Are you in the process of making a coupon binder or maybe updating the coupon binder you currently have? If so, you may be interested in checking out the following deals…

Amazon has these Avery Style Edge Insertable Plastic Dividers (8-Tab Set) priced at only $3.99 – down from $6.29! Even sweeter, these ship completely FREE! Just select standard shipping during checkout. I have these exact plastic dividers in my binder currently and LOVE them! Choosing to get plastic instead of paper dividers is very smart as the paper ones never last long since they easily tear.

UPDATE: If the wrong price for the Avery dividers is showing up, click on “More Buying Choices” to the right (like the pic below) and choose the Amazon.com $3.99 price.

Also, if you’re in need of 9 pocket sheet protectors to put your coupons in, you’ll definitely want to check out this deal! Currently, these Ultra Pro 9 Pocket Pages “Silver Series” (includes 100 pages!) are priced at only $13.76 – down from $20! These also ship FREE with Amazon Prime or on $25 or more with Super Saver Shipping! Check out a couple of the reviews…

I bought these after buying a different brand at a local retailer and these are by far superior. I use the sleeves for coupons rather than trading cards and they are incredibly durable, and even cheaper per unit than the cheap-o ones I bought before. I couldn’t be more satisfied and HIGHLY recommend them. Ultra-Pro has me sold, I won’t consider another brand for this product.

I purchased these baseball card pages to hold coupons in my coupon binder. As another reviewer mentioned, the quality is miles above what a particular discount store sells. The pages are durable and the seams hold up well even when I have to store a stack of multiple coupons in a slot.

And if you are making your coupon binder from scratch, here are a few deals on binders:

Case-It Locker 3-Inch Q Zipper Binder, RED
Only $12.70 – down from $19.99!

Avery Durable View Binder with 1.5 Inch EZ-Turn Ring, Black, 1 Binder
Only $4.99 – down from $12.49!

Avery Nonstick Heavy-Duty EZD Reference View 3 Inch Black Binder
Only $9.99 – down from $23.99!

Avery Nonstick Heavy-Duty EZD Reference View 4 Inch Black Binder
Only $12.99 – down from $34.49!

* I personally do not use a binder with a zipper.  I first started out with a zippered binder, but I built up a nice coupon stash quite fast and was no longer able to zip the 3″ binder. To me the whole point of a zippered binder is to keep it zipped so your coupons don’t fall out. Plus, it was so bulky and very difficult to put in my purse. I finally realized that it made way more sense to just buy a normal binder. It fits in my purse nicely and I’m able to pull out coupons without having to actually take the whole binder out.

How many sets of the tabs do I need? I guess it all depends, but how many could you suggest?

    • Renny

nevermind!! just read your other post…8 sets!! TY for such a great website!!

    • Collin

      Hi Renny,

I would suggest getting a total of 4 sets of the 8-tab dividers, that way you’ll have enough for all the different categories. Of course, you can start out with less and than buy more if you need them.

      • Renny

Thanks, I meant to say 4 sets!! 😉

  2. Julianne

I followed the advice found on Collin’s video and made my own coupon binder and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it! Currently I am making them up for family members as gifts and i’ve sold one on Ebay and one from my fb. I currently have one listed if you would like to check it out : https://www.ebay.com/itm/120776086707?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649
Hope its ok to post this…if not, just delete it i guess. 🙂 But the family members I have made these for did not regularly coupon, but they are definitely getting into it now that they have a binder!

  3. TINA STEVENS

Didn’t know if you still did not get a new binder purse, I saw just one like you use to have at my Target and thought of you 😉

    • Collin

      Hi Tina!

Nope… I am still in search of a new coupon binder purse! 🙁 Currently, I am using an Old Navy reusable bag, but it’s really not doing the job.

      • mackyjane

I’m definitely looking for a coupon binder purse too. My purse just isn’t quite big enough and it’s super tough getting it in and out of my purse…which is quite unhelpful. I don’t have a Target in my area and don’t feel comfortable ordering one online, since I don’t know if it’ll be big enough. I would love to hear if you find a new coupon binder purse!

      • Ashley

Hello, I have a 5 inch binder that is absolutely awesome for holding coupons in is is only about 2 months old. I am looking to sell it for $15. Lemme know if youre interested!! Thanks

        Ashley

        Hey Collin,

First, thank you for all you do to keep us all informed of all the great deals out there…a few months back I read how your purse broke and I was going to email then, but didn’t. So now I’m reading again how you STILL haven’t found what you like, so I’m just gonna go ahead and put this offer out there for you…I make purses, bags, etc. and recently came up with a coupon binder cover with handles, pockets, etc. I use this cover (kinda like a purse) to carry my binder (& I can send pics of it if you’d like to see it), but if you’d like, email me with a list of what you’d like in your coupon bag/purse (approx. size, featrues, color, etc.) and I’ll make a custom purse/bag/coupon holder for you…if you’re happy with it, I’d appreciate you sharing what you like about it with others, and if not, well, then you’ll have another bag to use until you find what you are looking for. I love sewing and creating and most of what’s in my etsy shop and on facebook has come out of a need that someone had, so maybe your need will become the next addition to my shop.

        Thanks,
        Jennifer

  4. Kate

So, Collin, what did you end up using after your binder purse broke? You never did post pics?!

    • Collin

As I said above, I haven’t found one yet… guess I’m picky. I am currently using a reusable bag from Old Navy.

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

As soon as you buy a new purse and tell us where you bought it every store that carries it will be out of stock in a matter of hours!! LOL!!!

  5. Sharon

I just got this for my son and a binder for school at walmart..binder was $10.00 and walmart sells the 8 tab set for $3.00. The only problem is these are big and won’t fit in my purse. Not everyone carries around a huge purse. How can I oranize my coupons and keep them in a smaller purse?

      • Jennifer

Had one of those before I upgraded to the binder. Find it works best for those with small quanities of coupons… Once I started to accumulate more mine was bursting at the seams and it was next to impossible to find anything in. While I had tried to avoid it, I now LOVE my coupon binder.

      • Sharon

Thanks.. they have some cute ones to go in a purse and don’t look too big.

      • mary

I use the expanding file coupon organizer for my coupons and it works great for me. I don’t have tons of coupons since I don’t get the newspaper so I just have what I get online or clip from the RP that comes in the mail. I love it though, and I recently saw som in the dollar spot at Target for 2.50.

    • Nicole Z.

I’ve seen people use small, purse-sized photo albums to organize coupons. I think it would be hard to see all your coupons at one time, then, but you could just put some in there and it would easily fit in your purse.

    • Chelsea

I use the medium sized expandable file holder to shop with and have a regular binder that I keep at home for all of my coupons. All 3 sizes of expandable file holders are in the $1 section at Target. Can’t beat that price!

  6. Patti

Does anyone have ideas to store restaurant and retailer coupons? In the past, I used a small photo album so that it would easily store in the car. Problems included the coupons falling out even when marked “this end up”, not enough photo pages and my family got lazy to search through it.

    • Wendy

I have one of those accordian folders (the small size) and I keep it in my purse. Inside I keep coupons for free items, restaurants coupons, stores (like Bath & Body Works, etc) & rain checks. I also keep the ones like clothing or toys at Target, pens, etc. And I still have a spot where I can put coupons for that days trip if I want to. But I always keep it in my purse.

      • tntdeals

I do this as well & it works great!

    • Chelsea

I use the medium sized expandable file holder to shop with. All 3 sizes of expandable file holders are in the $1 section at Target. Can’t beat that price!

  7. Jennifer

    Collin,
I totally agree with you about using the non-zip binder. While I’ve only been using one for about 3 weeks now, I have found myself having to search for coupons while in the store and its a breeze with the regular binder.

As for my carrying case, I actually use the tote that the came with the Bath and Body Works 2011 Spring V.I.P. Tote. Have not had any issues with it thus far and I’d recommend giving that a try if you had purchased that deal and the bag isn’t already being used for something else 🙂

  8. Maria

    You saved me!! Thank you!!!!
Im a student teacher and totally needed binder and dividers to save my work! The local office supplies store was going to kill me with prices on 4 inch binder!!
Has anyone been able to find a good binder purse on Amazon?

  9. Elizabeth

Help! Collin, when I click on the tab it takes me to the dividers, but they are priced at $6.42!!! I really want these, my paper ones have had it….am I doing something wrong?

    • Collin

      Hi Elizabeth,

If the link is pulling up the $6.42 price, then look to the right under “More Buying Choices” and click on the Amazon.com $3.99 price! 🙂

      • Elizabeth

Thanks! I got it! I sooooo needed these….they came at just the right time….I too am looking for a new binder purse, let me know when you find one 🙂

  10. Susan

In Collin’s video she mentions that it does take a lot of time to keep up a binder. I have been using a box/file system for about 25 years but may make the switch.
Up to this point I have been, “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.”
Anyone have any idea how much time binder vs. box takes? I am sure that box filing is quicker but I probably spend more time in stores or preparing for shopping by checking through my categories in a file than if they were in full view in pages.
If it matters I rarely have double copies of inserts.
    Thanks!

    • Nel

I was avoiding the binder too but came upon a binder and the baseball card sleeves free so I gave it a shot Labor Day weekend (when there were no new ones to clip). Initially it was a pain to set up but I am happy with it now. I don’t buy multiple papers but do get a couple of extra inserts most weeks from friends. It doesn’t take much longer to file and it is nice at the store too. I’m thinking I’ll stick with the binder now.

      • Susan

Thanks Nel! Still deciding whether to take the binder plunge!

  11. mary

Go myself and my daughter case it binders at Target for $6

  12. Lindsey

I think a coupon binder or starter kit would make and EXCELLENT giveaway… just sayin’ 😉

    • kidsallgone

      Where’s the “like” button? LOL!

  13. Jen C

I definitely need to convert to the binder method. My expanding filer isn’t cutting it anymore. It’s too difficult. 🙁 Thanks for the tips! 🙂

  14. kidsallgone

I have baseball card plastic inserts in my zippered binder.
I think I’m going to switch to the 4 x 6 photo plastic inserts.
I’ll need more of the 4 x 6 sheets than the baseball ones because there will be less pockets on a sheet, but I get tired of my coupons falling out of the baseball ones or sometimes I’m too lazy to cut on the lines or a lot of times the internet ones are too big.

***SO…..my question is: Where can I find a ton (about 50 sheets?) of the 4 x 6 photo pages that will be pretty cheap? Dollar stores? Family Dollar? Walmart? Costco? Ebay? Amazon? Any and all suggestions appreciated. TIA 🙂

PS…thanks for your post on the binders Collin! Perfect timing for me (though I also use a big binder, I currently use the zippered one). I’m really interested in your index though. It’s a little blurry but I pretty much use the same system. I have a section for HEALTH and then I subdivide that into: Hair, aches/pains, makeup, fem products, lotions/face washes, deoderants, toothepaste, toothebrushes, whiteners, floss, etc etc. Can you tell me a little bit about your index? Thanks for all you do! I’m amazed and in awe 🙂

    • Christy

Your best bet for the 4×6 photo sheets is to buy a pack at Wal-mart for about $4 -$5 for 50pk. Hope that helps, good luck!!

    • Brianna

I have some baseball card holders as well as 4×6 photo card holders, and the 9-pocket pages definitely work better for me! With the bigger pockets, my coupons fall out when I’m just turning the pages! I am definitely going to buy some more baseball card holders!

  15. Jen

Thanks to you, I started my binders 6 months and it’s helped me out so much this way and I only spent about $2. Check out your local thrift stores, I found about 100pack 6 pocket sleeves for 35cents and dividers for the same price. They had so many of them and binders there as well. Some looked brand new. 🙂

  16. Julie

The price is now up to $6.42 for the dividers 🙁

    • Julie

Oops – just read the update – sorry 🙂

  17. Jenna

The dividers are back up to 6.42 🙁

  18. Shanshan

For your own good I say buy that Case-it 3 inch binder right away.

However buy the 8 pocket insert instead. Easy to stuff multiple coupons without trimming/folding and you only need fold printables in half. you’ll thank me after you try it. (About $19 on Amazon, search with “ultra pro 8-pocket”). I don’t know why all blogs promotes 9 pocket. I’d never suggest anyone to buy those.

  19. Andromeda26

Oh my gosh! What timing! I was literally just on Amazon ordering a 5 incher (for I’ve run out of room in the 3), and pricing pages and dividers. $6.42 seemed like a bit much to me for ONE set of 8. I am SO glad I left it at the binder itself! Sigh! Time to make another order! Thanks Collin!

    • mackyjane

My Walmart sells the 8 tabs for $3.88. They are the plastic ones just like on Amazon.

  20. Missie

Hey Collin! What size is your binder? Can’t decide between 3″ or 4″. Thanks!

  21. Kaitlyn

So funny you posted this since I was going to email you about a cheap deal on baseball card inserts for a coupon binder! I saw them at the Dollar Tree!!! I completely forgot how many you got in a pack, but I there were 10. AWESOME deal!!

  22. Sherri

I do not see the pack of 100 baseball card inserts for $13.76. Mine only says $16.97. Anyone else seeing this?

  23. Jennefer

    Collin-
Have you not dropped you binder yet, LOL?

I used to use the regular kind of binder, then I dropped it once. It was a mess. I went to a zippered binder after that. I got a couple of Case-it binders on clearance at Target last year and I love them. I have outgrown one, so now I have 2 binders. One for groceries, one for the other stuff. To carry them, I got a really cute diaper bag. It doesn’t look like a diaper bag though. It is a really pretty quilted one. I like that it has extra pockets to hold whatever else I need.

  24. Sarah

I love couponing, but today was my first run in with a newspaper theif. We bought our newspaper this morning at the Dollar Tree like we do every Sunday and both copies were missing all four inserts. I have to say that I was very unhappy. I called them and wanted my newspapers replaced. Why would someone steal coupons? Its a dollar just buy the paper!

    • Jennefer

Where I live, stores are keeping the papers behind the counter now. The cashiers have to look through the papers before they sell them. They also quit putting them in the machines. Now people are stealing the paper from people’s porches. Here, we get the coupons in our local Saturday paper which is 75 cents. It isn’t a matter of cost, it is people being greedy and wanting as papers as they can get. They want all of those savings from the coupons, but don’t want to pay the initial cost of the paper. I buy 10 newspapers a week, according to the news office that is the ONLY LEGAL way to get the insert coupons. People stealing the papers aren’t too concerned with the legality of it though.

      • yangzi

Wow, your Sunday paper is super cheap at $0.75. Ours is $1.75 🙁

It’s better for me to buy individual coupons than buying whole Sunday paper since RP is home delivered and no longer in our Sunday paper.

        • julie

Ours is $2! Has been for years. If it was 75 cents I would buy multiple papers too!

          • Brianna

Mine’s $3 for a single paper and $5 for one with double coupons! Wish I could find some for .75! 🙂

            • julie

OMG! Where are you from?!! I live in WNY and I thought we were bad!

            • julie

But I’d pay for double coupons though…..

            • Brianna

I live in North Texas. I lived in MO recently and it was just a few cents cheaper there, I thought everybody paid that much! 🙂

  25. Meagan

🙁 I’ve had the hardest time keeping up with my coupons lately. I started my second semester of college and got promoted at work so I have not had a moment to spare. Today I finally got rid of my 8/31 expired coupons, which was a weight off my shoulders, but now my binder is empty and I have a pile of un-clipped coupon inserts. I think I will be changing to the file folder method by date. Hopefully it works, though it is not my preferred method. Wish me luck in Algebra and Mountain Biking Class (lol, I’m the only girl out there on a bike!)

    • shanshan

Good luck! I share your pain as mom of 3 young kids and hubby deployed. I organize my coupons after kids goes to bed and often I fall asleep on top of a pile of clipped/unclipped/expired coupons. I wish I could switch from the category method to the by-date method. However I rely heavily on printable coupons so will have to stay with category methods for now. It’s a lot of work to organize the binders. I’m also glad I’s using the Ultra Pro 8 pocket inserts early on. Would have been even harder to coupon had I stayed with 9 pocket.

    • Stephanie

I had this problem until I switched to a combo method. I file the inserts in a hanging filing system by date (Hot Coupon World has a database that lets you look up by typing in the date of the insert or by item). I file my printables and tearpads in my binder. It has really cut down on time, I love it!

  26. Sara T

That “purse” looks like a piece of luggage! LOL

  27. Eric

As a guy, I like the Zippered binder with the shoulder strap. It doesn’t look like a purse, and it sets in the cart nice and straight, don’t have to fiddle with it while trying to look thru it. It has the pockets that I can put unclipped insert in and a zippered pocket for my calculator and any special offer coupons(freebies, RR, and Rainchecks). Don’t know what I would do with out mine. But as I tell the people I teach, use what is comfortable for you. Just because it works for me doesn’t mean it works for everyone. Get what feels right, if you hate using it, then you won’t use it.

    Happy Couponing.

After I ordered the binder I found out it’s a “Q” ring, NOT a “D” ring binder. I think this Q ring will be tricky when you try to flip through pages and pages of coupons. Also after reading the product review I know now that it’s just a empty Q ring binder shell, and will NOT come with the accessories as pictured on Amazon. It was too late to cancel my order so I’ll have to refuse the package when it comes.

What would really work is the “Case-it D-185 XLarge Capacity Zipper Binder with 5-Tab File Folder” with 4 inch (or 5 inch?) D ring for $24. This I would totally buy if my beloved Case-It 3 inch D ring zipper binder ($12 from thrift store) ever dies on me.

But whatever binder you choose, I still suggest the 8 pocket Ultra pro page protector (. High quality, super clear, durable. I just can’t imagine going back to the tiny pockets of the 9 pocket pages, even if it’s made by Ultra Pro.

  30. Judy K

I usually organize at home and bring the coupons that I need..of course sometimes I miss out on a deal but I don’t always have a lot of time in the store..anyways, I was thinking of getting one of those clear over the door hanging shoe organizers and labeling the sections so I can find everthing better….I’ll let you know how it works.

  31. Judy K

oh…and where can I find the clear pencil pouch in the photo (sorry if you mentioned it already).

    • Judy K

Ok..found some on Amazon, but can also come up with something out of ziplock bags.

  32. jnamm

I was at Walmart yesterday. They had clear pencil pouches for 75cents. My boys really like those for there binders because they can see through them. I grabbed several.

  33. Kristen

Just received my materials on my doorstep today. Can’t wait to put it all together!
