  1. Rylie

The Vanilla Visa Gift card is a pretty good deal! 😀

  2. ElyMommy

Just curious, do we know for sure the Visa deal will trigger the Up? I’m just worried that maybe only the activation fee counted towards the reward :/

    • Parmy

See my comment below. It worked for me and I’m in the San Diego area.

      • ElyMommy

        Awesome, thanks!

    • Erin

Worked for me in SC. 🙂

    • Zee

I bought the Visa Vanilla card, got the $20 reward plus used the card almost immediately at Safeway, zero problems using it. 🙂

      • Pam

It’s no longer being accepted!! I’m so frustrated with Rite Aid! They must have “heard” about how consumers are making money with the Visa card deal so their was a sign at my Rite Aid saying they inadvertently included the Vanilla Visa card in their advertisement but they are not included. So frustrating!! Glad you got in on it though!! 🙂

  3. kelly

the fusion proglide razor coupon is 5 $ off razor AND cartridges.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Thanks Kelly! Just updated the deal scenario. 😀

    • Ana

Ooops, I used this at CVS for cartidges only. It was a really confusing coupon the way it was written. It scanned without problems at CVS… I hope my store doesn’t hate me!

  4. jewel

just a heads up to people. I saw on another board someone mention that these Vanilla Visa cards have lots of problems. So I did my research and before you buy I suggest you do as well. I typed into Yahoo, ‘vanilla visa complaints’ and based on what I read I will not take a chance with that kind of money just to make a couple bucks!

    • jen p

I won’t be taking advantage of the Vanilla Visa card deal either after looking at the number of people who have had problems. Thanks for the heads up!

    • julie

Thanks for the heads up. I was planning on doing this deal but now I will be passing. I don’t want to be out $100.

    • Brittany Potts

I don’t know about other stores, but I work at Rite Aid and what alot of people don’t realize about those gift cards is that if you are buying more than what the card is worth, the cashier has to put in the amount that is on your card. Say you had a $20 left on your gift card, but you are purchasing $23.00 dollars worth of stuff. If the cashier just hits the credit key, it will decline your card. You have to tell them how much is left on it and they would input $20 and then the credit key and then it will work. You don’t have to spend it all at once. I have worked in retail for 4 years and never had someone have a problem with their gift card besides this one. The other thing you have to keep in mind is some stores have a waiting period for the card to activate and RA is one of them if you call vanilla visa they will tell you that.

  5. Anna

I thought the Gillette Fusion coupon was $5 off when you buy cartridges? I really hope I’m wrong!

    • tilla ham

      you are unfortunately correct:)

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Thanks Anna! I just updated the deal scenario. 😀

  6. AnnieL

When does the Jan. video comes out? I’m still seeing Dec.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

The January Video Values will be available to watch and print beginning tomorrow, January 1st. So be sure to watch the rest of the December Video Values by the end of tonight, December 31st. 😀

  7. Parmy

I just purchased the Vanilla Visa gift card and received the $20 Up reward. I then took the gift card to my local MCX (Marine Corps Exchange) and used the entire gift card with no problems. Definitely worth it to me!

    • Parmy

Is there a limit on the Resolution rewards? I asked they clerk but she didn’t know nor did it specify on the ad.

      • janiceg531

From what I have read on other sites, there is a limit of one.

    • terri

from reading the complaints, it looks as if you have to use in in one use, you got lucky. it looks like a lot of people have a hard time if they split up their uses.

      • Amber

So are you saying you have to use this gift card in one use? On their site it looks like it is just like any other kind of gift card and you can use it until it’s gone.

    • Kristy

I also bought the $100 vanilla visa & received the $20 UPR. I then went online & paid $100 towards my cell phone bill. I think this is a great deal & like most of these prepaid cards as long as you read the info on the vanilla visa website & follow their suggestions, you should be fine.

      • Wendy

Great tip! My husband and I are going to try it this week after we get paid.

        • Kristy

Just make sure you go on the Vanilla visa website & register a zip code for your card when you get it:)

  8. Ashley

thanks collin 🙂 Great deals to be had this week. Have a Happy, Healthy and Peaceful New Year Collin! 😀

    • Ashley

      to all you hip2savers too!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Thanks Ashley! You too! 😀

  9. genie

Will the $1 Vicks cpn found in the 1/1pg work with the vaporizer deal?

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Yep, it should. I just added it. Thanks! 😀

    • Samantha

I tried to use the $1/1 Vicks coupon today on the Vaporizer deal. It beeped and the cashier/manager wouldn’t accept it. I guess it will depend on your store and the cashier you get!

      • Rebeca

Where are the Vicks nightlight located? with the rest of the humidifiers?

  10. Dolly

off topic – I have following 2 coupons:
    1) Free can of 12.4 oz of Parent’s Choice Advantage infant formula or free can of 12.9 oz Parent’s Choice Premium infant formula or $9.00 off any Parent’s Choice infant formula – Expires on 01/31/12
    2) Free can (up to $1.39) of Purina Pro Plan (any variety)

Please email me at neetugupta56@yahoo.com if you want to trade the above with $5 Amazon.com code or other coupons

  11. save4sure

thanks for your hard work Collin, and Happy New Year.

  12. Kathy

wondering if I can use the $1/1 Vicks product c from the 1/1 P&G with the Vicks nightlight deal. I don’t think my Rite Aid adjusts down, but if I use 1, that makes them $0.99 for both, right?
P.S. Happy New Year… thanks, Collin, for all you’ve done to help our family this year.

    • terri

you should be able to use 2 mc’s for this, so sure!

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Just added the $1/1 Vicks coupon from the 1/1 PG to the deal scenario. Thanks!

  13. Andrea

I cannot locate that January video value coupon for the Centrum vitamins. are those not available until tomorrow?

  14. Lynda

i just want to say I have been using the vanilla cards for going on 3 years now and have never had a problem with them. I use them to purchase item on the net. so this will be great for me… hubby bday is in the first part of jan and he uses them to play games on the net…

  15. Grace

If you have a $3 coupon and an item is selling for $1, will you get overage at Rite Aid or will they not accept it or will they adjust it? Thanks!

    • Tyffany Gray

No, Rite Aid does not accept overage. The coupon will need to be adjusted down.

      • Amanda

Not sure that is true everywhere. My store has never adjusted a coupon down in value.

    • H

      Depends on the Rite Aid.

      • lynette

It does depend on the store. Ours gives overage. There are stipulations: You cannot get money back, and the overage cannot cover tax. They have never adjusted down for me, but I have been asked to add a pack of gum or a candy bar to take up the rest of the overage.

  16. Lori

I tried to print the Dove coupon, but it says the campaign is over. 🙁

  17. Kara

Just an FYI about the Vanilla Visa cards. My husband uses these cards every year to purchase my Christmas presents. He makes multiple transactions with one card over a two month period. You have to make sure you read the back of the card. There are two different types of prepaid cards. One of the cards will charge you a one time activation fee (6.95 for a $100) and the other one will charge an activation fee and a monthly fee. If you use the card online, you must activate your card on their website and enter your zip code or the card will be declined.

  18. Chellsy

The Colgate Optic White January Video Value coupon is for an Optic White toothbrush even though the video is for the toothpaste. I just printed it.

    • Barbara Yox

glad someone else saw that too. Can’t even use the sensitive pro relief coupon since it’s not included in the sale.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Thanks Chellsy and Barbara! Just updated the deal scenario as you can snag a Colgate Optic White Toothbrush for FREE! 😀

      • Shelley

I was just at Rite Aid and spoke to the manager about this specific coupon. A wierd one, ha!? The video was for Optic White toothpaste and when you went to print it, it read Colgate Total – Optic White toothpaste. The crazy thing is when you printed it, the coupon pictured a toothbrush and read a toothbrush. I think that it was a type error on the coupon as it scanned perfectly fine .. maybe it can be used on either though. If it does not work on the toothbrush .. I think that they would override it since that is what it pictures and says.

It looks like there is a January Video Value for the Nicorette Gum or Lozenges. There is also a January Video Value for NicoDerm CQ Patch. From what I can tell the counts match those it the ad. That would make the deal for those a little better. Hoping that 2012 will be the year that my husband finally quits chewing tabacco. 🙂

    • Danielle

THANK YOU! My dad has been smoking since he was 13. His New Years Reso is to finally QUIT smoking. He smokes up to a pack a day and he put on a NicodermCQ patch last night as he does not want to smoke a cigg in 2012! I just printed the patch coupon!!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Thanks Ebony! Just updated the deal scenario. 😀

    • Ashley

good luck to you guys and your family members quitting smoking! I know it’s hard but they can do it!!! 😀

      • Ebony

Thank you so much for the encouragement! 🙂

    • angela

anyone willing to pass on their $15/1 Nicorette Q from 1/1/ RP – mine didn’t have it in there and would love to take advantage of this deal! – email me at angela.wish @ gmail.com if you wouldnt mind!

      • angela

I have had a few hip2savers send me emails – thanks for all the help with this coupon! I am set! 🙂 I love this site and all the helpful people!

  20. Danielle

I just printed the January Video Value coupon for the $1 off Glucerna, can I send it to my Grandma and she use it? Or do I have to redeem it because it has my name printed on it? TIA

    • Margaret

I have redeemed my mother’s vv coupons with no problem.

  21. susan

    Hi Collin-
Happy New Year!! There is a -2/1 Almay MQ in SS 1/1…. couldn’t that be applied to the mascara??? $6.99
    -2.00 (mq)
    -2.00 (scr)
    ————
    = $1.99

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Thanks Susan! This must be a regional coupon, but I have added it to the deal scenario. 😀

      • katee

i got it in eastern massachusetts!

  22. Melissa

Use the Skittles coupon with caution! I just used mine and instead of taking off .50 cents, it took off $5.00! I had to have it corrected because I felt guilty and it was a mess!

  23. Greta

I just had to ask, has anyone used their $.50/1 Skittles single serve video values coupon yet? I thought my total was a little off after my shopping trip this morning but wasn’t going to hold up the other customers trying to figure it out there. So I looked when I got home, my $0.50 coupon rang up as $5.00 off!!! It scanned just fine, the cashier had no part in this! I can’t believe it, I don’t know what I should do???!

    • Melissa

I took my receipt back and had it corrected…

  24. Shelley

Happy New Year’s !! Thanks for all you do Collin !!

A question since I can not find the answer on the Rite Aid site nor does the store know. What is the Savings Star Account under the Playtex Tampons since it makes a difference of a $1.00 ?

Also for the Resolution rewards, is the value of the items added up before or after coupons. I think it is before coupons but one of the store clerks thought after coupons.

The Detroit Free Press only had 4 inserts instead of 5. I still purchased 4 copies this week. I will be busy collating today.

    • Susan

Savings Star is not a Rite Aid program (like UPs or Wellness or Video Values). It is linked to RiteAid and many other drug/grocery stores. Click on Collin’s link to learn more,

      • Shelley

Thanks Susan !:) No wonder they were a little confused in the store too.

      • Shelley

Where do I find the Collin’s link to find out about the Savings Star? I can not find it, thanks.

        • Brenda

I posted this down below with your other comment, but just in case you don’t see it.

          Shelley,
If you go to the top of the page and click on the coupons tab, scroll down to the saving star link. It should bring up all of the posts Colin has made about them.

          • Shelley

Thanks so much for Brenda for your comment. I found it exactly where you said and will read up on it. Even the most experienced couponer is always learning something new !! Thanks again!:)

  25. Kasia

I live in PA and bought 2 newspapers. I dont have Nivea coupons. I which insert they should be?

    • Greta

I live in PA as well and all of my papers DID have the Nivea coupons. They were in the RP! Just curious but what part of PA?

  26. Danielle

How does the $5 single check rebate work for the nicorette? does it print out? TIA

  27. Melissa

I had to delay my trip to Rite Aid today because I had a problem with my printer when I tried to print my adperk coupons! =(

Hope Rite Aid will be able to reissue them to me!
I was looking forward to hitting RA this week!

    • Jay

I’ve had this happen a couple of times and they always just reactivate your coupons that didn’t print. It may take up to 2 weeks, but they’ve always fixed it.

  28. Danielle

Also, there is a B1G1 FREE Slimfast 4pack in 1/1 SS paper 🙂

  29. Tiffany

The nivea coupons weren’t in the bay area newspapers either. We just got 4 inserts.:(

  30. Lesley

Wow, did anyone use their Skittles coupon? Mine took $5.00 off not 50 cents!

    • Greta

      Mine too!

    • MICHELLE

      Mine did too! Awesome!

      • jenn

        wouldnt there be overages then??

    • Janelle

Yes, mine took $5 off too, but I told them and they corrected it down to the correct amount, .50. To me, that would be wrong to accept it. If you pointed it out to them and they said it was okay, that would be different. JMO.

      • Melissa

        Good job! Me too!

  31. Sherron

For the L’Oreal deal buy one get one half off. Can I do this?

I have two coupons from facebook (two different computers and accounts) for $5.00 of of L’Oreal Double Extend Mascara. Can I use two of these?

    • nancy

If the coupon itself doesn’t say Limit One Coupon Per Transaction or Customer you can use them on a Buy One Get One Half Off sale.

You might be confused because Rite Aid doesn’t take coupons on free items like in the case of a Buy One Get One Free sale. When you have a Buy One Get One free sale you can only use one coupon.

But I’m not sure if the deal is buy one get one half off on cosmetics. In my ad it says skincare or sun care. Check your ad or store to make sure it’s on sale then buy it. I got a sneak peek at next week’s ad and it looks like L’Oreal Cosmetic will be BOGO 50% off.

    • nancy

Silly me, I found BOGO 50% off on L’Oreal Cosmetic in the ad. It is on the last page of the ad not with the other cosmetic or skincare. I’m so silly.

I looked at my coupon and on the bottom it says Limit one per costumer. You won’t be able to use them in the same transaction. Depending on your cashier, they may or may not let you use both coupon even on different transaction. If you did want to use both, you maybe just want to use them on separate shopping trips or at another store. Hope that helps. Good luck!

  32. Danielle

I bought 2 4packs of Slimfast meal drinks (sale 2/$10), 1 gallon of milk ($3.19), 1 colgate optic toothbrush (sale $3.49), 1 can of diced tomatos ($1), 1 pack of skittles blenders (99cents), and used B1G1 free slimfast from todays paper, 1 RiteAid $3 off colgate optic toothbrush coupon and 1 75cents manufactur coupon, and 1 50cent off Skittles coupon and ended up paying $4.48!! YAYY! Thanks, Collin!

  33. nancy

Silly me, I found BOGO 50% off on L’Oreal Cosmetic in the ad. It is on the last page of the ad not with the other cosmetic or skincare. I’m so silly. I hope my comment helps you Sherron. Good luck!

  34. Alla

I thought I could not use the $15.00 Manif. coupon at RA for Nicorette because their policy states the higest manif. coupon they accept is $5.00 off an item. Please correct me if I am wrong. This is an awesome deal for niccorete. Would work for my dh’s new year resolution if I can get these at RA today.

    • Ebony

It worked great for me this morning. I used two of them in the same tranaction. I believe that they won’t accept printed coupons over $5.00.

    • Edie

This only applies to internet printed coupons. 🙂 So the $15/1 from the insert should work just fine.

      • Alla

        Thanks Ebony & Edie,
I went there in the evening with my dh and it worked perfectly fine. I had to go through their coupon policy once again and only then it clicked. Well, getting old I guess, can’t help it. But dh was really happy for them. Gonna work on his resolution 😉 Thanks guys 🙂

HELP!!! I know this is OT… but is anyone else missing the December Video Values from their account? I only have a few showing for December, and I even watched the one for $.10 off the grape juice! I’m having a minor panic attack because I logged in to print the Vicks coupon, and it’s not there. I did e-mail adperks, but I’ve never had an issue and am wondering if it’s just me or anyone else??? =/

    • Kabby

Have you tried scolling down with the little arrow on the side…once before I did not realize the page scrolled down..take a peek.

    • Rebeca

I cant find it either and some other rewards are gone too. Wondering if they have expired? I emailed Rite Aid yesterday, waiting for their reply.

  36. Hvy

    I believe printable coupons have a $5 max…

  37. ElyMommy

Just bought the $100 Vanilla Visa and didn’t get an UP reward 🙁

    • Parmy

You should ask for a Manager, as the ad clearly states the Vanilla Visa card is a qualifying item.

  38. fallon

I cant find the .75 off mq for colgate optic white tooth brush anywhere in any of the ss. I’m in New Jersey, is it regional only maybe?

    • Danielle

Oh bummer 🙁 I’m in California and I had them in mine SS.

      • Danielle

        My* not mine

  39. fallon

I mean in certain regions only

  40. Shelley

Where do I find the Collin’s link to find out about the Savings Star? I can not find it, thanks. I am really interested to find out about his program since it is related to more stores than one.

    • Brenda

      Shelley,
If you go to the top of the page and click on the coupons tab, scroll down to the saving star link. It should bring up all of the posts Colin has made about them.

  41. Mary

HELP! I went to Rite Aid to buy the Centrum ProNutrients Fruit & Veggie vitamins–I tried to use the $5/1 coupon from the 1/1 RP insert and they wouldn’t accept it. They said that they can’t accept coupons with those types of barcodes. I am super confused—does anyone else have these problems?

    • Margaret

Mine woudn’t scan, but my rite aid had no problem doing it manually.

    • nephthys

Many months ago the registers should have been coded to accept the new type of barcode (all coupons will only have that style in the future) So it sounds like they didn’t do that at that store (I know since I personally coded the registers at my store)

      • Greta

I have several local Rite Aids that I use, at some they scan at some they don’t. The one I went to yesterday to do that same deal had o manually put them in but it wasn’t a problem!

        • kimber bakos

Me too. I love to save on Rite Aids sales.

  42. Kinsey

Did anyone else have a problem with their discount applying? My 10% didn’t come off. I reached 500 points last week, which means I should have recieved a 10% discount today right? Since the discount carries over?

    • nephthys

Did you purchase regular priced items or just sale? The discount only applies to the regular price (so you get whatever is the better deal, the sale or your discount)

  43. H

I work at a rite aid, and they put out a disclaimer stating the vanilla visa is not supposed to be part of the resolution rewards. So if you already got the $20 +UP that’s great! For those of you who did not… you probably won’t now. Sorry :/

  44. Cameron

I bought the $100 vanilla visa & received the $20 UPR. I tried to get another one thinking that it would print another UPR since it didn’t have a limit in the ad but it didn’t. I just wanted to give everyone a heads up.

  45. Heather

I just called CS about my visa not printing at 8:30 am Sunday morning and I asked was it a glitch or was it not suppose to be in the ad altogether and they are pulling tge deal? She said she was told it’s a glitch not printing.

So who knows what the deal is but that is what I was just told by CS.

    • Cameron

I called the customer service this morning and could not get any where with them also. They act like they didn’t care or even try to make it right. I got my $20.00 ups yesterday but when I tried to do it again it didn’t print. It didn’t say anywhere that it was a limit of 1 so I figured that you could do it more than once.

      • Carrie

It says when you buy $100 or MORE, that implies it will only print once.

  46. britt

anyone know the zip code to use to get the $5 pronutriuents coupon from coupons.com

  47. Kayla

I work at rite aid and we just put up a disclaimer on the vanilla visa gift cards. They ARE NOT part of the resolution rewards anymore.

    • Sally

      @Kayla
That is incredibly poor customer service to take away a deal that way.
      What a crappy company!!!!!! T

  48. semiextremecouponer

Is this another SCR on the ProNutrients? I did one in December so can I do this one as well?

  49. Cathy

Guess I should have done the Visa deal yesterday. Don’t know why they had to pull it. I did the same type of deal in December, buy $50 home repair gift card get $10 up. The deals have been so lame at rite aid lately I’m ready to jump ship completely to CVS. Bummer Rite Aid!
