The folks over at Family Dollar were nice enough to send me a variety of their new Family Gourmet products and their brand name counterparts. My kids were very excited to taste-test these items (and the pancakes and syrup gave us a great reason to make breakfast for dinner!). We were pleasantly surprised at the taste and quality of the Family Gourmet items especially the cereal and syrup. The only item that did not taste nearly as good its national counterpart was the apple juice; we definitely preferred the Mott’s apple juice.
