Love your site (like many many others do) ..I saw the Vera Bradley deal on another site this morning and was wondering why you hadn’t post it…now I know ..LOL Myself I even thought about it before I saw your video that it wasn’t the stuff for me…and the comments on the other site weren’t so great either…

  2. amber

Vera Bradley reminds me of something an old lady would use…I don’t get it either….another reason I love you Collin;)

    • Shana

I agree! I LOVE purses, but I’ve always thought Vera Bradley’s look like old lady bags and don’t understand the obsession with them at all.

  3. M

HAHAH got 4 bags of HERSEY MINI REECES! THOSE THINGS ARE DANGEROUS.. already ate 2 bags! I think i need wrappers to slow me down 😉

  4. Lisa

Great video! The chocolate candy deals are ones I ALWAYS pass up. I will otherwise sit and eat the entire bag by myself and then get sick. You’d think all these years of eating my entire Easter basket in one sitting would have taught me a lesson. 🙂

  5. Brooke

I love, love, love hip2save..I’m new to couponing and you have saved me tons of money… thanks, Collin.

  6. Sheri Sprouse

I with you on the Vera bag’s. Just don’t get the quilting and materials. Now on the other hand give me a B. Makowsky any day of the week!

  7. sara

love it !! you totally ROCK !!!!!

what time will u be calling in for the guest appearence:)

  8. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Love the video Collin. I laughed when you mentioned the Vera Bradley bags. I really don’t why they are so popular. But Hip? NO, No way.

  9. Jean

I just discovered your website a few months ago. I love it. Your video is awesome. I will be joining you every Monday morning for Coffee with Collin. Thanks for all you do. PS I agree with you on the Vera Bradley thing. I don’t get it either. People spend a lot of money for a not so cute purse.

  10. April

    Roses are red
    and violets are blue
I hope you know we love all that you do!
    Thanks Collin
    Have a great Valentine’s Day 🙂

  11. Stephanie

Great job Collin, totally agree with the V.B. statement. They are old lady-ish. Look forward to these videos, great idea!

  12. Cindy Drago

I just love Coffee with Collin 🙂 One topic for a future CwC I would like to see is how we can build our own deals at our own supermarkets. As a beginner, I am pretty much following your lists to the letter. I go through your lists and pick out stuff I like and go buy it. I would LOVE to have the courage to tackle my local supermarkets (Price Chopper and Hannaford) but aside from tracking everything from the flyer and keeping some sort of log of all the coupons, I wouldn’t know where to begin. I would love some shortcuts. I’m going to be looking forward to Mondays for a change 🙂 btw, I share your “confusion” with Vera Bradley Handbags.

    • kathy

I agree. Please write some supermarket posts Collin. Thank you.

    • Shannon

Her videos are fantastic! That’s how I learned what to so! She has videos for grocery stores and pharmacies – check them out!

    • Jaimie

As a fellow shopper at Price Chopper and Hannaford, I too am stuggling with the whole grocery shopping. I get the pharmacies and do quite a bit of shopping there, but how do you build a 3-meal a day, eggs, juice, milk, (the basics), etc… on a tight budget?

    • Lisa

Here’s a tip: Use the database at the top of the page to search for coupons for items that are on sale at your supermarket. I create my own lists for my local grocery store that way.

    • Cindy Drago

*facepalm* I never even noticed the coupon database! I just searched some stuff and it is so easy to use. This site gets better and better 😀 Thanks for the suggestions!

  13. rae

i love love your website i love the video is good idea i have a question along with other things you do how do you keep your self fit do you even have time to workout i have 18 months old baby girl and i am stay home mom but still its taking me this long to lose the weight but and stays off if i keep working out and who has time to do that so any suggestions, again thanks for all the deals you post love it

  14. Agnes

Oh Collin, you’ve made my day with that video, I love watching all your vidoes more more please) I really miss your shopping videos, sitting here with a bad cold and cough, drinking coffee and the first thing I do is click on your site – laundry can wait!
THANK YOU so much for everything you do! Im addicted to coupons and your site. Can’t live without it. BIG Thank you to your mom and sister!

  15. kara

    That was fun!

  16. Ashley

Collin, I love, love, love, coffee with Coliin…. You rock..Also, I love your couch what name brand is it……

    • Collin

I think it is Ashley… but I’m not sure since I bought it used.

  17. Salina

I had a question about organizing coupons. Where do you get the plastic paper protecter pages for your 3 ring binder? I’ve seen the ones for business card size or baseball card size, but those would be too small for coupons.

    • Olivia Smith

I use the baseball card holders- and fold the coupons….making sure that the important parts are showing like the product name, amount off and the expiration date. It is difficult but it works!

    • Julieanne28

I actually use baseball cards for small coupons and 4×6 photo album inserts for larger coupons or coupons I have a lot of. I bought a clearance photo album at walmart that had 100 sheets in it, it holds 3 “photos” on each side and they insert sideways. The album was still $9 but my sister and I split the cost and the sheets 😉

  18. El

Collin~ You are SO freaking hilarious! I love this coffee segment you’ll be doing! I waited to watch the vid so I could put my daughter down for her nap & have my boy playing in his room. Then grabbed my cup o’ joe and settled in for some “me” time with Collin, lol. You are so honest and down-to-earth, especially about the VB bags, haha. I just KNEW that’s what you were referring to before you even said it 🙂

  19. Shannon

    I agree – you’re being a little rude.

  20. Sia Hills

Love this! Wish I had Mondays off so I could apply – but still looking forward to watching the videos. What a great feature!

  21. Amber

Omg the Vera Bradley part cracked me up! As soon as you said ‘not hip’ Vera was literally the FIRST thing that I thought of!! 75% of the bags remind me of old women but some of it’s cute…I have a lime green diaper bag that I love!
    Thanks for the video!

  22. Kimber

    Collin, I freaking love you!

  23. Mimi

I love your site!! Thank you for the incredible deals. One of my favorites was the yankee candles through Bed Bath and Beyond, so happy they honored the price. I always wonder how you find
these low prices like his one and others on Amazon.com.

  24. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Yes! I do NOT like Vera Bradley bags either. I joke with some friends who have them…I call them bags “Quilt Bags”. They look like you rolled up a quilt, an ugly one, and used it as a purse. Not Hip. Thirty-One Bags though…VERY HIP!!!!!!!!!

  25. Amy

I agree with you on the Vera Bradley thing! They are so popular in my area (Northern Indiana) that a couple hospitals give out VB diaper bags to new moms. You would NOT believe how many people actually drive the hour each way for all of their OB appts. and deliver there JUST for the BAG! It’s totally not worth it to me…I mean just thinking about how much gas money you could save alone by delivering in your own hospital would pay for the bag itself. 🙂

  26. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I LOVE HIP2SAVE!! But I will not be watching anymore videos! Too cheesy for me!!

    • JennyB

Cheesy? I laughed the whole time!

    • Janessa

I loved the video!!! Sorry you didn’t feel the same way!

  27. Melanie

Too Funny about the Vera bags!! First time I saw them I thought they were made out of place mats!! I made one like it in the seventh grade. Guess I was ahead of my time!!

  28. Karen

WOW!! Love the coffee with Collen! I always thought the Vera Bradly bags look homemade, like something i had to use as a kid lol Thank you for all you do to help me save money!!

  29. Lilly

Hey Collin, great video! I love the fact that you kindly let everyone know that you are not perfect and you make mistakes too just like everyone else. The only thing I disliked about the video is the fact that you have your MAC on the couch the way you do. You’re going to damage your laptop that way and that is also a fire hazard (I don’t care too much about the fire hazard fact lol). You should really consider investing in a laptop tray for your couch. Trust me it’ll definitely be worth it in the end =)

  30. JennyB

I love that you are so down to earth Collin! It is very refreshing to see you in jammies admitting you wolfed down candy and joking about those VB purses, they aren’t very attractive. Looks like something from an old ladies garage sale!! hahaha I think you made a very good point about the candy, even though it is a good deal are you really making a good purchase?! I have honestly cut way back on processed foods which = less couponing. However, I feel like I am still getting great deals, I make healthier choices when I am not stocked with junk food, and I have learned to be frugal in more ways then one! It is true that sometimes less is more! Happy Valentine’s Day!!! ♥ Hope you get something special from your hubby and kiddos!

  31. Lauren

I have never like Vera Bradley either. LOL!

  32. jamie

Collin, I love your site like so many other people here. I love to go home and brag about all the good deals I found to my husband because of you. So THANK YOU! I think this “Coffee with Collin” is a great idea and I’m really looking forward to watching these videos every week. You ARE supermom!

  33. Amyt

I love your site! I am cracking up about the un-hipness of the VB bags. I know why my mom likes them, she is 60 years old. I cannot understand why anyone younger than that would give a VB bag a second look. Not only are they not hip, even their “clearance” prices are much too high.
    Keep up the good work!

  34. Jennifer C

You are so adorable and fun, Collin! I love your videos and I’m looking forward to next Monday 🙂 Thanks for all you do for us!

  35. Sharon Scott

I agree with Collin about Vera Bradley, my mom LOVES them, nothing wrong about that 🙂
but she’s 66, as for me I LOVE LOVE LOVE, Butler Bags by Jen Groover – helps keep me organized (and she FINALLY!) brought back the leather ones! – I always take advantage of the sample sales – that way you save lots of money & only you know you have a sample!

  36. Smitha

Great video Collin! Can’t wait for the series 🙂

  37. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I LOVE your series. I’ve missed your Monday videos, but understand they were very time consuming. I learned so much from them–visual learner that I am. So happy I can “spend” some time with you on Mondays again.

  38. Nikki

Nothing like enjoying a cup with my fav couponeer.

  39. Nicole

I seriously almost pee’d my pants about Vera Bradley. I think they look like “old lady” bags. Lots of friends and family love them and love to show them off to me for some odd reason LMAO.

  40. Lisa

Love your site!! Although I am a fan of Vera Bradley, I know for sure that my husband is glad that you don’t post any of their deals…you’re saving him money : ) Also, my son (7 yrs) loves to watch your videos and even asks if H2S has any new ones. Got to teach them while they are young!! Thanks for all you do : )

  41. Amanda

I’ve always wondered what those purses where. I see them a lot (mostly older ladies) and have never known they were a big thing. I must say I’m really not a fan of them either!

  42. riggsb

SOOOOOOO excited that you are doing videos again! You are so entertaining and fun. I always feel inspired after watching…

  43. Tracie

Ok…I admit that Vera Bradley bags look old lady-ish, but I LOVE them! I will even tell people, I know that they look old lady-ish, but I don’t care. I love the bright prints and the fact that they are fabric. Maybe I am an old lady on the inside…. 🙂

  44. Pam

I love your blog! I got a huge chuckle from watching your video. I use a Vera Bradley purse to hold my coupons, my shopping list, the weekly store ads and my coupon organizer in. I don’t care what happens to the purse itself, just so long as I have my COUPONS!
You are only human, and kuddos to all you do! Thank your husband for his service in the military 🙂

  45. Tambry

I agree the Vera Bradley paisley prints are a little old-lady-ish.

I went to their site and found they have some solid color bags that are actually cute.

Collin, look at them and let me know what you think. I would still prefer a nice Aigner or
Coach bag vs Vera Bradley. Food for thought. Love the idea of the new Monday series.

  46. Lana

ROFL love love love it Collin!

  47. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Happy Valentine’s Day to you too

  48. melissa

Collin lives down the road from me and I have been checking out her site for a while now but have never posted! She is so cute and funny though even in real life!!! Our sons hang out alot and I just wanted everyone who doesnt know her personally to understand she is as crazy and fun as she seems over the computer!!! OH and I am NOT a fan of Vera Bradley, I think its a country thing… when I was living in KY, it was a big hit but not so much in the city area! Anyways Collin awesome job and I love watching you on my computer!!!!

  49. Rayna

    Colin,

You are so talented and full of great tips!

I found you while searching for some great couponing tricks on YouTube.com and then came across your Hip2Save site. I’ve been hooked ever since!

It’s been a little over a month now and i find myself actually looking forward to grocery shopping. I been able to save my family 50% off of our shopping totals. Thank you for help! You’re great and look forward to more of your new Monday Morning shows!

P.S. I share your 2 cents in regards to the “Old Lady” Vera Bradley bags. Try looking up Maggie Bags. They’re made from recycled seat belts and look great!
    https://www.maggiebags.net

    Thanks,
    Rayna
