…And don’t forget that through June 19th, whenever you purchase $50 or more of any combination of men’s apparel (in-store or online), you’ll receive a $25 award card valid for a future purchase.  Plus, if you purchase online during 6/12-6/18, you’ll receive an additional 15% off on men’s clothing when you enter the promo code SEARSJUNE15 at checkout or you can get $5 off $50 with the promo code SEARS5OFF50 (Thanks, April!).  This should definitely make for a great deal when paired with a sale or Clearance finds!

I thought they had to be the C3 series? The screwdrivers don’t seem to be that

  2. Christy Lighthouse

Yeah they are on the C3 tools

  3. Hannah

Don’t they have to be the C3 series? Just wondering….

  4. Lindsey

I bought stuff with my gift card at kmart…it is just a normal gift card that you can use at Lands end, kmart, Sears, and a couple other places! πŸ™‚

    • Hannah

No offense, but is that ethical? Just wondering…want to do the right thing…thoughts anyone?

      • Katie

Yeah I don’t think that’s ethical at all. The gift card is supposed to be used on C3 Tools. Companies won’t put out good coupons or offers anymore if people abuse them like that.

        • Fallyn

She wasn’t abusing it. She was using a gift card at the store’s discretion. If they didn’t want to accept it, they didn’t have to, according to what it states on the back of the gift card.

      • fran

I thought you had to use this at Sears, but if you look on the back of the card, Lindsey is right. The other place Lindsey didn’t mention is The Great Indoors (never heard of this place).

        • Susie

AND it clearly states what it CAN’T be used for….it’s pretty much a $10 gift card for anything, according to the fine print.

        • Fallyn

I find nothing wrong with using it the gift card however the store allows you to use it. It is the store’s discretion to allow purchases of other merchandise. Nobody is forcing them to accept the offer.

      • Jennifer

What’s not ethical about it? If it was only good on C3, then it wouldn’t scan at the register. It’s no different than the store offering something 10 for $10 – you don’t have to buy all 10. It’s just a marketing ploy to try to get you to buy C3.

    • Amanda

It says valid on C3 tools on the front, but not only on them. It is just a gift card advertising them. The back of the card does say Sears, Kmart, Great escape(which is outdoor furniture, spas and pools) and Lands End!

      • Michele

Exactly — it’s all in the wording which states “valid on C3 tools” so the key here is that it does NOT state valid ONLY on C3. This is just a marketing tool so that you will hopefully use it to buy C3 tools but if you read the small print – what really matters anyway it states what it cannot be used on. I was extremely thrilled to receive my card and can’t wait to use it. I’m a single mom and working on lots of house projects that require tools I don’t have. πŸ™‚

      • nann

        thanks

    • B

Hm. That’s a conundrum. Theoretically, it’s like one of those coupons that say “Redeem at so and so” as in, they are making a specific suggestion to push you a certain direction, but you don’t have to do that.

    • K

Thank you for the Tip! They have pillow pets on sale today for $8.97 and have Free in store pickup so I used the card and got 2 of them (one for each of my girls) for just a little oop.

I do not find this wrong at all. If it was meant for just the C3 tools it wouldn’t come off other orders. But to each his own.

    • Oksana

The point of the gift card is to try Craftsman tools. The company is hoping you will love their brand and in the future will buy only this brand. You are getting a Craftsman tool, so what’s wrong with it?

  5. Tara

I signed up for the card, but I haven’t gotten it in the mail yet.. When did you guys get yours?

    • fran

I got my card last Wednesday, expires 8/15/11.

    • Mo

I got mine just the other day; I’m in CO HTH

    • Anna

got it about a week ago (in IL)

  6. Abigail

Collin, thank you so much for the help on your Coffee with Collin episode yesterday! It has “inspired” me to go to Walmart. So today I’m going to ad-match some things and use some coupons! πŸ˜‰
Also, I’m not sure if anyone else found this at their local Publix, but I went in yesterday to do my weekly shopping, and they had a $3.00/2 Johnson & Johnson Red Cross Brand products coupon. (It was out of one of those little SmartSource machines right by the product {sorry, I don’t know exactly what it’s called}) So instead of the $1.00/2 coupon, I’m gonna get 4 and use two of those $3 coupon to score a nice little moneymaker! πŸ˜‰ Did anyone else spot these?

    • B

The sandpaper portfolio looks like a great coupon holder! LOL!

    • mary

Please be aware that the C3 tools don’t come with a battery so you would have to buy that separately. It looks like the batteries run around $30 or so based on their website. Not that great of a deal IMO.

  7. Pinky

They work just like a gift card. I selected pick up in store and got two garden tools for my hubby. I only had to pay 65 cents which I used PaPal for. Awesome free Father’s day gift my hubby will love.

    • Pinky

They were Craftsman. I assumed it just had to be Craftsman products, it recommends you use them on C3 but does not require it.

  8. angela

I personally dont think its unethical at all, when you read the back of the gift card that you receive, it says that you may redeem at kmart, and lots of other stores…. to each their own, but personally I think its ok since the back of the card says it is.

    • jennifer e

agree. i read the back too and it did mention all those other stores. it even had a little blurb about the gift card can be refilled. so it seems this is being treated as a gift card.

      • jennifer

Yeah, I went ahead and bought my daughter a book and received 99 cent shipping. It went through just fine.

  9. Pinky

and the C3 tools average 80-100 bucks.

  10. angela

If you dont have a store near you, you can have it shipped, keep in mind shipping is about 6.95 so dont spend more then 3 or 4 if you dont want to go over much. Most of mine was used in tax dollars.

  11. Sandra

The back of the card gives a few places that the card can be used, but on the front of the card it reads $10 valid on any C3 Tool! So it was meant to be used on a C3 Tool! I got it to give to my daughter to help her with a father’s day gift, but things have changed so I won’t use it for father’s day now. Good thing it expires in August! lol

  12. Diane

Be careful – those lights do not include the battery!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

None on them include batteries! The battery is $30. All C3 require the $30 battery!

  13. Cristina

those prices are not showing up for me πŸ™

    • Cristina

never mind, I found them πŸ™‚ thanks

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

How did you find them? help please

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      same here πŸ™

  14. Misty

I got the envelope in the mail, but it had been opened and no coupon.

  15. Jeremy

no option to select ship to store for me on the light

    • Dee

No option for me to ship to store for pick up on any of the C3 reconditioned items.

  16. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I bought a Craftsman toolbox for me to put my couponing tools in! Ha! Ha! I am a single mom so my kids are going to give it to me for Father’s Day! I am dad and mom to my 4 kiddos. OOP 83 cents! Great gift!

  17. Janell

I am so bummed! I got my envelope in the mail last week, but the card wasn’t in it. I emailed Vocalpoint, but never heard back. I was hoping to use it towards a Father’s Day gift. πŸ™

  18. Laura

My card was actually lying on my kitchen floor cause I didn’t think too highly of it. I’m glad I read these comments! This is definitely just a Sears giftcard! I will convice my husband we must go there on his day off. He has been eyeing some new tools at Home Depot, but we didn’t have much money for them. This will be awesome, he can get something new for fathers day (along with the helicopter you posted about on Amazon, I got that in the mail a week or two ago, smaller than expected, but I think he’ll like it!)

  19. kathy

We bought a C3 cordless drill & circular saw combo for $49.99 – included the battery & charger. Thought it was a great deal because each of these items would have been more individually and you would still have to buy the battery. It’s a pretty high oop but my hubby was looking for a cordless drill and the saw is a bonus and will be useful
for small jobs around the house.

  20. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I used mine to by toilet paper that was on sale at kmart. I read the back carefully and realized it was just a regular gift card. I called the 1-800 number on back, yep, regular gift card. Just to be extra safe, when I went to the store, I went directly to customer service and asked them. They read the back, ran it through the register (said it was a $10 gift card) and called their own corporate office. They said it is just a $10 gift card, use it whatever you want. I checked every possible way before I used it, so I don’t feel bad at all. Also, they had color wonder sets on clearance for $4 and glow explosion for $2! Ran home and got my coupons! Made the CW $3 each, and the GE free!!! Also used my rewards points to get an extra $2 off! Oh yeah, they also had the Crayola giant coloring pages books for $1.50 ( reg $7.79) and a bunch of markers and other things for $1! I rarely go to kmart because they are always dirty and junky, but I got super lucky this time!

    • AC

Where you got the coupon for CW? Thanks!

  21. Kristen

I missed out on this one when Collin originally posted it…if anyone has a card they are not going to use I would love to use it, my email address is kristen7@gmail.com. I figure it can’t hurt to ask. πŸ™‚

  22. Paola

HELP!!!! I don’t know how to choose the pick uo at the store… I never saw that option!

  23. Noelle

When I go on-line, I see no sale for the buy $50 get $25. I called and the person on the phone didn’t know what I was talking about. She said it must be over. How can I do this sale?

  24. Shelly

Just a heads up – I just bought two clearance shirts @ Land’s End for .46! Did a quick search and found a free shipping code (no minimum) that expires today. πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

  25. Dianna

That’s great that you can use it on other items. I had no idea. Thanks a bunch for the tip!

  26. LaShaun

I got mine Saturday. My husband only wants Craftsman tool & has some if the C3 tools so now I can just buy something that goes with the batteries he all ready has in the garage. YEY!

  27. Grace

Yay! My son will go bananas when he gets his [*TOTALLY FREE*] bumble bee pillow pet! I couldn’t figure out why picking it up at the store was going to charge me $8+ so I chatted with online help and he sent me a link to sign up for a free 30-day trial of free shipping (kinda like the Sears version of Amazon Prime) and so free gift card + free pillow pet + free shipping = a VERY happy mama! And… I have .29 on my card still to spend! I’ll have to wait for a pretty good deal.

  28. monica

thanks for the reminder πŸ™‚ we were able to get a replacement battery for hubby for under $15 with taxes and all (costs $30)… not bad!
