$0.40/1 Progresso Broth Coupon (No Size Restrictions)
Yeah! Coupons.com just released a great coupon valid for $0.40 off any Progresso Broth (no size restrictions!). Use zip code 83605 if you are having trouble finding this coupon. If your store doubles, you should be able to snatch up some broth on the cheap.
Do any of you have any great (and fairly simple) homemade soup recipes to share?!
(Thanks, A Thrifty Mom!)
I buy this product all the time and I don’t believe they offer it as a can, but only in a 32 oz carton.

Still a nice coupon though since winter is coming and I use this for a lot of holiday recipes.
Darn! I was thinking that they sold the cans of broth as well?! Thanks for catching this…I just updated the post. 😀
i believe that they do sell the cans it depends on the store tho. i have one sitting in my pantry right now
they do! i usually buy the carton and a can when i make homemade chicken noodle soup, which my husband loves it so i can just make a huge thing of it and its lunch all week for him so this will save some money! 🙂
I found a recipe for “Three Onion Soup” from a famous restaurant’s website. I tweeked the recipe to ingredients I easily find in my pantry. The different types of pasta makes the soup more filling because of the interesting textures.
2 boxes of chicken or beef broth
1 whole celery
1 sweet onion
1 red onion
optional: 1 or 2 peeled potato (cut into pieces)
1 peeled and chopped carrot
Place all the ingredients into crockpot until vegetables are cooked through.
Before ready to serve: Boil until al dente – spaghetti broken into 2 inch pieces.
Add a second pasta of your choice: elbow, penne, egg noodle, frozen noodles.
If using beef broth: cut string cheese into small cubes in each bowl of soup for a *mock* french onion soup. Toss in a few cubes of crutons.
If you have broth leftover, I put the unused pasta (s) into the broth when storing in the refidgerator
I thought it might be confusing “put the unused pasta (s) in the leftover broth” It is the unused “cooked” pasta. It does absorb some of the liquid and may seem a little close to stew but I like that
Here’s one for you I got from Parade magazine a few weeks ago – delicious and super easy:
In dutch oven, brown 4 floured, salted and peppered chicken breasts or pieces in 1/4 stick butter (I use boneless chicken breasts)
Meanwhile, slice 4-5 potatoes in 1/2-inch slices
Slice 2 onions in 1/2-inch slices
Layer the potatoes and onions over the browned chicken
Add 1 Tbsp paprika, salt and pepper to taste, 3/4 grated cheese (I use Romano – recipe calls for Pecorino Romano but that is more expensive).
Add 3/4 cup dry sherry and 1-1/2 cups chicken broth.
Cover and simmer for 2 hours, stirring occasionally.
Sorry – It’s not really a soup but it is a great way to use chicken broth!
Target has a coupon for I think it was 1.00 off two.
I have a great broth/stock recipe! it’s actually Ina gartens but I tried it last year and it’s so simple (and cheap!)
So basically I make a roast lemon whole chicken…. The chicken reciPe is here too… U guys should try it it’s super yummy
Anyways so after I make the chicken, we eat dinner… Then I take all the chicken off the “carcass” (such a gross word btw) and throw the carcass in a big ol pot of water. And then toss in a whole garlic (unpeeled)… Carrots, celery onion parsley basically anything root vegetabley u have in ur fridge.
My favorite part is u just pop in a movie and let it boil away for a couple hours. This provides u with the yummiest stock and it’s sooooo much better than the store bought stuff 🙂 geez this was the longest comment ever.
