did not work out quite as well as we all had planned, there were many deals that turned out even better than we expected!
Here are some of my personal favorite “Hip” deals from 2010…

My pre-school son has 11 teachers (he moved to the “big” school late fall so there are twice as many this year) that I want to thank. Because of your site, all year long I was able to “hoard” full-size hair products, $10 razors, name-brand lotions, you name it!! I bought cute reusable baskets on super-clearance last January. There is more than $350 worth of EVERYDAY products – not fru-fru stuff they can’t use. With the Olay rebates and ECBs I ended up not “spending” a dime – but what really makes me happy is that I was able to create something for all his teachers all year, and I am not looking at a massive credit card bill in January! I am not comfortable just giving cash. The money you help me save lets me do “fun” stuff….like run the Marine Corps Marathon last October!

I just want to share a success story from one of the great deals you posted a few months back. Do you remember the post for the Tanger Outlet Facebook promo…like them and you get a $50 voucher for $25. Well the voucher email had to be redeemed in 10 days after receipt and I couldn’t make the hour drive within the time frame to pick it up. So, on my scheduled shopping trip with the fam, I emailed my local Tanger Outlet manager to see if he would still honor the deal. He was unable to do so, BUT he gave me a great alternative gift: A free coupon book (which came in handy for savings at several stores) and a FREE $50 gift card to the Ultra Diamond store. I thought for sure I couldn’t find anything for $50, but I DID! I got a beautiful black pearl drop necklace (pictured above)…for FREE! I didn’t even have to pay the $25 for the original voucher offer. How great is that!

There are sooo many deals I got last year because of this great site…but I did love the Water Secret book with free bag of $$$ Murad skin care products.
I just came across Collin’s blog for the first time around September and there have been so many awesome deals since then! One of my favorites was the CVS Oral B electric toothbrush deal (free toothbrushes and ECB credits too) and also the Murad book with free full- sized expensive products!! Thank you Collin for all the wonderful deals!!
I loved that deal, too! I was able to sell the full size products on ebay and made about $70. The people that got the stuff on ebay got a killer deal and so did I!
I LOVED the Gilt free $20 credit. However, I am SO thankful you posted the Heros at Home Gift Card promotion from Sears! I just got my second e gift-card today! I will receive my 3rd one in january! Thank you SO much!! I have saved SO much money because of everything you do. I’m thankful for YOU, your time, this site!!!

I agree so many…but my favorite thing was the free “sample” of coffee from Green Mountain coffee…it was a great steal! Thank you so much Colin for all you do all year long…your APPRECIATED!!!!
That was an awesome sample. My husband was confused on why i bought more coffee, he didn’t think that would be a free sample.

The Riteaid candy deal at Halloween was my personal favorite, the local manager at our Rite-Aid was FLOORED when I did the deal, everyone congratulated me, thank you Colin! haha
One of my faves is the recent ESPN (Tanga) deal. My husband is going to love that for Christmas! And all the Sears coupons throughout the year have been great! So many deals I couldn’t even do most of them. But I am so thankful for your site and all the money it saves my family. Thank you Collin!
This is my first year here and I have loved the deals that I have found here. One of my favorite deals was a helicopter that is usually $120 on Amazon went on sale for about $27. Well, my husband wanted it and he also had a $20 gift card to Amazon. We also had Amazon Prime accounts, so it came in 2 days for free. In the end, we paid, $7 and some change. My husband loves the helicopter.
Also, we told my brother-in-law about the helicopter and he jumped on the internet right then and purchased 3. Thanks, Collin. I have learned a lot and saved tons of money! I look forward to another fantastic year!
there are sooo many! ill forget some i know, but some to note were the gilt, ruelala, murad, petsmart coupons, toysrus, and AMAZON for sure. i cant think back to far, my brain usually shuts down after lunch… 😀
I loved the Medco deal when we got $10 of stuff for a buck (over, and over, and over again)! We all made out like bandits with our toilet paper, paper towels, biore strips, swiffer kits, toiletries, etc.
This one was GREAT! I got so much stuff for free…although a lot of my orders got canceled, that is the name of the game!

This was my first year of couponing so I have been thrilled all year long with pretty much EVERY deal!
The photo cards deals were amazing…it is hard to pick, though. Hip@Save is one of the things I am most grateful for:) Thanks!!!
Unfortunately I was only able to coupon a few months this year as my work has taken over my life and I cant even find time to cut coupons much less hunt for deals 🙁
However, my best deal was all the free large refill wipes at CVS and packs of diapers. My 1 year old went through a ton! And right as we ran out, he started potty training and we are almost done with pull ups as well 🙂

wow there have been so many but i loved the zhu zhu pets deal at CVS (im difficult to please because i dont do the deals even free ones that require credit card info so i miss out on alot) ohhh i also loved winning the free roses yesterday THANK YOU!. I try to tell you constinatly but i love evrything you do for us! I liked all the deals, but that Drugstore.com deal stands out- the one with the Seventh Generation discount plus a big bag full of samples!
The amazon diaper deal for sure….I still have half a year left from all that I bought! My hubby was SO proud of that deal.
I was excited when I won a $100 GC to Amazon from buxr…that let me splurge on non-essential stuff formy hubby this x-mas.
I loved the rue lala credits (Timberland shirt for hubby for $5.00 and Stride Rite shoes for $1.95) ….and that you introduced me to groupon, though my hubby is NOT happy about that!
Oh…and those snickitty snack coupons that I used at BRU…we are still eating them! I love free!

My favorite deal was the Thanksgiving cards totally FREE from Tiny Prints. I was able to get my grandma a personal set of “thank you” cards for free, and she is usually sooo hard to buy for.
There were tons of great deals that I wouldn’t have known about, except through your site. Thank you for all your hardwork!
My favorite was the gilt credit. I signed both my hubby and I up and we both got our son free books which he will be getting for Christmas this year. Also got the radio flyer bike Im hoping that it was worth 25 bucks! Also loved all the sweet freebies you posted…. oh and the proflowers voucher you posted the other day I was able to send my mom one more Christmas gift which she should be getting today. Oh man…that’s a tough one! Maybe one of the MANY free magazine subscriptions or the FREE stuff from Gilt, or the ongoing Amazon Mom diaper deals. How in the world am I supposed to choose? Thanks for such a super fun year 🙂 Even when the deals don’t pan out because it was really a price mistake or the like, it’s still a blast getting all excited about it!

I cannot say which is my favorite deal as all the deals you post are great!!!! I have gotten so much stuff this year for free or almost free that it has been soo great!!! And with two little ones, saving money is soooo helpfull!! Collin, you do such a great job, I don’t know what I would do if you ever decided to stop doing what you do!!!! My personal favorite deal was the 3 cosmetic bags for $8! I bought 9, for all of the girls in my family, I know they will love them!! My total without the coupon came to $188.70 and I got it for $48.88!!! That is a discount of $139.82 (: That is the largest amount I have ever saved!
First off, I wish to personally thank you Collin for doing this outstanding website. I have been couponing for years and years, but this site, helped me take it to another level. Since Jan.2010, I have saved so much that I have been able to donate food and non perishable items; lots of freebies; to the local food banks in my area.
My favorite deals are at Rite Aid. Just today, I spent over $26, to only have to pay $2.42 and get $3 in +UP Rewards, and will be getting a $5 Holiday Gift Savings Card. Plus I took 2 Reese’s Candy Bags and handed one to each one of my teenage cashiers that I see on a regular basis; wishing them a Very Merry Christmas. Just to see the look on their faces was PRICELESS! Thank you Collin for everything, and I look forward to another fabulous couponing year!
I loved the medco deals! I love amazon.com deals, I love JcPenney and stacking coupon codes. But my personal favorite deal, was the revlon fingernail polish where for each bottle purchased I earned a 4 dollar up. I was able to Make over 400 dollars in ups and buy a lot of things for christmas like MP3 Players and dvds. Stock up on cat food and allergy meds that are normally expensive…for each 10 bottles I paid 3.77 OOP and got back 20 in ups…amazing. On top of that, I was able to donate the nail polish to a local dance studio, and a basketfull for a charity auction.

Recently i went on a couple hour drive and stopped at every rite aid along the way lol such fun!
I enjoyed the Murad deal, as well as the Rue La La 20.00 credit that I just used to snag a 50.00 gift certificate from Beauty.com for 5.00!! Love that one. I can’t wait to see what comes in the new year!
I loved the Amazon diaper deals. I’ve loved getting to learn Rite Aid and making a mint there. I think the Rite Aid savings in October has been my favorite so far. Using the $40 I got back from there, along with coupons for both the diapers I bought and Rite Aid, I was able to get *4* BOXES of Luvs Diapers…and I made $10 cash on the deal! That doesn’t include the +UP rewards I got. I love the site, I read it several times a day. Looking forward to even more hip savings in 2011 (I might actually keep track of them this time 😉 )

I’m not sure I could pick just one. There have been SO many GREAT deals (Thank you!!). My most recent great deal was from Rue La La. I had $30 credit from first signing up and then referrring a friend. I ended up getting the beauty.com $50 gift card for free and still have $5.00 in my account !!! I still have my Gilt $20 credit I’ve kind of been “hoarding” for that perfect item. And then this Christmas I’ve done so great with finding a lot of toys on Amazon with the Amazon Prime 2 day shipping. I really couldn’t have gotten all these great deals w/o the help of you and your hard work. You really are wonderful and such an inspiration !!

The toy story 1 and 2 blue ray combo pack deals were probably some of my favorite. I love those movies and it was great getting them for so cheap.
ohhh i loved that deal too, i was able to purchase 3 of each of them, keep 1 of each fo rmyself, take the movie cash out of all of them and sell them for 30 bucks one bay…so i got the movies for myself, the movie cash for myself and made about 50 bucks cash too!!

I love my bath robe from Dove … I think that was my favorite! I loved the free flowers from 2 days ago from FTD, which I sent to a good friend and they were beautiful!!! There are WAY TO MANY deals for me to post a favorite because I love them all! But I did want to mention one thing that I got a kick out of this year. Earlier in the year Collin was getting a bad wrap for making lemonade out of “free” lemons… I personally do this too. This topic turned as sour as the lemons and I absolutely LOVE how Collin took that a made a very positive shirt out of it! I never ended up winning one but I LOVED THAT!!! Way to go COLLIN! My favorite deal was the last minute playdoh sets on amazon, I have saved TONS of money this year from this blog, I went to one of the local shops to donate over 150 worth of toys for the children in my area and only spent 22 oop, they didn’t get much and couldn’t believe how many different things I was able to get I have already started putting things back for next year for them :0) Thank you Collin for helping me give as I otherwise wouldn’t have been able to, I hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas and Happy New Year!
