With so many new Hip2Save readers, I thought I would mention another legitimate survey site. In addition, to being rewarded with cash for taking surveys, Toluna Panel Members also have the opportunity to test out products for FREE as a Toluna product tester! If this sounds right up your alley, then you’ll definitely want to sign up for the Toluna Panel Community!

Toluna is an online community dedicated to making your voice heard. By participating in surveys, you tell the world’s leading providers of products and services exactly what you think and you earn rewards. Plus, each month Toluna panelists are considered to test products ranging from household cleaning products, pre-packaged foods, iPads, electronic equipment, make-up, hair care products, toiletries, pet food and pet-related products, beverages, and more! If a product testing opportunity arises, you will either get an email, or will see notification when you’re on the Toluna site… you will then be required to go through a screening process to see if you are eligible to test that specific product.

Here’s how the survey portion works…

* Upon completing the Toluna registration, you will automatically be entered into the monthly $4,500 sweepstakes AND you will receive an initial 500 points!

* Survey Completion: Earn at least 1,000 points, or more, for each survey you qualify for and complete. Points awarded vary by survey. Since signing up, I have received emails on a daily basis to complete surveys valued at 2,100-9,000 points!

* Survey Participation: If you attempt to take a survey, but do not qualify for the study, you will still be rewarded with an entry to the monthly cash sweepstakes offering more chances to win…three lucky winners each month win cash prizes of $2,500, $1,000, and $500, plus two winners snag prizes of $250!

* Personal Interest Survey (Profile) Completion: You can earn additional points by completing the personal interest surveys. Each completed interest survey is worth an additional 600 points. Complete all 15 profiles to earn an additional 2,000 points over and above the points awarded for each profile!

Here’s the best part… the points you earn can then be converted into cash rewards or entries to their monthly $4,500 drawing! Basically, 3,000 points = $1. So when you have reached a minimum account balance of 60,000 points, you can request a $20 check; when you have reached a minimum account balance of 75,000 points, you can redeem your points to go shopping with a $25 VIP Gift pass voucher; or when you have reached a minimum account balance of 500 points, you can submit an entry for the $4500 monthly sweepstakes.

I really like Toluna. It’s given me two $20 checks so far and I’ve been a member since November of 2010. While I don’t qualify for many surveys, it’s fun to get 15-30 points for the short answers, thought I do get a little bored of answering the same questions, and getting directed to the same surveys only to be told I’ve already taken them. Yup! I knew that!

I have been doing Toluna now for a few months and have already gotten 4 $20 checks and I am waiting on a $40 check. It is nice because you can go on there and do surveys when ever you want, you don’t have to wait for them to email you one… I did one today for 45,000 points, I was so excited!!! I normally only get 3,000 point surveys. You need 60,000 points for $20.

I’ve been with Toluna since last September and to date I have made 100 dollars doing surveys, posting opinion topics, voting for points. If your topics are popular say 25 or more people commented on them you’ll earn bonus points 100 to even 2000 points. Be active and you could be promoted and earn additional bonus points. I’m currently at the Intermediate level. I don’t try for surveys that would take more than 20 minutes and have gotten burned doing 25 minutes survey to only find out in the end I didn’t qualify, but I’m pretty happy with Toluna. A while back when this topic came up about joining Toluna, I said I’ll try, and now here I am reporting to you that Toluna is easier than qualifying for Pinecone Research.

If you are a current Toluna member, let us know what you think and how time consuming the surveys are! Also, let us know if you have ever been selected as a product tester?

I joined Toluna a long time ago and forgot about it, but started up again when I saw your post here. Since re-dedicating a small portion of time a day, I’ve already received 2 checks ($40 total) and am halfway to another one. This is simply by answering surveys & polls – I’m not active, don’t make polls, etc. At just doing the basic work, I’m averaging almost $20 extra a month – that’s a HUGE help! Thanks for the reminder 🙂

I am a Toluna member and really enjoy it. I have around 70,000 points right now and I don’t even do that many of the surveys as many of them are full by the time I get home from work.

One downfall for me is that I don’t qualify for a lot of the surverys because they usually ask if you work in the media. I’m a receptionist at a radio station therefore I’m automatically disqualified from a large percentage of opportunities. I still receive entries into the prize drawings though, so it’s not a total wash!

At the moment I am doing a product testing for toothpaste.

It’s worth it, so sign up! You can do as many or as few as you like.

There’s a time limit for redeeming your points. I think it’s one year from the date earned. If you don’t redeem them, you’ll lose them.

I am very happy with Toluna. I have been with them for less then a year and have made $180 so far.. The nice thing about them is you can always go on there and there are surveys, you don’t have to wait for them to email you… They don’t pay as well as the other survey companys if you think of all the surveys you must complete for a check but if you have time to kill and want to do a survey you can!! I have made the most money from them but have done a lot of survey!!

I have been a member of Toluna for about two years. I have recently found other sites that I have used more actively but Toluna is a consistently good site. You will always find surveys so you don’t have to wait forever to get your next invite, you can actively find them on their site. I also have made money about 60 dollars plus a gift card to Kohl’s for 50 dollars. This was in less than a year. My one complaint is that the surveys can be time consuming and you get bumped from them for not qualifying to late into the survey. Sometimes you will spend 20 minutes and then it will say you don’t qualify. I know that this is a common complaint of the site. However if you are an active survey taker and want to find one that is great this is the one that I would recommend!!

I have been a member on toluna for about 3 months and I have gotten a little over 150,000 points. I just cashed it in today for a $50 giftcard to olive garden! They always have tons of surveys emailed everyday. A lot I don’t qualify for, but there are so many, it is easy to rack up points. The only bad thing I would say is that you don’t get your points right away, it will always say incentive pending for a survey you took, and sometimes take weeks to show up.

I’ve been a member since September 2010 and have earned $300 (and I’m about ready to cash out another $20). I’m doing better with Toluna and Opinion Outpost than with any of the other survey companies. No survey company is perfect, but this one is very good.

    • GiveMeCash

Give me cash rather than points any day. As as for winning some Grand Drawing, do you notice that it’s very hard to find how often (is it years?) that they draw such a winner?

  7. Carol

There are much better survey co’s out there. I have made about $80 on this one in the past couple years, but I have noticed more and more I am disqualified literally when i get to the LAST question on a survey. Emailing them either gets no response or a sarcastic, unprofessional email. I have been deleting the surveys, just haven’t gotten around to dropping them yet.

    • Patricia

I agree. It looks like I completed the survey, get the congrats and all of that and then get a nasty email back when I complain I didn’t get the points – going to keep doing polls only or drop them

    • jenny

I have noticed this too, I have been disqualified several times after going more than half way thru a survey. And 2 surveys I did that I didn’t write the ID number down on I NEVER got my points. I have found better survey co. out there. I don’t know how all these ladies have earned so much money with them- I have been a member for half a year and only earned 49,000 points – 20,000 from a $20 check.

This question is for survey takers…Is it normal for them to ask personal questions about you (income, children, pets)? Just curious. If so, why do they do this? Are they trying to use that info to see if you qualify for the survey? It might be a dumb question but I really don’t like sharing personal info because of identity theft, etc…

    Thanks for your help!

    • Melissa

yes, b/c they are looking for a specific demographic. I belong to several survey sites and usually the first few questions are age, location, income, race.

      • Amber

Oh, ok. That makes sense. Thanks, Melissa.

  9. Gina

Ive noticed a few of you have mentioned better paying survey sites….please share! (sites and your experiences with them)

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Check out pinecone, opinionoutpost, opinionplace, survey savvy, and global test market

I only do toluna now because the others aren’t just worth my time. The downside to toluna for me is that the survey can be a waste of time, especially the ones with big points, so I like the 1200 to 3000 points surveys. A waste of time because sometimes you make it to the end only to find out you are disqualified. If it takes longer than 10 minutes, I’m not interested. And you gotta do the 15, 30, 100 quick question and answer survey that you can be credited right away. I would read the FAQ’s first if you have any doubts. First check can arrive with 4 to 8 weeks.

    • Laura

This just happened to me! I answered a lot of questions and all of a sudden it said I didn’t qualify!

  11. Tatiana

I am a member of several survey sites and Toluna is one of my faves right now. The points add up pretty fast. I normally cash out for Tanga card (i think that’s what they are called) where you can choose amazon or any other gc. I love doing surveys and it’s been paying for groceries on amazon.com as well as all kids toys and christmas gifts.

  12. Gina

I have been on Toluna for about an hour and have NOT been able to complete one survey. Ive tried about 7 and I was not chosen to continue and then finally I got into the last one and the site experienced technical difficulties and kicked me out. Disappointing…

    • Amber

Me too. I thought I was the only one…

    • Laura

The exact same thing happened to me.

    • Lisa

Same experience here. I don’t seem too qualify for many and the ones I do qualify for are long with repetitive questions. I like other sites better. I keep plugging away but when I calculate my hourly wage it is discouraging. It is only valuable if you have lots of extra time and no other way to earn income.

  13. Jennifer

I took Toluna surveys for about 2 months. They sent me several emails a day with surverys, but most of them I didn’t either qualify for or they were long surverys. They also send you to a lot of outside survey sources and I have started getting a lot of junk email in my inbox now. I stopped going to this site.

  14. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I HATE Toluna. I participate with a bunch of online survey companies, and this one is the absolute worst about saying “you don’t qualify” after making you answer 15+ minutes worth of questions. I gave up after about a month of that. I would recommend other survey companies such as opinionoutpost, opinion place, survey savvy, global opinion panel, and global test market.
