Buy One Get one FREE Deals

I haven’t read it yet, but I am so excited I had to comment!! Yay Publix! Thank you Holly and Collin.

  2. Summer

so great!!!! Yeah- thanks for posting and for your hard work Holly and Collin!

  3. jl

I have not read entire list but just a heads up that most Publix(not Florida) when they have a B1G1 you do not have to get two. Each item rings up half price. For example reguler price is $5.00 the b1g1 price for 1 item will be $2.50. Some regions this is not true so check with your local store. I seen other websites that list $5.00($2.50) First price for regular or for two items second in () is sale price ot for two. Not trying to be critical only helpful I LOVE this site. Now it is my one stop shop. LOL

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Woops! I am adding an important note above the BOGO scenarios now. 😀

      • jl

You are awesome plus my Publix in Nashville dbls coupons up to .50. I don’t think they do in Florida. Also every Publix has a list of competitor coupons they accept. Mine does not take Target but they do take whole foods and whole foods has coupons on thier website plus store booklets,

      • Laurel

Hi I live in Miami they do not double any coupons at any of our Publix ,and you have to buy both items for B1G1 .But you can get really great deals with store + MFR + B1G1= Great Deal I Love Publix ! and Hip2Save! Thank You

    • Laura

I’m in Nashville and it’s the same here.

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Yep… we actually have the scenarios listed correctly in the post, as reader Holly knew that in a Publix BOGO sale items ring up at 1/2 off. I just edited the post in a very confusing manner after she sent me the draft – so it was my bad. Anyway, I have updated… so hopefully it’s less confusing now! 🙂

        • Nora-Lee

Make sure you add though that in Florida (this sucks!!) you do have to buy two to get the promotion. I recommend your page to a lot of Florida readers, who could be confused by your post.

          Thanks 🙂

          • eric

yes in florida you have to buy 2 items to get the bogo deal

            • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Thanks for letting me know… I just updated the post with the Florida info.

  4. Marija

    Awesome! Thanks!

  5. Ashley57

In the future, could “hot” deals be highlighted in red, like when you do the CVS ad? Sometimes it is hard for me to know. Thanks!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Sure! I am going back to do that right now. 😀

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

All done! 🙂 Hope that helps!

        • Ashley57

          Yes! You are awesome!

  6. jl

I meant second price in() is for i item.

    Loyal Publix shopper here!!Yesterday I did a big shopping trip to get my $10 GC with a $100 Purchase> I spent $134 saved $166 I had $87 in coupons and I received 2 $10 Gift Cards
If you are new to Publix a few things to know:
You can Always us TWO coupons on BOGO sale items and you can also EITHER use a Store Coupon or Competitor Coupon stacked with Manufacturer Coupon.
Always look for coupon booklets at the spin carousel at the entrance of store and thru out the store as well and pull a few blinkie coupons while shopping if you see an Item you may buy later when it go’s on sale!!

I’m sure all of our savvy Hip shoppers will add saving tips too!! I’m so glad you have added this to your awesome site Collin!! Thanks!! 🙂

    • Tracy

If you don’t see coupons books around the store, ask customer service if they have coupons. My Publix keeps the coupons books at the customer service counter.

  13. GG

YAY!!! I we don’t even have Publix, but write this date down hipsters becuase i have a feeling this will be the answere to a trivia question one day!!! :o)

    • GG

geez sorry about the typos…i am excited!

  14. Shannon

Also, remember that many of the Publix stores in the Atlanta area accept Target coupons on top of manufacturer coupons.

  15. Laura

SOOO excited about this! Publix is by far my favorite place to shop and they have awesome deals!!!!

  16. Janice

Also note, that Florida does not double coupons 🙁 (probably the only state that doesn’t)

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

            • Tomoko

I just came back from my Publix and couldn’t find “All Stain” but seems like it is not included though.

    • LisaR

Yes I agree What is up with that!!! I Think because there is not enough competition!! I live in Jacksonville and all we have is Winn Dixie and Walmart there was a few Food Lions but they all closed!!
We don’t have the Penny Item either!! But a lot of times our BOGO’s are better deals b/c all of the coupon value goes to just the purchased item making both FREE plus overage a lot of times

      • Hip Helper Holly

I actually called Publix on this. They said that Florida does not double because there is no tax on food. Not sure how that made much of a difference, but that is what customer service told me.

        • Ashley57

          Thanks for the info Holly!

          • Sunshine Saver

Well, Ash now you know. We were just wondering about that earlier today! Thanks Holly! Another mystery solved…

        • Laurel

I have lived in Florida all my life and just assumed that there was not any tax on unprepared food everywhere. Do you have to pay tax on regular groceries? I am curious.

          • Hip helper Holly

Linda, in Georgia we do pay taxes on groceries 🙂

        • Laurel

Do you have to pay tax on regular groceries?

          • candice weaver

in Alabama we pay tax on EVERYTHING!! I think Fl. is the only southern state that doesn’t pay tax on food isn’t it??

            • Laura

TN pays tax on food too. I moved here last year from CA and had never heard of paying tax for groceries. I think it’s really dumb.

    • Angie

South GA (at least where I am) does not double either. I’ve never gotten a clear answer on why.

  20. Cia

hey there! LUNCHABLES actually have a coupon in smart source 1/22 for $1 off off of 2…making them .50 each!! 🙂

    • Hip helper Holly

awesome! Thanks for letting me know!

  21. Fawn

awesome. dont have a publix near me I live in the nw but so very excited that more stores are getting added and people are so willing to help out.

  22. Cia

also…PENNY ITEM this week: publix 2 liters!! 🙂

    • Hip Helper Holly

Cia, Thanks for mentioning this! Florida does not participate in the Penny Item so I left it off of the match up. But if you are in GA, AL, TN, SC, spend $10 in groceries and get Publix 2 liter of soda (your choice) for $.01! Coupon is located *somewhere* in your ad!

      • Cia

you’re welcome! i live in GA & i <3 publix !!! you are doing an awesome job btw holly!!

      • Kelly

coupon for penny item is NOT in the ad. Its located in the Wednesday newspaper. So, for example, in Birbingham, AL you will find the penny item coupon in the Wednesday edition Birmingham newspaper. You must have the coupon to get the item for a penny.

        • Cia

i know it varies by store- but my publix in southeast atlanta does not require that you have the coupon for the penny item!

        • Emilytwinmom

Same here, and I refuse to pay for a daily paper to throw away just to get the penny coupon. Blek!

          • saveandbesavvy

Emily, I went this morning and asked the store manager in Cumming, GA at 369. She said at that store you do not have to have the coupon. May be worth asking customer service when you go in 🙂

            • Laura

Yep! My store in TN does not require the coupon either. The cashier told me and I was really excited because I’ve never participated because I thought you needed the coupon and I only get the Sunday paper.

  23. Missy.

You know our Publix takes Targer, Harveys (Food Lion) and a few others as competitors. It might be neat to mention that somewhere, I know with the first deal the Kraft, if that target coupon is a store coupon, you can combine both of those (store and manufacturer) to get a great deal. I’m sure Holly knows, but remembering all the little details can get super overwhelming.

    • Hip Helper Holly

Thanks Missy! Its mentioned in the Publix shopping guide, but I will be sure to match it up like that in the future. I will ad those in as an after the fact for those Publix that dont match Target (and a bonus for those Publix that do!)

      • Missy

I know it’s a lot of work, to show which competitors coupons they take, b/c I know just b/c my Publix takes Target doesn’t mean the next one will. I am wondering if there is any way to link possible competitor coupons to the ad? I don’t know how to make it any easier realy, b/c there will be a lot of variations in competitors. But don’t add Target just for my sake 🙂

  24. Penny

The nearest Publix for me is a 90 minute drive sooo I plan my trips about every 3 weeks or so!! However the are opening a new Publix only 45 minutes from me in a few weeks. WOO HOO My publix accepts Target, Kroger and Food Lion coupons(FLIPS) so I am so glad you have started doing match ups. Thanks Collin!!!

  25. CT

I live in Florida and love Publix! Since we have to buy 2 products to do BOGO, I find the current listing of deals very confusing. It looks like a lot of them are listed as if they are single item sales. For all you Floridians, the plus side of our system is that when you have a BOGO coupon to use on a Publix BOGO deal, you walk away with 2 free items! Every Publix is different as far as which competitors coupons they take, so just ask at your customer service desk. Mine didn’t used to take Target, but they just started accepting them. Cha ching! 🙂

  26. candice

i have a b1 b1 coupon for temptation, not the 1 off one,can i still use that one and get them free?

    • Cathy

It depends on where you are located. Here in Georgia we have half-price bogos, so the coupon for me would be for that half-price. In Florida (like my Mom), she has TRUE bogo. That means that the first one rings up at full price and the second one rings up at 0. If you are in Florida, then you would get both packages for free. I hope that helps you out!

    • Hip Helper Holly

Candice. If you live in Florida, yes. The other states, no, your price will ring up as half price and you would be getting just the price of one off.

  27. guai

no publix here in Charlotte we are suppose to get one soon but its all the way closer to SC 🙁

  28. candice

yes i live in fl,thanks so much:)

  29. Danielle

This is a life saver! I’ve been waiting for this for a long time, glad to see publix is on here now! Yayyyyy!

  30. Jess

So when did Publix start doubling the coupons? I’m in FL and I never knew they doubled coupons.

    • Hip Helper Holly

      Jess,
Florida is the only state that does not double! (bummer!) I know for georgia, they have been doubling for a very long time.

      • Cindy Wagner

        Hip Helper Holly:

There are parts of Georgia that do not double too! Florida is not the only state that does not double!

What ad do you have? You say you did the match-ups based on the Atlanta ad. My Atlanta ad started today but I don’t show a few of the items listed in my ad that you have in your ad. I have the hard copy I got from the store today. I saw you said Kerns was a BOGO item. We love that stuff and got a ton when it was BOGO weeks ago, but it is not listed in the ad. What page is this listed on?

Also, how do you plan to list all of the regional differences? You don’t mention the AMX and the Gas Card Promos that are HUGE HUGE this week. How did you not talk about those? Are you only listing some of the ad, as there is a heck of a lot of it missing!

        • Hip Helper Holly

Cindy, I was able to only post some of the ad, when I matched up the whole thing the ad was HUGE! I had the promotions at the top of my ad that I submitted but didnt get put through I can paste them here:

Be on the lookout for these coupons in your flyer!

$10 off a $50 Gas Card wyb $25 in groceries

10 off a $100 American Express Gift Card wyb $25 in groceries ($5.95 Activation Fee)

As for the ad match-ups I got one paper from:

3480 Keith Bridge Rd, Cumming, GA 30041

          and another from

720 Dacula Rd, Dacula, GA 30019

          and lastly from

950 W Peachtree St NW, Atlanta, GA 30309

I also checked the online ads for Orlando, Atlanta, Knoxville, Charleston, and Birmingham to see if there were many differences. The regional differences will just have to be shown down here in the comment section.

As far as the nectar, I found it BOGO in store. I found it online as a listed BOGO. If you go to publix this week, please come back and let me know if it was in fact BOGO at your store too 🙂

As far as stores not doubling in Georgia. Georgia’s coupon policy states that they DO in fact double, I would ask a store manager why they do not when in fact their policy states they do.

Hopefully I answered all of your questions! 🙂

          • Hip Helper Holly

Also, Cindy, our ad doesnt start until tomorrow, are you sure you got tomorrows ad?

            • Cindy Wagner

I live in Athens and work in Gwinnett County. They both have the exact same ad except the one at home starts on Wednesday and the one at work starts on Thursday. No Kerns in either ad that I have in hand. What page is it listed on?

Not sure where you saw it “on line” since curbside is gone. I’m not trying to be difficult, but if it is indeed BOGO I want to have the ad in hand to take with me!

As for Georgia, the SE corner of Georgia DOES NOT have double coupons. They never have. Ask all of those Publix shoppers in Brunswicks. We have a vacation home in Jekyll Island and there is no doubling. This is widely known on most of the Publix blog sites.

            • Hip Helper Holly

Cindy, I would be more than happy to email you the ad links. You can send me an email to saveandbesavvy at gmail dot com.

          • Kristen

Sounds like you put a ton of work into this, Holly. Thanks for your hard work!! I know it will help lots of people save money 🙂

  31. Makayla

Ok so hee are some good hints. In Florida, Publix takes coupons for their competitor’s Target, Albertsons Winn Dixie, Save a lot. The competitors differ from store to stoe depending what other grocer is in your area. Check the register or the service desk for a list. This is great because you’ll either get save a lot online coupon, winn ixie ad coupons or target website coupons every so oten an wil have something to use. Although we don’t double, doesnt really matter because mot o the states that double is up to a dollar so. We do have tru BOGO which means we have to buyboth ites to get the deal but this also means one rings up at the fullprice and the second free allowing you to get two free items when you have a BOGO coupon which is sweet. Also if youre pregnant or have a bay/ toddler, sign up for their baby club. You will get Publix coupons by mail that you can stack with manufaturer’s coupons. I;ve also receive free prduct coupons such as alcohol, cocoa butter, etc. an the occasiona $1 off deli, milk or meat which are sweet and rarely ever seen at other markets. HTH

    • Hip Helper Holly

Indeed 🙂 I have posted the links to the sign ups for the baby club and more in the Publix shopping guide. Also, Publix looks at competitor coupons as Publix store coupons, so you can always match up a Food lion, Target, etc… coupon AND a manufacturer coupon!

      • Ashley

Love Publix baby club! Extra good Publix coupons to pair with your manufacturers coupons 🙂

  32. Anonymous

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU FOR adding Publix!!!! Now hip2save will be the ONLY site I will ever have to (and want to) use!!!

  33. Ashley

I love love Publix…just got back from shopping and saved over $48 🙂 and only spent $36.

For the regular Cheerios (yellow box)….do this deal:

    General Mills Cheerios 2/$5

Go here to print $1/ 1 box (Publix coupon): https://weeklyad.publix.com/publix/Default.aspx?action=detail&storeid=2595781&rapid=0&listingid=-2080977287&offerid=&cattreeid=5117976#itemdetail-page-skip

or under ‘coupons’ on the weekly ad at publix.com, or my store had these coupons on a display.

Print TWO of those coupons listed above. Plus use any Cheerios coupons you have. I used $1.75/2 that I had prior…..you can use $1.00/2 if you have it.

    So….2 boxes at $2.50 each= $5.00 – $2.00 (2 Publix coupons) – $1.75 (manufactures coupon)= $1.25/2 or $0.62 each!

Plus the Cheerios qualify for the $5.00 rebate offer on the back of the Publix ad 🙂

    • Hip Helper Holly

WTG Ashley! Thanks for the heads up!

    • Cindy Wagner

This is a HUGE misuse of the Publix coupon. The ad clearly states Cheerio’s that are 2/$5 are size 11.3 to 14 oz box yet the Publix $2 coupon is for size 16.2 – 21.6 oz. Therefore, it is not a match and a misuse of coupons.

      • Hip Helper Holly

Thanks for pointing that out guys 🙂

      • Ashley

Did not see that size difference….sorry for the mixup!

    • Angie

The $1 Publix Q is for 8.9 or 9-oz box, not 11.3 to 14 oz

  34. Linda

The link to the Publix Huggies wipes coupon is not working for me? Just getting a blank gray page 🙁 Also, the current manufacturer coupon is expiring 2/11 as noted, but there will be Huggies coupons in the paper 2/12 for anyone that can’t get their shopping done by Saturday

    • Hip Helper Holly

Linda, I tried it on 2 computers and it came through ok for me, I would be happy to email it to you. You can email me at saveandbesavvy@gmail.com and I can forward a .jpg image to you to see if that works 🙂

      • Linda

Thanks, I got it to work this morning….guess my computer was tired last night lol

  35. Ashley

Only some publix stores are 1/2 off sales, just a little fyi. Some stores are actual must buy one to get the other.

    • Ashley

I didn’t see the whole post before i commented my bad 😛

  36. Lori M

I never seriously shopped Publix till I started couponing. Now this is my primary store to shop; very couponer friendly! Today while shopping used my $1.25 red gold tomatoe coupon (from the facebook signup couple of weeks ago). They are on sale for 10/10. =$.25 MM!

Thanks Holly for hard work in the field of shopping!

    • Hip Helper Holly

Thanks for the heads up, Lori!

  37. Monica

Thanks so much holly and Collin for all you do! I live in Florida and publix great people and service has made it my favorite place to coupon at. I am a beginner, but the deals and help I have gotten on this site has been amazing so happy to now have publix here also. Thanks for your hard work ladies!!!

  38. Kila

Thanks Holly and Collin for the matchups. My family loves Publix!!!! I always thought Publix was too expensive before I started couponing-but once I learnt how to bargain shop and get in on the Bogo sales it is my favorite store. I have been able to save so much money and their friendly staff is priceless. Sign up for their mailing list online for the home magazines, they sometimes have money savings coupons and great recipes.

  39. Megan Vaughan

Does anyone have any extra temptation cat treat coupons. My cat loves these and we never got them in our paper. I am willing to trade coupons! My email is mkmashburn@crimson.ua.edu. Thanks!!!

  40. Amanda

Great job with the match-ups, Holly!

I don’t have a Publix nearby and just wanted to add that there are also insert coupons for the POM Arils deal from the 12-4 SS and 1-8 SS. Both are valid through 3/31 and are good on ANY Pom Wonderful product. HTH. Wish I had a Publix! I have been craving one since that Follow You Monday video! 🙂

  41. Anna

OMG I’m so excited I almost peed my pants!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  42. Barb

Thank you for adding Publix to your hip-to-save. I am in Florida for the winter months and Publix is where I shop. Would like to see you add Publix to your Popular Stores area so all of us can get to Publix quickly. Love your site Colleen, thanks Holly for your part in Publix.

  43. jackie

thank you Collin and Holly for the match ups! Im a loyal publix shopper in Miami FL and i would prefer publix than any other store! . I would like to add that thier is a *HOT* promo going on that i didnt see listed in the match up bu tsaw in my ad. The Gas gift card promo is back which is a publix q on the ad that you use to get 10 dollars off of a 50 dollar gas gift card WYB 25 dollars in groceries ( BEFORE COUPONS!). This is a must to me. Also, this is a perfect time to take advantage of any KY Jelly coupons you have and stack them with the publix green flyer q to get better than free ky jelly or and your sambazon q’s ( the yellow flyer states thier on sale for 2 for 4 so its free if you still have the 2 dollar q) and competitor q’s (mines takes whole foods, target, winndixie, and Doris). thier is also an AMEX gift card Promo, but to me the gas gift card deal is much more enticing since the AMEX has activation fees

    • Julie

The KY coupon in the green flyer is a manufacturer coupon and can NOT be combined to get free product. Just a heads up.

      • jackie

        your right. Nix that .

  44. Kelly

    Just a quick observation:

Florida you can’t just “buy one” like you have highlighted throughout the ad. In FL you buy one at full price the second at $0……in ALABAMA and maybe TN you can just buy one so it would be half price. So the way this write up is worded is confusing, for example:

Post Cereal: Pebbles, Churros, Alpha Bits, Honey Comb, or Golden Crisp, 9.5 14.75 oz, $3.25
    Buy 1 for $1.63
Use the $0.55/1 Post Pebbles Cereal coupon found in the 1/15 SS
    Final cost $1.08!

In FL you can’t just buy one for $1.63 so why is it suggested you can??

    • Kelly

P.S. thanks for including Publix to your site 🙂

    • Hip Helper Holly

I posted from here in Georgia, so I posted as being able to buy one item. Florida is the only state that you have to buy two in order to get the BOGO, the other states list them as half price (As far as I have researched, there may be some Publix that you must buy 2 items, but it has been my experience that only Florida has this rule)

  45. squarejellybean

No publix here in Ca, I sure do miss double coupons, wish they would bring um back.
Have fun all u publix shopper 🙂 I do however have some publix coupons I got in the mail. I signed up for them and used a diff state and the coupons still got here in CA.
Its about 20 publix coupons that expire 4/12. First person to email me I will send them to.
    funnytina39@gmail.com

  46. squarejellybean

my publix coupons are taken 🙂

  47. passion4saving

    Hi Collin!

I just thought you might like to know, that in Florida items do ring up at Publix as buy 1 get 1 FREE! 1 item rings up at full price and then the 2nd item rings up at $0! HTH! 🙂

  48. mp

Sorry, but I did not find this Publix post to be all that helpful. Not your fault. You live in GA. I personally think that someone from FL should do the Publix posts. There are like 1,000 Publix stores and like 3/4 of them are in FL so that is why they do not double here and force you to buy 2 on a BOGO. They eliminated their competition by doninating the market. Ga and other deep south states have more stores to compete with. I guess no none wasnt to come to FL as its too hot and humid.

    • Hip Helper Holly

Im sorry you did not find it helpful! I posted most of them as buying two, only a few are listed as buying one. I was trying to show a variation for those that are not in Florida.

  49. julieanne28

Woohoo! I love Publix! I live in north GA so I have to drive to TN to shop at my Publix. They have the best customer service of any store I have ever shopped. My local Publix (Chattanooga, TN) considers Bi-Lo, Target, and Food Lion as competitors, they double coupons up to .50, and with BOGO sales you only have to buy one to get it half off BUT if you buy two you can use two coupons! Love it!!

  50. Ava

Hey Dear Collin and Holly and helpers, did anybody ever told You how awesome You are? duh! right? but still I’m going to remind You that You are AWESOME!!! Love Your site You have been awesome to My family!! and now I can also get publix deals too!!! yey!! happy dance here:)
