Happy Friday: Create Your Very Own "Photo Shoot"
Sent from reader, Melanie: I’m a long time reader and check your blog daily. With a 2 1/2 yr old son and 6 month old twins, I have to be very “hip” with our budget. I am obsessed with pictures of my kiddos but just can not bring myself to pay studio prices. Even with a good coupon or a no sitting fee promotion, I feel like I’m constantly being talked into buying an expensive photo package. Not to mention it’s hard to keep 3 kids happy (and clean!) while we wait. With a little searching on the internet and some creativity- we create our own “photo shoots” for holidays and print the pictures for just pennies at a super-center or drug store. I think fellow Hip2Save readers would like our recent shoot and a Happy Fall to all!!!

As a Mom of twin boys (now 9) and an older ds (now 12), I can totally relate to Melanie. I haven’t had professional photos done of my boys since they were about 3 years old (not counting the ones at my sister’s wedding a month ago). I always do my own photo shoots even though I just have a basic point and shoot digital camera. They always come out very well and that’s what I use for Xmas cards.
Melanie’s photo brings back a lot great memories of when mine were this little. Love it! 🙂

I remember those days with a 17 month old and newborn twins. That was a real challenge in those days. I feel for Melanie, she is a busy person.
Yes, what a creative spirit Melanie has even in the face of all the work children are. I have a twin sister, a brother who is 15 months older, and another sister who is 5 years older. My mother always looked happy in pictures, but she also looked exhausted. And to think she had been under the assumption that she couldn’t have children after trying for eight years!
They are just the cutest little things!!!!! This absolutely is the best Halloween photo I have ever seen — there is no way you would get anything better, even if you spent a ton of money.

Love this picture! I totally agree about feeling pressured to buy a big package. I have a 5 yr old, 3 yr old, and 9 month old, and I would love it if Melanie would share the websites she got the idea for photo shoot(s) from – I am not at all creative, but I would love to do something like this for my family. Thank you!
What a great photo and idea! You should think about getting some of that “studio” money for yourself by offering to do photo shoots for people! Some great side money that could help stretch your budget even further ; )

Absolutely ADORABLE!!! I have 6 grandchildren whom of course I think are the most beautiful in the world, but these come pretty close-thanks for sharing!
