As 2010 is coming to an end, I thought it would be fun to look back at the last 12 months and share my favorite deals and have you share your favorite deal(s) that you were able to score! Although there have been some deals that did not work out quite as well as we all had planned, there were many deals that turned out even better than we expected!

Here are some of my personal favorite “Hip” deals from 2010…

Amazon Diaper Deals (I know a lot of you snagged diapers and wipes at some amazing prices!)
EO Bubble Bath 3 pack for 96¢ shipped (regularly $40!)
FREE $20 Gilt credit which made for some FREE items!
Pro-Force Cleaning Kit sample from Sam’s Club…turned out to be quite the “sample”!
Rite Aid Halloween Candy Craziness (can you say stomach-ache?!)
High value $2/1 Pampers Wipes Coupon

Check out these emails (and pictures below) from readers, Rachel and Steph. Rachel shares how she has used some of her favorite deals…

My pre-school son has 11 teachers (he moved to the “big” school late fall so there are twice as many this year) that I want to thank. Because of your site, all year long I was able to “hoard” full-size hair products, $10 razors, name-brand lotions, you name it!! I bought cute reusable baskets on super-clearance last January. There is more than $350 worth of EVERYDAY products – not fru-fru stuff they can’t use. With the Olay rebates and ECBs I ended up not “spending” a dime – but what really makes me happy is that I was able to create something for all his teachers all year, and I am not looking at a massive credit card bill in January! I am not comfortable just giving cash. The money you help me save lets me do “fun” stuff….like run the Marine Corps Marathon last October!

Steph shares one of her favorite deals from 2010…

I just want to share a success story from one of the great deals you posted a few months back. Do you remember the post for the Tanger Outlet Facebook promo…like them and you get a $50 voucher for $25. Well the voucher email had to be redeemed in 10 days after receipt and I couldn’t make the hour drive within the time frame to pick it up. So, on my scheduled shopping trip with the fam, I emailed my local Tanger Outlet manager to see if he would still honor the deal. He was unable to do so, BUT he gave me a great alternative gift: A free coupon book (which came in handy for savings at several stores) and a FREE $50 gift card to the Ultra Diamond store. I thought for sure I couldn’t find anything for $50, but I DID! I got a beautiful black pearl drop necklace (pictured above)…for FREE! I didn’t even have to pay the $25 for the original voucher offer. How great is that!

So…now it’s your turn! What was your favorite deal(s) of 2010? Be sure to let us know in the comment section below. And here’s to lots of great and amazing deals in 2011! 🙂

Collin, not only are you a blessing to me, but a blessing to all the people in my circle who I send your deals to as well! I “pay it forward” and know that others get to feel the thrill of paying little money out of pocket for items. Merry Christmas to you and have a wonderful 2011! 🙂

  2. Heather

You have posted so many great deals, I could not possibly choose just one.. This his been my first whole year of couponing/deal hunting/bargain shopping and I could not have done it without you Collin! Being a single income household, we have to cut corners and you have made it so much easier for me and my family. Thanks for all the hard work you did in 2010 and can’t wait to see what 2011 brings! Merry Christmas!

  3. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Gosh – there are way too many to list but few that I can think of right now since it’s recent: the free roses I got from ftd.com, free skechers shoes I won with Dr Oz/Oprah promotion, P&G Pink Cookware Rebate (just received them earlier this week!!), free ornament from Gilt, free socks (several), etc.

  4. LeslieK

Thank you Collin for everything you do! It is hard to name just one deal that I loved, but I definitely love the diaper deals. You have made a true believer out of me with couponing and have made it soooo easy. I have told so many people how wonderful you and your website are. Thank you so much and Happy Holidays!

  5. sarah

The gift of Amazon Mom has been my favorite deal! Being able to have most of my Christmas presents delivered to my doorstep within 2 days AND for FREE has been SO wonderful! I just hope they do this next Christmas because I’m hooked (and spoiled)! Thank you for all of the many, many other deals you have provided me with this year, too! Merry Christmas! May God bless you and your family with precious memories!

    • caryn delk

actually, this makes me want to change my answer. I think Amazon Mom has truly been the best deal!

    • jennifer

Yes! I don’t dare check, but I know I’ve had 20-30 items delivered this month, all from Amazon and I would not have purchased those items if it weren’t for the Amazon mom free 2 day shipping. Thanks so much!!

    • D.

I agree! This free shipping from amazon has been great!

  6. Ann

Swagbucks and Viewpoints are the best. I purchased a lot of our Christmas with the Amazon gift cards I earned from each of these. Viewpoints also sent my husband a $200 Norelco electric razor too try out. All we had to do was give an honest opinion of the razor and it’s his to keep. I have also hoarded free or inexpensive personal care items that I was able to donate. My family sometimes makes fun of my deals, but they always seem to enjoy them!

  7. Meirav

Hi collin, you’ve posted SO MANY great deals that I really can’t thank you enough! I really loved the Amazon mom deal, cause it makes it so much easier to enjoy all the great amazon deales without the hassle of getting to 25$ of qualifying items, so it made it easier for me to purchase a bunch of stuff there that I already got 3 more month for free 🙂
Thank you Thank you Thank you !!!
Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year

  8. Tiff

I think my favorite deal was being introduced to Ebates. I don’t know how I missed this, but it is the EASIEST was to earn free money back.
I also jumped on the $20 GILT promo and got a wonderful fancy mustard and spice rub set for a Christmas gift for $1.
Collin, I can’t imagine how much time you devote to this each day. All I can say is thank you – you help us all so much!

  9. Vanessa

I think i found so many favorite deals, that it’s just too much to mention. Thanks for putting them all together.

  10. Nicole

I’ve looked forward to checking your site every day since I found Hip2Save thanx so much for all the great deals and updates!

  11. laura

I agree with everyone else that it’s difficult to choose just 1 deal, but a couple I’ve enjoyed (no diaper deals since my daughter is WAY too old for that):
*Leapfrog Tag Readers on clearance at Target for $12.48. Used a $10 off Manf. coupon AND a $5 off Target coupon. I got 3 for $4 TOTAL!!! My husband actually went to the store to get these and was totally floored!! The best part was I sold them on ebay and made almost $100.
    * Gilette Fusion Razors on clearance at Target for $2.48. Used Manf. coupon for $4 off each. I bought 20 and got $30+ in overage (before Target changed their registers to not allow overage 🙁 )
    * Tons of freebies or close to freebies at CVS and Walgreens. We don’t need toiletries for a loooooooong time.

    • Janice

Same here on the tags!! I bought 3 and sold on ebay too!! That was a GREAT deal!!!
Thank you Collin for all that you do!!! Merry Christmas to you and your family!!

    • cloudend

      Hi Laura,
Happy Holidays. Maybe you could have left some Tag Readers for the other deal seekers. But that just my humble opinion.

      • Blair

She only took 3. I would not consider that excessive.

    • Tiphanie

      I say you go girl!

      • Jay

Nothing like exploiting the ignorant…I thought couponing was about saving money, not making it.

        • katie

maybe she needed the money. I did the same to buy groceries for my family because my husband got laid off. Sorry if you think that is ignorant.

          • Jay

Ignorance was in reference to making money off of eBay, not those saving money. While I fully get that many people are in dire need of money, what gives couponers a bad name is when they cheat the system like this (evreryone does it, but not all of them use coupons). If you need three gaming systems for family or for those who cannot afford them, awesome (pat yourself on the back)! However, if you need them to pay for your groceries/bills/mortgage, then perhaps your energies are being misappropriated. I love getting a deal as much as the next guy/gal, and I especially love getting totals close to zero oop after coupons. Purchasing goods for the sole purpose of reselling is a little much, coupons or no coupons.

            • cloudend

              I agree with you Jay.
Its not very pleasant to go to the store with the coupons and see the shelves already cleaned up by a single person with a cart full of puzzles/games just to get the UP rewards. But that’s the way it is.

@Blair: The Targets don’t keep a lot of Tags on the shelves.

  12. Amber

Wow there were so many I loved! The CVS deal with the Huggies Refill packs for $2.50. The $20 gilt deal was great also! 🙂

  13. Dianne

Sooooooooo many, Collin! You are amazing. The very first thing that came to mind though was scoring my husband free Dockers during the last Super Bowl. I also loved the Victoria’s Secret deals and the recent JC Penney’s deals. The Walgreen’s Hallmark deal was pretty sweet while it lasted. I loved the Rite Aid huge moneymaker on the Bayer blood glucose monitor. I love scoring free shopping at CVS with the CVS Advisory Panel surveys. With your help, I get so many freebies in the stores and in my mailbox (two in my mailbox today), but my favorites, of course, are the moneymakers!

I would like to wish you, your husband, your adorable kiddos, your sisters, your mother, and your fantastic grandmother all a very merry Christmas and a wonderful 2011 (filled with bargains, of course). Personally, it is my 2011 wish to finally win something in one of your great giveaways! Keep up the good work, and thanks again.

    • Kristie

Totally forgot about those free pants (well, since the last time I folded them, anyway). That was great!!!!

  14. Mary

I loved the CVS diaper wipes when the larger refill was ringing up for $2.50—I really stocked up and still have some left, even with a 2 year old and a 6 week old baby!
I also liked the Medco deals, Victoria Secret with the sweater/scarf and lipgloss. I love getting toothpaste, deodorant, toothbrushes, etc. for free (or close to it!). The recent Amazon toy deals have been great as well. Thanks so much!

  15. sallie0710

My favorite was being the first to sign up for the Christmas challenge and winning the Keurig Coffee Maker! I’ve also LOVED Amazon Mom and all the freebies! 🙂 Merry Christmas to you and many blessings for good health in the new year! Looking forward to keeping track of all the money I’ve saved starting in January!!!!!

  16. Samantha Booker

Tried posting earlier and the comment didn’t show up, so forgive me if this is a repeat!

I am a faithful hip2save fan and have actually started my own workshops to teach others how to save.

A few highlights for me from 2010:

P&G Pink cookware ( did the deal twice and gave a set to my mom)

Amazon toy deals for my 2 yr old – I don’t spend much on new toys, so it was nice to be able to give her nice toys for just a few dollars and free shipping!

Mall deals– who knew you could save SO much at Victoria’s Secret, B&BW and Children’s Place? Not to mention Godiva chocolate!

    Cash back websites

Rite Aid’s Wellness + program and Video Values – I have used the SCR program for years, but love saving even more. It is rare that I do not come out ahead when I shop Rite Aid.

Free Halloween candy and Black Friday candy bars. Passed most of it along to my mom to throw at our local Christmas parade, but kept several back for gifts as well.

I used Swagbucks last year, but it is still great to earn a $5 Amazon card every month or so.

Plastic Jungle — Yet another way to save more money where I already shop!

    FREEBIES and coupons!

    Disney Blu-Ray/DVD combo pack rebates

So many more. Thanks for everything, Collin. You are awesome!!!

  17. Lynne Wright

So many deals I am thankful for and I really have tried to pay it forward this year by donating heavily to local charities. For myself, the Restaurant.Com $25 gift certificate a month for a year for only $24! In addition, I also won a certificate from Collin and got a bonus $25 certificate from Restaurants for ordering! So far we have used two $25 certificates for two really nice meals – everytime we went it was like 50% coupon for the meal! – so it has already more than paid for itself! I also loved the .25 a bag M and M’s Pretzel Pieces. I thought perhaps I went overboard w the candy deals but I used them to make 17 gifts for my husbands coworkers! Thanks Collin! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

  18. Lynda

I love all of the deals! Guilt Group was my FAVORITE! Scoring GREEN TOYS for free! Everytime we would go to Barnes and Noble my son would go right to that section I took one look at the price and thought even with my discount there was no way I would pay that for a toy! Along comes the $20 at Gilt and oh yes Santa will be the man after leaving one under the tree this year! Thank you for all that you do for us!

  19. J

Isn’t that a bit like asking you which is your favorite child??!!

  20. Jenn B.

My favorite hip deal of the year was getting the oral-b vitality toothbrush for free!!! I also was able to make cute gift baskets for my family members. Unfortunately, the baskets cost more than the products in them!! That is only made possible through your website!! Thanks Collin!!!

  21. Mary

I can’t think of a favorite deal, but I do want to say Thank You and to wish you and your lovely family a very MERRY CHRISTMAS!

  22. Chelsey

My favorite was the free glasses from Coastal Contacts. My husband needed glasses, but there was no way we could shell out the $200-400 it usually costs to replace his. We ended up paying $12 for a brand new pair of glasses, and he loves them!! Thank you!

  23. Patti

Shop at Home…………………….get $’s for what I was going to buy anyway!! How crazy is that!

Thank you Colin for all of your hard work. Merry Christmas to you and yours!

  24. Amy

The Gilt freebie was great and I loved the discount I got on Fisher Price toys. I am constantly amazed that anyone would shop any other way 🙂

  25. Lorna

Mine was the Tillamook Cheese coupon you posted on Nov 24, 2010. Only a couple of weeks later, one of our Arizona independent chains had them on sale for $1.29, so I was able to get them for only 29 cents. needless to say, our fridge is well stocked with cheese right now. Thanks so much, Collin, for this and all the other deals that have saved me so much money. We adopted a family this Christmas, and have been able to provide a decent holiday for them, with both food, non edible groceries and gifts.

  26. ppprncs

Collin I would like to echo the sentiments of the other people who use your site daily: THANK YOU!!!! I have scored so many deals that it is hard to believe and remember them all. I think my favorite deal is the recent Coinstar cash in $40 for a gift certificate get a $10 gift certificate free. I used this for amazon.com and was able to get over $140 worth of toys for my children shipped to my house for $53 (really only paid $43 because of the “free” $10 from Coinstar).

  27. karen e

Too many to mention all of them, but I loved the Dr. Oz giveaway (I got a $50 gift card to Target and so did my husband) and the recent FTD deal. . . my flowers should be delivered today!!! Thanks Collin!

  28. Anh

Gilt, One Kings Lane, Rue La La, and all the other free credit for joining shopping sites. I usually shop for everyone else first and put myself last, but because of all the free credit, I was able to get myself a little something for next to nothing. Thank you so much for all the amazing work you do. Thank you for all the support and help from fellow Hip2Savers. IHeartHip2Save!

  29. Julie

I don’t have any children yet, so the diaper deals don’t apply to me, but you saved me A TON of money with all the Black Friday deals that you posted!! I got clothes for my niece and nephew (ages 2 and a half, and will-be-here-any-day) from Children’s Place and each piece of clothing that I ordered was $5 or less, plus I scored free shipping thanks to your promo codes! I still think the deal that I was most excited about was getting my sister the Twilight: Eclipse 2-disc DVD from Amazon for only $9.99! Thanks for all of your hard work, Collin, and Merry Christmas!!

  30. fran

I love all the freebies I get in the mail and all the free items I was able to get from stores with the help of your posts.
I think my favorite deal was the Klondike potato B1G1 coupon you posted. As a result of me going to the link you provided, I entered a contest for a trip to Maui, and as you know, I won! This was the best deal ever. I have won many other contests due to the fact that you posted these contests.
Thank you Collin, from hubby and me, for all your great posts!!!!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

  31. Danielle

I have been thrilled with so many, but the Gilt purchases were fun & useful. The range of deals for gifts have been great for the teacher to the eclectic family members. Thank you for your time & energy spent on finding quality deals & the helpful scenarios posted. It has made our family turn into “couponing junkies” & created a challenge to see who can save the most each week at the grocery store, drug store, etc.

  32. graewolf

I only started following the site since September, but I still have saved thousands with the posted deals and coupon matchups. Collin, you truly are a godsend, I have told so many friends about your site, that my friends have started calling me the savings guru. I tell them all the time that I am just a follower and that you deserve all the credit.

My favorite deal had to be the puzzles/figures last week at Rite Aid. Pay .75 and get back a $2 up reward. I went to every Rite Aid in the area (on Saturday, since I saw the deal on Thursday and I feel less guilty about cleaning the shelves on the last day of the sale) got about 100 of them total, all for the local Salvation Army Kids Christmas Party where I volunteered. Lots of happy kids with extra stocking stuffers, plus $120 in overage to by my wife a digital camera!

  33. Kaity

    My favorites:
Free subscription to OK! magazine was AWESOME.
    Medco Health Store- free self-tanner!
    Olay Rebates!!! Free eye roller!!
$1 off produce for Target- got so much fruit for free!
    Free fat boy coupons!
so many more…. i love you collin! Thanks for helping a college girl save money and afford all the beauty must-haves and food 🙂

  34. Susan

One of my very first hip deals I did was to use the $10 off $10 purchase promotion code at Torrid. I was able to get my sister a gorgeous filigree heart pendant necklace for $2.18 for her birthday. Oh, and in the same month you posted a simialr deal for catherine’s, so I got her 4 tops for $6 and the gorgeous necklace for her brithday, all for a total of $8.18!

  35. susanna

I love all the free samples and the kidorable umbrellas, and I won the house party thanks to you telling me to join.

  36. Niki

my favorite was Jcpenny 10 off 10 shoes with free shipping. I got a nice shoe for my dad.

    • HeHeHe

      Just one shoe?

  37. Vivi

    All the Disney blu-ray/dvd deals!

  38. Susan

Like everyone else, there are so many things I love about Hip2Save:
Coupons for everyday things like toothpaste (the savings of $1 here and there add up fast)
Discount deals for places I love to shop (especially Borders with their 50% or 40% coupons)
And specials at stores where I can treat myself (like Coldwater Creek the other day!)

Thanks, Collin, for everything you do — thanks, thanks, thanks, thanks, thanks!!!

  39. Laura H.

    My two favorite deals:
    1. Gilt $20 credit and free shipping: I was able to buy me some really cute embroidered winter gloves, my new niece cute and organic baby rattles, and my other niece a knitted sock puppet (so cute!). And I only paid a dollar for all this!
    2. Tanger Outlet $25 for $50 gift card: With this I was able to get some more specific Christmas presents complete. Not only did I get two people exactly what they wanted, I paid half price for those gifts because of the gift card!

  40. Rajya

I recently got to know about your site and was hooked on to it, its difficult to name a particular deal, all the deals you post are great. My favorite is the free oral b toothbrushes from CVS. I wish my gift this Christmas to be a winner in one of your giveaways, hope you are my santa 🙂

  41. Nikki

I loved the amazon diaper deal and the pampers wipes coupon. I got so many wipes not only is my son set my nieces and nephews are set and I donated the rest of them!

  42. Wendy Powell

I would have to say the $20 Gilt credit with free shipping. I was able to snag 2 free books for my babies for Christmas! Of course, there were many more wonderful deals you posted this year but that was my favorite! Thanks for a great year of savings!

  43. Brandy

I just started following you recently, but I was able to get in on the gaggle of chicks deal for the cardboard houses – just $5 and it arrived in the mail today!! Thank you Collin for everything you do, I saved a ton of money on gifts this year just by following your site!

    • Rachel

Regarding the Gaggle of Chicks box…aftr emailing BoxCreations did you get a shipping confirmation prior to receiving your cardboard house?? I sent in my email with all my info and code #, but still haven’t heard anything back from them about mine being ready to ship.

  44. Gayla

My favorite deal thus far was the recent FoodSaver for a total of $24 shipped. It had been $79! The croc numerous deals come in second.

  45. Joe

You sent an email that had a deal on lotion warmers and my wife loves them and thinks I’m wonderful. Thanks

  46. AmyH

Oh, another one that rocked was the Safeway deal recently!!

  47. Takako

One of my favorite deal was when I signed up Self magazine email news in summer, I received Champion sport t-shirt for FREE (RSP is about $30 each). I ended receive 2 of them in different color. That was nice.
The other one was Harley Davidson Motorcycle poster giveaway for FREE. I choose very beautiful red one. I gave the poster to a boy at church and was seems happy to get it. Even his dad as if wanted it!
Thank you Collin and thank you for all of hip2save readers out there for sharing such an amazing journey with me in this year. I’m very lucky to be a part of this and having lots of awesome people around. So thanks, everyone! 🙂

  48. Allyson M

I loooooved all of the Amazon.com deals. You have NO idea how much you posting those helped us this year for Christmas for our kids and the rest or our family. My husband was laid off for a couple of months and we were way behind on everything! We had a VERY strict budget for everyone in our family. So thank you for posting those for us! <3 Merry Christmas!!!

  49. Dianne

Hmmmm, I got soooo many good deals at RiteAid, watched lots of videos for extra savings, received some pretty nice Single Check Rebates, and now I am at gold status for 2011. So the savings just keep going! Thanks for all your work. You have saved our family lots!!!
Merry Christmas to you and your family, Collin.

  50. Sara

I started couponing back in February/March and that’s when I found your awesome website!

All the little deals added up and I had the pleasure of being able to donate a box full of shampoo, razors, band-aids, toothpaste, floss, laundry supplies, and a bunch of other stuff to a woman’s shelter. That was fun!

My personal favorite deal of the year was getting a conair fabric steamer free from viewpoints. That thing has been amazing, makes getting the wrinkles out a snap. My viewpoints gift cards along with swagbucks gift cards also got us a new digital camera. Thanks for introducing me to those sites!
