As 2010 is coming to an end, I thought it would be fun to look back at the last 12 months and share my favorite deals and have you share your favorite deal(s) that you were able to score! Although there have been some deals that did not work out quite as well as we all had planned, there were many deals that turned out even better than we expected!

Here are some of my personal favorite “Hip” deals from 2010…

Amazon Diaper Deals (I know a lot of you snagged diapers and wipes at some amazing prices!)
EO Bubble Bath 3 pack for 96¢ shipped (regularly $40!)
FREE $20 Gilt credit which made for some FREE items!
Pro-Force Cleaning Kit sample from Sam’s Club…turned out to be quite the “sample”!
Rite Aid Halloween Candy Craziness (can you say stomach-ache?!)
High value $2/1 Pampers Wipes Coupon

Check out these emails (and pictures below) from readers, Rachel and Steph. Rachel shares how she has used some of her favorite deals…

My pre-school son has 11 teachers (he moved to the “big” school late fall so there are twice as many this year) that I want to thank. Because of your site, all year long I was able to “hoard” full-size hair products, $10 razors, name-brand lotions, you name it!! I bought cute reusable baskets on super-clearance last January. There is more than $350 worth of EVERYDAY products – not fru-fru stuff they can’t use. With the Olay rebates and ECBs I ended up not “spending” a dime – but what really makes me happy is that I was able to create something for all his teachers all year, and I am not looking at a massive credit card bill in January! I am not comfortable just giving cash. The money you help me save lets me do “fun” stuff….like run the Marine Corps Marathon last October!

Steph shares one of her favorite deals from 2010…

I just want to share a success story from one of the great deals you posted a few months back. Do you remember the post for the Tanger Outlet Facebook promo…like them and you get a $50 voucher for $25. Well the voucher email had to be redeemed in 10 days after receipt and I couldn’t make the hour drive within the time frame to pick it up. So, on my scheduled shopping trip with the fam, I emailed my local Tanger Outlet manager to see if he would still honor the deal. He was unable to do so, BUT he gave me a great alternative gift: A free coupon book (which came in handy for savings at several stores) and a FREE $50 gift card to the Ultra Diamond store. I thought for sure I couldn’t find anything for $50, but I DID! I got a beautiful black pearl drop necklace (pictured above)…for FREE! I didn’t even have to pay the $25 for the original voucher offer. How great is that!

So…now it’s your turn! What was your favorite deal(s) of 2010? Be sure to let us know in the comment section below. And here’s to lots of great and amazing deals in 2011! 🙂

Green Mountain Coffee, Medco and others stand out during the year, but your frequent Christmas shopping updates have been incredible. I just received my second shipment from 1928 and my Foodsaver is being delivered today. I’m so thankful for all you do to pass the deals along to us.

  2. Jackie

Loved the deals at Bath & Body Works, Target pj deals, as well as the free Hungry Hippos game and many many more! Thanks Collin!

  3. Jessica C

I loved all the deals, but I especially loved that for the first time EVER my family was able to donate three big boxes of food and countless toys this Holiday season! I love that we were able to give so much, and this coming year I’m going to be stockpiling even more for Toys for Tots!

  4. Randi

I loved all of the high dollar Huggies coupons & the list of instant win games! I won the play-doh game and got a $50 gift card! I liked the Medco deal and loved when we could use the $5 off $20 coupons at RA multiple times…I liked the Hasbro game deals too… so many great deals! Thanks for saving us lots of money!

  5. Suzanne

I can’t chose – I have saved over $2k at CVS this year, just under $3k at the grocery store + all of the other countless discounts!!!! I have donated way more than I ever have in the past – to the Food Bank, toiletries to a homeless program, Toys for Tots, Salvation Army stocking items – the list goes on and on. Collin, your work has really allowed my family to live pretty fat and happy all while paying it forward. Thank you! Oh, if I have to pick just 1 deal – it would be the 9 bottles of Pantene that I paid $.41 for at CVS (and was able to share with my sweet niece)!

    • mamabear

      wow good job!!!!!!!!!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

you go! that is amazing…it has enabled us to do so much too. My son is doing a senior project on Poverty and the Working Class, he was able to coupon shop with me and donate over 750 items (about 3k in food) that cost us about $55 out of pocket

  6. SSJ

I started 2010 on January 1st with the amazing deal
    1) Earth’s best when I got 12 diaper packs for ~$20 (No, I didnt clear the shelf). Amazon diaper deal is fine but nothing compared to the Earth’s best deal at 0.4 per organic diaper (Size 3) v/s 0.14 cents/diaper for Pampers (Size 4)
    2) Medco deal when I got Cetaphil products for my baby for almost nothing.
    3) Gilt deals
    4) JC Penny deal earlier this month when I got originally $120 priced items for $19OOP.
    5) Target Sonicare brush for $ 9.99 and for this one my husband is thankful to H2S as he has been wanting a replacement for over a month cause baby broke the original one.

  7. beth wolfe

one of my many favorites would have to be the Nivea body wash for men and the one for women I still have a bunch left. with a house full of 6 boys we go through it alot. Thanks alot for all you do.

  8. nicole

Its hard to pin point one deal as there has been so many….I do love all the deals on diapers as I had a baby in Jan, which is right around the time I started following Hip2save…..Thank You Collin….

  9. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Thanks for all you do Collin, you have sooo helped me out this Christmas!! I was able to score my husband a great $200 retail razor from viewpoints FREE that I found out about through your site, and I gave my mother-in-law a great gift using my free $20.00 gilt credit. Happy Holidays to your family and thanks again for all you do!

  10. Gina

How can I choose?!! My first experience with couponing was the Rite Aid huggies diapers that scored a $10 gift card in August. Back in September when it was all the good back to school deals; especially at Staples. I was able to stock my classroom on the cheap. Then came October and my super inexpensive Halloween Candy. And a huge order of BabyLegs for only 20 bucks! On Thanksgiving day I was at the stores snagging all my freebies…which many I was able to donate or use as gifts. I am looking forward to the CVS photo books next week! I am looking forward to 2011 and many more deals. I can’t thank you enough Colin for all the deals and the money you have save my family!

  11. Renee

Checking my mailbox has become a daily adventure thanks to all the great posts on this site. Many Thanks to Collin for all that she does! If I had to pick just one deal from 2010, I would have say the Gilt $20 credit was my favorite. I would never have found this one on my own and I was able to get a set of beautiful wine glasses completely free. Happy Holidays Collin and all you “Hip” Readers!

  12. Amber Stickney

MEDCO deal was AWESOME! Fat Boy ice cream deal was sweet too!

  13. rebecca

Medco! Yes I did that deal multiple times and am still using the stuff I stocked up on. And also the amazon diaper deal…I did that one around ten times. Can’t beat $10 boxes of diapers!

  14. charla

I don’t have a one favorite; it’s more of an everyday appreciation. I love how easy you make it for us all to get wonderful deals. This allows us all to live better and give more. Thanks to you, my pantry is full, there are many presents under the tree and I can enjoy the season without financial stresses.

  15. christa

The Rite Aid Candy and the Amazon Diaper deals were the best for me. Thanks!!!!

  16. Amy

One of my favorites was the Axe Detailer…calling the 800 number was one of the best laughs!

  17. Erin

So many great deals! Loved the photo deals and am loving the Irish Kerry cheese deal (2 coupons for free a product after survey) $14 worth of free cheese! Will be nice to put out at Christmas. Also love that I’m able to give a lot of the free stuff I’ve gotten to my extended family. Merry Christmas all! 🙂

  18. LoriWoz

I was so excited to get the FREE Gap jeans! After losing 100+ lbs this last year, I had NO clothes! These jeans fit the bill!!!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

that is amazing! you are an inspiration. I need to lose 85 pounds…and my goal is to get half way there by June so that when my son graduates high school, he can be as proud of his mom as I am of him. Any tips?

      • Leslie

I suggest trying Zumba. I am an instructor and can honestly say it is the most fun you will have losing weight and staying in shape. I gained almost 70 pounds with my first pregnancy, and had 40 more to lose after that initial “baby weight” came off. I started going to Zumba, lost it all and had a blast doing it. I continued doing it throughout my second pregnancy and the 30 pounds that I gained fell right off after my baby was born.

        Good luck to you!

        • andrea

          CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
I TOO LOVE ME SOME ZUMBA! I HAVE LOST 29 POUNDS SINCE JUNE DOING ZUMBA!!
I HAVE 30 MORE POUNDS TO LOSE!!:)

      • Wendi Nickel

Stay away from anything white. If it was white before you cook it, stay away from it. Eat an apple about an hour before you eat lunch or dinner. You sill save yourself about 200 calories. If you want a hamburger, eat it, but leave the cheese off. It saves 100 calories and you still get your fix. If I want something bad like a burger or chic-fil-a sandwich, I always eat something healthy with it like a fruit cup or salad. ALWAYS eat breakfast. It really is the most important meal of the day and sets your metabolism in motion for the day. No diet drinks. WATER WATER WATER. Make a diet drink a treat. If I know a certain restaurant serves large portions, I take a friend and split the lunch. Good Luck

  19. nonebetter

Wow do I really have to choose just one? I became a Hispter earlier this year and since then have saved tons–free photo mouse pads, free photo luggage tags, free Picaboo photo books, coupons galore, samples in my mailbox everyday, a free ticket to see Little Fockers just yesterday-Thanks Collin I so appreciate all you do and look forward to all the savings 2010 will bring!

  20. Michelle

The CVS diaper clearance! I stocked up for about $50 in May and didn’t have to buy more until November! It saved me so much money!

I have to mention the Lowe’s Gift-a-Thon and Black Friday Preview parties on facebook with the 90% off codes! In November, I managed to get the tool set ($20 down to $4), the screwdrivers ($20 down to $3), and the bathroom vanity ($250 down to $25!!!!!). Just last weekend I also got the Kitchenaid for $15 and the Dremel for $8. Those are definitely the best deals I got all year long!

    • Bethany

Oh my gosh!!! You did GREAT with the Lowe’s thing! A $15 Kitchenaid is unbelievable!!!!

    • Beth

Wow! I am super impressed by your speedy skills with the Lowe’s Gift-A-Thon!

I was not able to score any of the deals, but the $10 coupons they sent out as a consolation went a long way towards my husband’s Christmas presents.

    • Christy G.

What kind of computer connection do you have? I tried and tried and could never get any of those. Just curious. Maybe I need to switch things up over here. 🙂

  21. Celie

I have been unemployed for about a year now, and not only has your site helped me get personal care items DIRT CHEAP (really loved getting my fave degree deodorant for 34 cents!!) but I got to get one of my best friends a gift from gilt absolutely free. I got almost everyone else’s from swagbucks, which I was also hesitant to sign up for at first, but because of your recommendation I decided to give it a try, and now I’m kicking myself in the butt wishing I signed up sooner!!! So thank you very much Collin!!! I wish you and your family a VERY prosperous and happy new year!!!

    • Michelle

Swagbucks is definitely one of my favorite “deals”! I managed to get a lot of Christmas gifts using gift cards for Amazon from earning SB’s. Who knew I was spending so much on Christmas?!? lol

  22. Jennifer

It’s so hard to remember them all! I do recall this summer scoring TONS of free body wash from Rite Aid and CVS through SCRs and ECBs. Most of them were even moneymakers. I turned around and donated all of it to the women’s shelter.

  23. Sarah

My favorite deal was stocking up on diapers on Rite Aid. I live in Buffalo and we were one of the test cites for the Wellness Program and UP rewards. We didn’t even understand what these up rewards were but we would buy 3 packs of diapers and use VV coupons and MF coupons and get a $10 UP reward. This was also when you could use VV coupons over and over…..anyways, when rolling this deal, you would end up paying 1.50 for 2 packs of Huggies diapers! It was crazy! At that time I was about to have 3 kids in diapers so I became a mad women with this deal….a lot has changed since then and will probably never seen a deal like that again but it was pretty awesome! I still have those diapers!

    • stayc0777

lol. I live in Jamestown, NY, also a test area, and I completely agree. I don’t know how or why they never ran out of Huggies but EVERYDAY I went and they had more, and so I got more. If I EVER buy another package of diapers my husband will surely leave me (we still have a closet filled floor to ceiling with diapers).

      • Sarah

I know….I was nervous to write that I got so many diapers because I was afraid of getting yelled at for clearning shelves…..I never cleared on shelf! It was the endless supply of diapers! I felt like a crazy person with how many I got but I felt like I would be stupid to not take the time to do it…..we saved a ridiculous amount of money doing it! A lot of fun!

    • hoovla78

I too live in buffalo! When we were in the test market for the Rite Aid Wellness program I scored some AMAINZG deals! I even got to bring my mom with me on a shopping trip and really show her why I LOVE couponing. She saw me rack up $80 worth of stuff and pay $.54 +tax! She was so amazed she bragged to everyone she came in contact with for weeks! She was the most grateful for me being able to get her FREE covergril ageless make up (the kind Ellen endorses) She had forked over buying some her self and paying the $16 for it a couple days before and realized she got the wrong shade. She was sick over it! When we went they were on sale BOGO and I had a BOGO coup so I got her 2 for FREE to replace! She was sooooo happy!!!

I also had tons of fun loading up on fun stuff with the Medco and Gilt promo’s! I’ve faithfully followed Hip2Save since the beginning and I honestly can not imagine life without it!

  24. Latasha J.

I loved the Medco Health deals.

  25. Jill

My absolute fav deals of the year; $4/1 ANY Knox product bought us our Wii last spring. Paid $1.48 OOP at Walmart for it. LOVE my local Walmart. They are AWESOME with giving overage!! =D Other favs; Amazon diaper deal (I have 3u3), $2/1 Pampers wipes. Lately I’m liking the $3/1 Adams Flea and Tick product for overage as well 🙂

  26. Linda

Hard to pick just one and even remember all of them but some of my favorites were:

    Drugstore deal – Medco
Magazine subscriptions for free or nearly free – LOVE Family Fun!
A sample pack I received with full size Pledge duster, Windex wipes and Pledge wipes. It was a happy day at the mailbox!
All of these things seem so trivial though in comparison to how much the water will be appreciated from all the clicks at changeants (sp?). Thank you Collin and all the clickers.

Like others, I am so grateful for this blog. Thank you for all of the time, research and effort you put into this to help us all save money and find deals.

  27. Julie

It is hard to choose just one! I loved so many great deals. Thank you so much!
#1 fave: getting paid to buy gm cereal at hyvee. (we donated a ton and have enough to last until June and We got about $30 in grocery items that we did not have coupons for. so fun. Hubby got really into it too. 🙂

  28. Stephanie M.

My favorite deal was the Fisher Price King’s Trio Castle, last year at Christmas time. It retailed for $79.99. With price matching, Target and mfg coupons, I scored two of them for $14.99 each. I was so excited! I belong to an organization who sponsors families for the holidays. Our families last year included two little boys who I’m sure were very surprised by this gift. Our budget would have never allowed such a pricey item. But thanks to Collin, we were able to spoil our families.

  29. Candice

I started using your website last January and at the same time I found out I would be laid off at the end of this year. I immediately starting planning for holidays, birthdays, christmas, etc. Today I just purchased 5 u-build games for free, two weeks ago I got 5 hungry hungry hippos for free.. not only have a learned to save on toys, but also on personal products and groceries. Your website has prepared me for my lay off I am in a much better situation financially and emotionally because of you. The best deal was finding your website. Thanks Collin you are a true blessing!

  30. April Mae IndyMom

I think some of my favorite deals this year have been all the $10 coupons for JCPenny and Kohls. I live close to a Kohls that has been remodeled and so twice I’ve gotten coupons in the mail for $10 off any thing (even clearence) and then I also got the same coupon sent to me via email (both emails I have)….. So, I’ve gotten LOTS of free stuff at Kohls this year. Recently I hit the earlybird specials and got 3 $15-20 toys for free after discounts and coupons I’ve also gotten jeans for my hubby for only $3. I also got a pair of Arizona Skinny jeans for my neice (reg. 24.99) on sale for $11.99 and after coupon… $1.99 from JCP! I plan on wrapping all these amazing FREE gifts with wrapping paper and bows from Halmark using my coupon for there too.
My other fave was all the freebies on Facebook… got free neti pot, Green Mountain coffee and a whole shaving kit from Schick hydro 5 (which is going to my brother for xmas 😉 Kohls, JCP, Hallmark, Facebook and Swagbucks funded my xmas

  31. Christie

So many! I love the ones where we get free stuff! The Medco and just recently the RueLaLa deal for Beauty.com were awesome. I was thrilled with the Hallmark coupons. With your help, I got everyone’s (entire family; aunts, uncles, cousins, kids) Christmas gifts for under $125 total! I normally would have spent $400 on just the extended family!

  32. April Mae IndyMom

I would have to say that my most FAVE HIP DEAL EVER happened, I think, last Dec or Jan…. it was the Seventh Generation Amazon coupon code! I couldn’t sleep at night during that one! Sure the diaper coupon code this year excited me and I lacked some sleep but that Seventh Generation one was just too good to be true and I’m still using my stockpile.

  33. Chrissie

With the arrival of my first baby this year, my favorite deals of 2010 are most definately all the diaper and wipes deals (amazon, target, rite aid, cvs) and all the photo deals. I got amazing items (photo books, prints, photo cards) for little or no money! And the free flowers I won from FTD this week were a welcome gift for myself as a reward for such an amazing year! Thank you, Collin! Being a stay-at-home mom can be really hard on the checkbook, but your deals make it easier! My husband and I are so thankful!

  34. Teri

The Tiny prints Thanksgiving cards, Medco, and the Company store deals were the bomb! Thanks Collins for all the great goodies!

  35. sam

my fav deal is gilt 20 credits, thank you collin

  36. amber g

Seriously you could never pick one! The diaper and wipe deals have been great for me with one baby still in diapers! I just started couponing at the beginning of this year and spend way less and get way more than ever before. My husband is tired of me saying guess how much this was……..free! This is my favorite site and I love trying to recommend this site and couponing to others, I cant understand why everyone is not as addicted as me!

  37. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Gosh, my entire apartment is full of things I found out about on your website!!! The Airwick airfreshners, HALLMARK deals, MEDCO (lifesaver), OHH the razor deals 🙂 All the freeeebiesss!!! I especially loved those. Also the 10 off 25 from JcPenny and the Sears coupons you post up. Makes it easier to go and print coupons and this way its a one stop trip…so thanks again for everything! I am sure there are many other great deals you have given me…but those definately stand out.

  38. Jennifer C

Collin, I am SO grateful for all of your hard work! Like everyone else, it’s hard to pinpoint my favorite deal. A couple things that stand out is the 10-piece Wolfgang Puck peeler set from QVC that I paid $5.60 for and the free MP3 player from Napster and most recently the free flowers from FTD!! The list really is endless and I thank you so much!!! Merry Christmas to you and your beautiful family!

Oh yeah, all of the credits for Gilt Groupe and Groupon, too!!

  39. Kacy

There have been SOOOOOOO many great deals! Here are two of my favorites: the amazon diaper deal (176 pampers for $2.44!!!!!) and the gaggle of chicks/box creations deal (a cardboard pirate ship for $5 shipped!!!). I so appreciate this site – keep up the great work!

  40. DP

Free stuffed animal @ Gilt and Stuffed animal.com, free cutting board from One Kings Lane, Free PJs, pictureka, found out about Pinecone research, Free Hallmark merchandise $16 box of diapers from Amazon, awseome Kohls deals, the helicopter, the $2.50 cake pan, but most of all for YOU, COLLIN!! Thank you!

  41. Jana

I loved the MEDCO deal!! and, the amazon diaper/wipes deals! hmm..maybe the J.C. Penny’s deals from a couple of weeks ago! hmmm…I think MEDCO was my favorite!

  42. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I have to think about what my favorite is. I did enjoy collecting toys all year to donate to our homeless shelter over 40 toys in all. I also collected over 100 mens body washes, shaving cremes, soaps, and deoderents to donate to the shelter. Men are often a forgotten populaton at Xmas time. My kids and I just donated these items today and the volunteers at the shelter were so happy!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I wanted to say thank you to Collin and I wish her and her family the best of Xmas. To all readers, Merry Xmas!

  43. ICEMOMMY

Medco was the best. At the time I was 7 months pregnant and also had a 1 yr old and stocked up on lots of diapers, j&j, Aveeno, wipes, toothbrushes, body washes, toothpaste and spent $42.87 on $400 worth of stuff. Also the $20 off $20 from HSN.com was great too. Scored Carol’s Daughter Hair Milk for FREE!

  44. juju77m

I can’t pick just one thing, I love getting pretty much anything but bills in the mail. I was lucky enough to have won items from giveaways on this as well as another site that Collin introduced me to. My favorite thing is when I tell my husband all the deals he just hears blah blah blah and doesn’t care UNTIL I get something that he wants or needs and then I am wonderful, lol.

  45. Sangeetha

I really can’t think of one! Every deal you post is awesome! Thank you for all you do, Collin. Merry Christmas!

  46. Emma

I agree with everyone that there have been so many deals that have helped my family. I can say we have paid down our credit card a bunch this year by my frugal shopping and your help. It’s nice to be able to pull out things from the back of the closet to give to others rather than have to worry do we have room on the credit card or any extra money somewhere to be generous.

My best deal was the Sorry games that I got with a price match and coupons for less than $5. The bonus for me was that each game had a free Dominos pizza coupon (they are good until next June) and we got to donate them to our church angel tree. Everytime I pick up one of these deals that I know will be going to the stockpile for others I get the opportunity to teach my toddler that because God has blessed us we can bless others and Collin you have been a blessing. Merry Christmas to you and your family!!!!

  47. misstracy

The best Deal of the year is have to be. the rite aid candy deal, $ 20.00 Gilt, I won the Shape -ups from Dr. OZ. I have been unemployed for about a year now, By going on your website i got so many freebies that i can make baskets for my family and Friends. Thank you very much Collin. You are a wonderful person.

  48. Tiphanie

My favorites were the olay deals with rebates. Also the johnsons baby bath soaps for free. We are just now running out of soap, wish there was another deal it sure saved us a bunch. I got the $20 gilt offer too. Free books for my girls. Thanks for lots of savings in 2010 Collin!

  49. Sarah

My fave deals I found here are the Medco deal and the One Kings Lane credit! I missed out on the Core Bamboo Kitchenware when the deal 1st came out but they featured Core again a couple weeks ago and I was able to get the cutting boards I really wanted totally FREE!

  50. Su

All your CVS deals have been SOO much fun. You have helped me score BIG with diapers…I don’t have my numbers yet, but I will share with you soon!!! THANK YOU!!
