   I live pretty close to that store but didn’t receive a mailer like that. I just wonder what zip code she lives in and if that’s how they decide who gets them. I actually live closer to the one on Bolger that is currently being made into a Super WalMart. Maybe they will send out coupons when they get finished remodeling. Hope so. Thx to my friend in Texas for telling me about this web site!

   I live in North Texas & after our Walmart remodeled last year & received one of those gift cards. It was awesome.

   After our Wal-Mart remodeled they actually handed me one in the store after checking out. It was awesome!

   I live in North Texas and received a card in the mail about three weeks ago. I activated it, however, when scanned it did not work. I even called the 800 number a second time to activate the card, the system indicated the card was already activated. I tried using it at another location, still nothing.

    I received mine when a new store went in 10 miles from my home. I had no problem using it. It was such a nice unexpected treat.

    Our WalMart moved into a larger location and we got a $5 giftcard. We didn’t have any problems using it. Nice little surprise.

    I have a funny – yet awesome – story about these lil cards. Last year, the WM near my mom in Texas was having a grand re-opening as well, and they lived in an apartment complex. Well, as you can suspect, many people thought these were junk and threw them out right away at the mailboxes. My mom discovered that hers was NOT junk and her and my brother went to gather the ones that everyone had thrown out — which was over 60 of them (over $300 worth!!!). Can you say CHA-CHING!? 🙂

    Hey everyone, just an fyi. Walmart sends out the flyers after their store has been remodled, to try to attract more customers. My husband & I used to do the electrical portion of the remodles on Walmarts throughout the U.S. They say the reason they do the gift cards is to attract new customers & to bring back the old ones. It really doesn’t make much sense to me, but $5 is $5. : )
