The olay gift sets are now just $9!! AWESOME DEAL!

  2. Krystal

I suggest calling the store that you plan on going to instead of assuming it will be from 9-5. My local store is doing it from 12-4 only. I see on that facebook page where a lot of stores are only doing it for a certain amount of time.

    • melissa

thanks for the suggestion! I called and my store is 24 hrs, they are starting at 7am until supplies run out.

  3. Stacy

Thanks. I called mine tonight. Ours is having it from 1-3pm tomorrow.

  4. melissa

I thought the Free Gift was with any purchase??

    • Rebecca

      It is.

  5. Daniela

I called my store in Temecula, CA and the manager said they’ll be doing this pretty much all day tomorrow (I called the one on Rancho and Margarita).

  6. Jennifer

I was at my local store tonight and they are doing it from 2-6 tomorrow.

  7. Amani

I’m glad I called. One store near me wasn’t aware of the event and the other starts at 10am. I guess I better finish the babbies costume tonight. lol

  8. Heather

My CVS isn’t even open on Sunday!

  9. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Just got back from this….it was so fun 🙂 Fun little gift pack with glow sticks, candy, rubber snake, and a 5×7 in his costume 🙂 Goddies for the kids and coupons for Mom not bad for free!

I took my 2 kids to my local CVS in Pasadena,TX this morning. They were both dressed up and I bought a pack of pull ups. The manager told me it was only one gift pack per family, but they both can take a picture. Really? How do you split the gift pack between 2 kids? That’s just asking for a fight and argument. I started to explain that to the manager and to tell him that I didn’t see that stated in the ad, so he said he wasn’t going to argue about it and gave me another one. Be aware in case this happens at your CVS.

    • nl

that is ridiculous. it should be each kid. i hate when companies try to make something about kids but it really isn’t.. it’s about selling. i’m glad you’re kids each got one though, finally..lol

      • rachel

He must not have kids or maybe no more than 1. I am glad you spoke up so maybe he will realize his mistake. Depending on what is in the goody bags I can see maybe not giving one to an infant but that would be unfair to make both of your kids split one. I hope they had a good time! I wish stores did this kind of thing when I was growing up! 🙂

    • weyanna73

We had one pack per kid in Crystal Lake Ilinois. I love our CVS.

      • Db

        We love you too!

    • Db

Our store had to ring up an item and then scan a 5 by 7 and the bag, we then scanned the coupon for the 5 by 7 and the bag showed up .00! If we scanned another bag a prompt popped up saying one per order! But he should have suggested two transactions!

  11. Amanda

Called the other day to ask about times and they didn’t even know about it but said to call back Sunday. I just decided to go there this morning and didn’t feel like putting my kid in costume if they weren’t doing it but talked the cashier into giving me the gift with purchase anyways. My son was happy with the toy snake lol

  12. Anna

My CVS was not even aware of this, I showed them the Ad, and it took them a good 30 mins of searching for the free gift, finally they substituted for 2 -8pk Reeses peanut butter cups. And Got my pics too. Well, Can’t complain now.

  13. Tracy

I took all 3 kids this am…2 dressed up but they gave all 3 kids (one 10months old) a gift pack. They each got a glow stick, and a pack of glow necklaces, a little plastic snack and spider, and a 2 candy items I believe. However they were not taking pictures in the store, they said to take a pic and have it developed and it would be free…thats fine with me cause I can dress up the baby too 🙂

My fav coupon was a $5 off any hershey’s candy 19oz or larger. They are on sale for 5.99 this week, so only .99 for the big bag of candy! It does say one coupon per customer but they took all 3 of mine. The other coupons were $2.00 off CVS brand c or d batteries, and $5 off any Halloween costume (kinda funny cause kids already had to be in costume)

    • Mrspurple

Yeah, I saw the coupons said one per customer, I was wondering if that meant I could only use one, making the rest of the coupons the other kids got useless.

    • mel

Each coupon is limit to One Per Customer, meaning you can’t use 2 of the $5 Hershey q’s, not that you have to choose between the 3 coupons.

      • Mrspurple

Lol, sorry, I didn’t explain that well, so that means that only 1 coupon of each type can be redeemed per family? So if I go in with my kids (they each got a kit) and try to get two bags of Hersheys I cannot do it, because it is only one per customer, or do my kids count as customers, or is it pretty much I can only redeeem the coupons from one child and the rest are useless (unless I find a family member or neighbor that would like them).

        • Mrspurple

Hmm I reread that, it sound ungrateful, I think it was awesome they did all that, I was just curious about the coupons.

        • theresa

your kids can be customers just give them the money I do it all the time was not happy with our pics but they were free

  14. Laura

The coupons that are included with the kit are as follows:

$5 off the purchase of any Halloween costume
$5 on purchase of any Hershey’s snack size bags 19 oz. or larger
$2 off any CVS pharmacy brand C or D batteries
Free 5 x 7 print from your digital camera or picture CD (maximum value of $1.99)

All of the coupon expire on 10/31/11.

    HTH someone! 🙂

  15. Jennifer Vergin

We just got back! Great little treat bag and picture. Thanks for the heads up!

  16. RACHEL

Did it here in winchester va store and while it was.kind of lame, the kids liked the treats and the mgr was EXTREMELY.nice about the whole thing….the pharmacist was all excited to give out candy, they had hidden buckets for the kids to go find and get suckers….i mean, not a hayride or anything…but sweet and the staff was real nice.

  17. Heather

My son loved going shopping with me to CVS this afternoon in his Harry Potter costume. The girls that work there made a big deal over them and they took the cutest picture and gave him a gift pack. Besides for the advertised gift pack, our store made up their own treat bags with lots of extra goodies like a pack of gum, a candy bar, some candy corn, and some extra toys!

  18. Crystal

I took my 2 boys all dressed up too and they got their picture taken but it was nothing special. When it came to the “free” picture they said I had to use the $1.99 CVS coupon in the treat bag to make it free. I thought that was really lame.

    • theresa

i agree they seemes like it was a hassle for them to do it
and i went late and had to purchase something fist but i really got it free cause i got ecb on it

  19. weyanna73

The kids did a test run on the Halloween costumes. Nice to get the kids ready before halloween to know we are ready. They received a little treat bag with glow stick and two candies. Free photo of all three kids. As a bonus I met up with a sweet friend I haven’t seen in a long time.

We went to cvs in Dunkirk,Md. They told my daughter that her costume was not a real costume so they refused to give her anything at all. She was wearing a glow in the dark shirt , had her hair teased and green and black eyeliner smeared all under her eyes. she was going for a zombie sort of look. The cashier thought it was not up to CVS costume standards. The lady behind us put her little girl in PJ’s and she got one. I will not shop at this store again. They put a new twist on BAD customer service.

    • Mrspurple

Awe man, I feel so bad for your daughter… She put the effort into getting dressed and going to the store, I would write to CVS, they should have a talk with the store and hopefully avoid other people having bad experiences like that.

  21. toryaslim822

Other than the treat bags our CVS was giving out cookies, cupcakes and apple cider. My toddler loved, especially the extra attention from the cashiers and pharmacist cooing over him. 🙂

  22. Michelle

They were really nice about it. Guess they didn’t get a lot of kids ..they took their time. My son didn’t want to smile .but its ok he’ll love the glow sticks

  23. rae

we went at 2 and were only the second people to come in! the clerk was super sweet and took about 6 shots of our little dragons – they both got gift bags – no purchase required, but i went ahead and grabbed some of my weekly list. gainesville, FL, main st cvs was AWESOME! I can’t believe some of the comments above! just goes to show the difference customer service can make!! we thanked the “CVS ambassador” as her nametag said, profusely.

  24. Nika

My store was only doing it from 12pm-1pm. I simply lucked out on the time. I was a little early. With the goodie bag the kids were given, & the coupon machine (I got a $1.50 ECB) when I went back this evening to pick up the picture… I snagged a cheap bottle of wine, the large bag of hersheys kit kats (with the $5.00 off coupon) & my son’s halloween picture for $3.02! My favorite trip to CVS yet!

  25. MissyO316

We went today to lour local CVS and did not need to make a purchase to get the picture and free goodie bag for our son…he also enjoyed trying on his “Venom” costume…. I had some ECB and went ahead and got two Halloween ceramics, a gallon of milk, and pack of Sprees…all for 19 cents!! Also the store clerk, who happens to be in the same grade as my older son, was dressed up as well!! Thanks Gabby for making our visit special!!

  26. Kathy

I was going there anyway, so I took my daughter with me. I purchased over $20.00 in items and the lady at the register didn’t even say anything to my daughter, who was in her costume. So then I told my daughter I guess you have to ask for your treat. She gave her 3 little pieces of Jolly Rancher candy, are you kidding me. I called before I went too, because I was going to a different store then usual. I guess I should stick with my regular CVS.

  27. Heather

We had a great experience! We only got 1 treat bag for our whole family, however, one cashier was in costume taking pictures. They even set up a little corner with an orange backdrop and some pumpkins and other items from their Halloween aisle. I had a $1 ECB from a previous trip so I bought a bag of candy corn and got $0.99 ECB back. The manager suggested I use the coupon from the gift pack for $5 off a bag of Hershey candy, plus my $0.99 ECB, to get a free bag of candy. So, we got 3 suckers (they gave 1 to each of my kids), the gift pack, a bag of candy corn, and a big bag of Hershey snack sized candies for $0.11 (tax on the Hersheys)! I HEART CVS 🙂

  28. Lee

I used the $5 Hershey’s coupon from the Halloween gift pack to get a 20.1 oz. bag of Hershey’s Kit Kit bars. It beeped, and the cashier had to get manager’s approval. Still worth it to get a huge bag of my family’s favorite chocolate for 99 cents.

  29. a

our awesome cvs day went like this: each of the boys got their own picture, treat bag with coupons (for mom), and an extra baggie with a few more pieces of candy. The pictures were free and the cashier didn’t even use the “free 5×7” treat bag coupon to pay for them! I used two of the $5 off hershey 19oz or larger coupons enclosed in the boys’ treat bags to buy 4 of the Twizzlers twists 22oz that are on sale “4 for $10 with 3 eb”. So, we paid nothing ($0!) and got: toys, candy, and pictures for the boys, and 2 free 5×7 coupons, two $5 off costume coupons, two other candy coupons, 4 huge bags of twizzlers and 3 eb for mom. the coupons do say one coupon per customer, but I didn’t realize it until later when i read the small print. the cashier pushed it through even though the register beeped for the second coupon.

My suggestions to cvs: it makes sense to give each child their own treat bag, and if there is more than one child in a family, then mom should be able to use all the coupons, not just one of each kind. for example, even though I have two kids, the register would only let me use one of the free 5×7 coupons to get their Halloween picture printed!

Don’t get me wrong, I appreciate what cvs did. I just think that if you’re going to do something like this, you should do your best to do it right. only giving one treat bag per family (as some have reported) as opposed to one treat bag per child is ridiculous.

  30. Em

My CVS runs this event the whole day, from store open to close. We got free treats and our free 5*7 photo. Did not open thevtreat bag until we got home, so happy to find the coupons that come with it! I also did the Glad deal, paid $4.38 for 3 sensible spray kit and got $4ECB. My hubby even joked that my daughter and I just “robbed” CVS. :p

  31. Kelly Grant

Called mine yesterday to see about it, they said you had to buy something for the gift pack so we didn’t go.

  32. Mandy

We had a blast for this! We had to make some purchases anyway so it made sense. Besides, buying a pack of gum or using your coupons shouldn’t be a big deal.

Batman took a picture and got a goody bag! We used the battery coupon along with a BOGO sale and the candy coupon along with the 4/$10 + $3ECB. All in all, it was well worth the trip I waited a day to make!
