Grocery Deals Coming Soon: Hip Helpers Needed
Ever since I started Hip2Save (back in 2008!), I have always been interested in posting regular grocery store deals for my readers. My desire has been (and IS!) for Hip2Save to be your one-stop-site for the best grocery store deals/match-ups, online bargains, freebies, deals, and much more! However, with that being said, writing and posting all of the freebies, coupons, samples and weekly drugstore match-ups on Hip2Save literally takes up all of my time (and my sidekicks!).
This is just a small representation of the grocery store chains in the U.S.!
So this is where YOU come in to the picture! 😀 In order to successfully post regular grocery store deals from all around the U.S. on a regular basis, I am looking for a select group of passionate Hip2Savers to get involved and become “Hip Helpers.” As a Hip Helper, you will be rewarded for your time with goodies, packages, and other incentives on a regular basis (more information on the rewards will be sent to the individually selected readers).
Requirements of Hip Helpers:
* Know how to use coupons correctly
* Are familiar with your grocery store’s coupon policy
* Have good computer skills, a working computer, and Internet access
* Have a working camera and/or mobile phone with internet capabilities
* Are passionate about couponing and frugal living
* Are available and willing to write up the full weekly ad with coupon match-ups (which can be extensive and time consuming!). Click here for an example of a Weekly match-up.
* Are willing to stop by your local grocery store on a regular basis to look for unadvertised sales and clearance finds (preferably at least once a week)
* Are willing to take time to answer comments and questions on the weekly match-up posts.
If you are interested, please complete the survey found here (or click on the Grocery Cart above). Within one week, I will read through all of the survey entries and pick 2-4 readers to become “Hip Helpers”. These 2-4 readers will essentially be the guinea pigs for this new idea. If all goes well, I plan to continue to add more and more grocery store match-ups so that I cover most of the stores across the United States.

http://Www.mashupmom.com is a site in Chicagoland, and she does jewel matchups! the matchups are listed differently than H2S, but are great! She also lists target deals, which can vary a lot by region. Hth!

Until Collin gets to this area, jillcataldo dot com does Jewel and Dominick’s for the Chicagoland area. Highly ethical and is regularly featured on WGN, FOX morning shows. She also has a weekly national newspaper column on couponing.
DEFINITELY Jewel!!!! I always feel so left out when people in small towns with low cost of living get all the GREAT deals, but nobody does any features on stores that are in high cost of living areas! Wish I had time to be your Jewel Hip Helper – that would SO be something I’d love to do!

I shop at Jewel and Dominicks (more-so Dominicks because I LOVE the just-4-u deals!) I do my own match-ups for these each week based on my grocery needs! That being said, maybe I could do a full match-up 🙂 I think I will sign up to help!
Id love the match ups for Berkots and Brookhaven!!! They are 4 stores chains, just little mom and pop chains but often have great deals!

I’d LOVE if someone from the northeast did Price Chopper. I wish I could, I just don’t have the time… But bc Hip2Save is so awesome, I do coupon a little by using Collin’s Rite Aid, CVS, Target deals when available 🙂

I so wish I could devote the time to help you with this! The ONLY reason I use other blogs is for grocery match ups!!! Hopefully you’ll be able to find someone in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia to do Farm Fresh matchups for you too- they double dollar coupons EVERY Wed and about ever 4-6 weeks do a Super double 3 day promo where they double coupons up to AND including 2 dollars!!! Can’t wait!

I also live in HR and the FF matchups are very useful…to the other poster (Valerie) The College of W and M is in Williamsburg about 45 min to an hour away from “Hampton Roads” depending on 64 traffic but I guess that is still considered close.
I love Farm Fresh too, I actually stopped shopping at Walmart, too much hassle with their coupon policy; and find better deals at FF and Harris Teeter! I also live in the Hampton Roads area, I wish I could do this, but with my work & school schedule, I can only check this site once a day…=D
I am originally from Hampton Roads, and always make it a point to hit the FF salad bar when i’m visiting my family. It is THE best! I know my mom would love to see coupon matchups for them.

My daughter and I love the Harris Teeter stores here. With the double coupons everyday, super doubles or triples about every six weeks along with so many B1G1 bargains everyweek; we look forward to our Wednesday shopping trips. We also have had great experience with customer service. A great perk is that we don’t have to unload our own shopping cart so that we can watch the registers. We have had good experiences with the Farm Fresh stores too, but overall, to they just seem a little higher than the other stores here. Their salad bars are the best though.

Love Winco too !!! That is where I do most of my shopping, and use my coupons where I can…. then I have a store in my town that I absoluetly love because they have a weekly coupon they put out for their store that is a great deal by itself and then I put a manifacture coupon with it and makes fabulous deals, and get everyone jeleous in the store of my great price I get for it, but the coupon they have is only one a week so not too much but I look forward each week to seeing what it ends up being and score big time !!!

We rarely double (if ever) up here! And I have yet to find a good blog. It’ll be awesome if Hip2Save becomes my one stop shop for that reason.

check out ladysavings.com she does match ups for Giant Eagle and Kroger. Hers and Hip2Save are the only ones I check out.

Another vote for Publix. They are the most coupon friendly store I’ve ever shopped. Customer service is tops at Publix.
I have TheSunshineShopper.com (https://thesunshineshopper.com) for Publix matchups. I post them under the Grocery Deals tab on my homepage. I live in west-central Florida and I started posting the ad on my own after seeing so many variations where Publix covers. I would go to the store and then find out that something wasn’t on sale in my area. Hopefully, other Publix shoppers will find my ad-matchups and posts helpful. Which, by the way, Publix has a new program that they are introducing in this week’s ad. It is called The Best Meals Happen at Home. Apparently, you can sign up to receive weekly coupon and recipe emails, featuring such brands as Unilever, General Mills and Campbell’s.
Ah..so wish I could be a Hip Helper but with a 8 month old and a 9 yr old i don’t know how the day flies !!
Meijer is big here in MI and the match-ups I’m able to find so far aren’t so good, I’d love to see some on H2S. 🙂

I agree she does do good Meijer matchups but some of the other stores are not so good. I wonder if those are stores she doesn’t personally shop at so they don’t get as much attention or if she has a helper do those stores?

Thanks for all of the suggestions! I have been using bargainstobounty but I get frustrated with her match-ups because it seems like a lot of the links are dead or expired. Better than nothing to be sure, and she’s saved me some money so I can’t complain too much. 🙂 I’ll check out the other links – thanks for those. I’ve just gotten so spoiled by Collin’s match-ups for the drugstores that I suppose I’ve come to expect that level of perfection from all the sites.

Megan I loved my Meijer’s in Michigan I just moved to Upstate New York but I always help my friends out back home with the weekly ad match up! I would love to see meijer’s on here I really miss that store!

I agree – I would love to see some Tops deals. I do my own as well, but I’m afraid I wouldn’t consistently have the time to create weekly posts.
I love my local ACME store, but get frustrated when I don’t know how to coupon. They’ve always got some great deals which could be even better when paired with coupons!

I LOVE this idea. It’s not something that I could invest time in at this point in my life, but just a thought from the south-east. I know the map above is representative, but around here PUBLIX is the place to shop. Also, my understanding is that Piggly Wiggly’s are independently owned and most have different sales each week, so it may be hard to get a good write up from them on a large scale basis. Just my thoughts. Thanks for all you do!

I just have one questions, I know I have one site that I usually follow for my grocery matchups, as I know many other people probably do. How could we write out our post, without making it seems like we copied it from that other site? I know I would never copy deals from that site, but what if the deals match up and it looks as if someone does that? Just out of curiosity…..if that makes any sense at all?

Thanks for your concerns. Please note that I would want each Hip Helper to view the weekly ad, type out each deal, and find coupon matchups/scenarios for each sale item. Copying from any site will be strictly prohibited. As long as you aren’t copying deals and are putting forth effort to make the deal matchups and scenarios unique, you’ll do a great job! 😀

Funny, I do this on a smaller scale for my friends/coworkers who shop at Dillons!! I travel to much right now to commit to helping but would love for someone to do this store!

Wonderful idea! Hip2save is already the best coupon blog. Adding more stores would make it the exponentially better! Some stores in my area that I would love to see covered are Sunflower Market, Trader Joes, Buy-Low, and several Mexican store chains that have good deals.

I live in Utah County, UT. Our county Walmarts double their coupons every Tuesday because a rival store (Ridleys) doubles. They’ve being doing this for almost a year now with no sign of stopping. It would be nice to have a weekly list sent out on Mondays with “double” deals. There is a HUUUUUUGE competition here for couponing. I know so many people who do it here. So having someone in Utah County might be a good idea. We also had all our Albertsons turn to @ Fresh Market. I haven’t seen any matchups for that store yet. Oh, we also have a Winco that is opening up down the street. There are 5 locations in Utah (kinda like a Food 4 Less) already.

Sorry, one more thing. Utah also have a grocery store called Maceys. We have over 10 locations in Utah. They have really good deals. I think even before Winco, Maceys might be addressed. Thanks!
I shop at HEB for my major grocery shopping, as they are generally cheaper for items at regular price. My issue with them is that to get their sale prices, you use one of their yellow coupons that will deduct the amount to get the sale price. However, they consider these to be manufacturer’s coupons and don’t let you use any other coupon with it. It seems wrong to me that they can be the manufacturer for all brands. So, HEB is not my coupon destination. For that I prefer Randall’s, where their store coupons can be stacked with a manufacturer’s coupon.
Agree with HEB. HEB is not a coupon destination when purchasing their sale items. Unfortunately, HEB is very dominant in central and south Texas and has caused a lot of the competition to go away. Luckily, I have a Super Target close by where I do my shopping. I refuse to go to Walmart and sometimes find a few things at Randall’s.
You can still find deals at HEB as they allow you to stack their B store coupons with manufacturer coupons.
Yes, not everything is a deal there, but you can find some hidden gems, especially when they do their P&G promotions with catalina offers!

Kroger would be great in the chicagoland area as many of the match ups already available online boast of better doubling policies. Chicagoland stores allow only 2 of the same coupon to be doubled (up to .50 cents). Because this store does allow doubling the deals you can realize are much greater than a store that does not double so it would be a great store to feature:). I barely have time to get to the deals you post but would be more than happy to write in deals as I find them:)
